Springfield House, Brechin

Good amount of space and it's got it all - Pool, darts, karaoke once in a fortnight I believe, fruit machine, serves food up and down stairs, sheltered smoking area and seating outside.
Staff are great (the manageress liked to laugh at my long nails however _)
Highly approve.

The Plough Inn, Forfar

Rather small bar at the front with a large function suite in the back - often used for band nights -
Not an overly expensive place but it took a fair while to get served.

The Osnaburg Bar, Forfar

Long standing pub that gives off a traditional feel and a small function suite, I've never had to wait too long to get served either.
Also ironically, it used to be a meeting place for a teetotal group before becoming a pub, so i'm told.
A nice place in my opinion.

Capitol, Dundee

Loads of space, great for a social night out. The drink isn't badly priced and they can do some pretty impressive offers. The staff are rather strict however and at least the ones I was served by seemed to want rid of us (I was part of a group of late teens/early 20s).

The East End Bar and Nova Suite, Brechin

Went to a wedding reception here at the weekend and can't say I complained about the Nova Suite, it looks nice enough for functions and there is enough seating for a mid-large crowd. Nothing other than that, it's a bit run of the mill bar-wise.

The Balcony Bar, Dundee

Looks like a dive, haven't a clue when it's open and the staff are easy pissed off.
However there is metal so that's a plus for me (Avoid this place if you don't like to rock) and the food is cheap if they're doing it. A good place for those who like that scene, a hell hole for the rest of the world.
