The Halfway Bridge Inn, Lodsworth

Nice restuarant but not really a pub. Portions very small though and very expensive. Just to correct the last comments posted , dogs are welcome, but only in the bar area, as they do not allow dogs in the restaurant parts.

The Red Lion, Fernhurst

Great pub and gone from strength to strength. polite and friendly landlord-lady and staff lovely atmosphere, nice rear garden and the food is varied and excellent value. The beers are quite good but would prefer to see a few more varieiets on tap real ale and lager than exist at the moment.
Dog friendly too , so one of our favourite places on a quiet village green.

The White Horse, Haslemere

This pub restauarant has gone from good to bad to really good and now back again to dismal. The place is great with good atmosphere but as regards Food forget it! Food management is not their forte.
They rarely have half the items on the menu whichever day of the week we come and when you order, its takes nearly 50 minutes to be served.
Now they are advertising for a new chef so we dont feel brave enough to venture there again until the current mess is sorted out. A year or so ago this place was run excellently.

The Crown, Chiddingfold

the current owner- manager is rarely to be seen and We believe the place would benefit from a more hands on approach. The food is very good quality but the service very variable indeed.
Also ,where dishes are advertised for a minimum of 2 persons such as a whole duck or chateau Briand they are very small portions and very, very expensive.

The Noahs Ark Inn, Lurgashall

We have been great fans of the Noahs Ark for twenty five years and under the current landlord it went onto greater strengths. However, in the past 9 months we have seen the pub go veer away from its previous high point giving a feeling of complacency. Its still a good place for a beer.

The landlord is never there when we have visited or appears to be away much more than previously and the staff appear to be unable to cope at times, even when the pub is not particularly busy. You usualy have to wait at least 45 minutes to get your food and wait a long time to be served. The prices are not cheap at all and the food quantities have diminshed.
In addition now they have decided to ban dogs from anywhere other than the pub part so anyone wanting a dog friendly pub please note this.

The William IV, Albury

I find the staff a bit unfriendly, but the food is fantastic...The steak and kidney pie one of the best in Surrey in our view.. The pub is pretty good too if you like small quaint pubs
