The Links, Fleet

No pub quiz anymore by the way.

Pretty good atmosphere though not much in the way of good ale.

The Three Pigeons, Guildford

Not too much to add since last visit but the food was good and the beer was even better - that being the Timothy Taylor landlord. My rating of 9/10 still stands.

The Sportsmans Inn, Ivybridge

So few comments? Strange as this is good.

The Horse and Groom, Bittaford

Good pub in Devon.

The Bakers, Basingstoke

Visited here recently - not sure what is really nice about it. Mostly this is a bar with big tv screens. The staff appeared uninterested. At least you had a great time Kate! Green King Ales

Remix Bar, Woking

Walked in then walked out. Just two lagers on handpump and bottled lager. Maybe I was not there long enough to give a rating but this place did not appeal to me. Maybe it is good for clubbers. 2/10.

The Star Inn, Guildford

Decided to brave the Star this afternoon and the visit was just as I expected.

The crowd at the bar was noisy and off-putting. Does this pub attract Guilford's criminals?

However the positive note was the Sheperd Neame ales, there was 4 on and the Late Red was superb.

Pub also seemed very food orientated with menu's set at every table. Plenty of food choice for everybody so this has the makings of a great pub but as yet the crowd have had to lower my rating somewhat. 7/10.

The White Hart, Hook

The other White Hart, an alright pub which has very much an old fashioned feel. Quite an eerie atmosphere and not an awful lot going on here. Different ales which included Tribute and London Pride. Felt slightly unfriendly atmosphere at the bar compared to other pubs in area but 7/10 nontheless.

The Old White Hart, Hook

Two White Harts so close together? Does make things confusing. Even so this White Hart is an excellent pub with an enjoyable atmosphere. The pool tables appear to attract all types but the pub is spacious and offers Greene King Ales. 9/10.

The Raven Hotel, Hook

Situated near the train station - this place makes sense as a first port of call on a visit to Hook.

The place feels a little like a lads culture type of bar with many pool tables around and Sky Sports on the Tv.

Ales consist of Greene King beers, ok drinks and a handy stop off point 8/10.

The Royal Oak, Guildford

Popped in for a quick one as the icy conditions continued to trouble the town.

Quick service which was to my surprise then again it was hardly packed, indeed very empty for a late afternoon.

On tap were three ales - Pride, HSB and Jack Frost. The Jack Frost was excellent.

Also this pub has a warm and homely feel and there is said to be live music at weekends, while the jukebox adds to the atmosphere.

In general a great pub, if a little small for when it gets busy and thus I shall give it a 9/10.

The Three Pigeons, Guildford

The snow was bringing chaos to the town this afternoon.

However this pub was open and was a nice relief from the cold conditions. Inside was a warm atmosphere, the pub was closed upstairs but downstairs there was plenty of seats.

On tap was a fair few ales including Pride, Timothy Taylor and SA Brains which I went for.

Definitely worth a visit and a suitable location at top of High Street.

A little too Gastro for me but a 9/10 nontheless.

The Kings Head, Guildford

Terrific Guildfordian pub situated in a great spot hidden away from town centre.

I frequented this pub having thought about entering The Star, however was put off by a group of youngsters!

This place had a cosy and comfortable feel and the people at the bar seemed friendly.

Only one real ale on, which being the Hobgoblin, however it was on form which suggests this is a pub which cares about real ale.

Worthy of a visit any time. 10/10.
