The Railway, Blackheath

Agree with Lezford....it's a problem with most pubs in Blackheath, better off in O'Neils.

The Royal Standard, Hastings

Top pub, great staff and where else can you play bingo for cheese....6pm on Saturdays.

25 Jun 2017 16:57

The Maxwell Hotel, Orpington

Not to many positive comments. Popped in yesterday as we had a half hour wait for our next train and it was fine, just had the one pint of Stella (which was good). barman seemed a friendly enough bloke so would recommend it for a pint on route from Hither Green to Hastings.

The Three Daws, Gravesend

Impressed by the 3 Daws yesterday...1 average pint...end of the barrel followed by a couple in very good condition. The ham, egg and chips were excellent. After we went for a drink in the Rum Puncheon....shocked how much this has gone down hill...must be a good reason for this, for now I'll be sticking with the 3 Daws.

29 Feb 2016 11:34

Coach and Horses, Northfleet

Popped in here on Saturday (1st time in 20 odd years)...the Bombadier was in good nick and the food we had was very good, decent burger, nice chips with salad and a large bowl of colslaw....the wife enjoyed her fish finger sandwich to so overall a vey pleasent lunchtime visit.

29 Feb 2016 11:23

The Sun, Swanscombe

Went to the Sun on Saturday night (mates 50th)...the Doombar wasn't upto much but if you don't mind lager the 1664 was good...cheaper the Witherspoons as well.

29 Feb 2016 11:18

The Hare and Billet, Blackheath

Popped in on Sunday (3-4pm) very good beer but I've never seen so many toddlers in a pub before it was like the bloody Wacky Races with all those buggies, still it gave us a bit of a laugh.

1 Feb 2016 13:46

The Dripping Spring, St Leonards on Sea

One of three good pubs in a small area...the others are The Tower (30 sec walk) & North Star....all 3 make a good mini pub crawl.

29 Dec 2015 12:00

Belmont, Hastings

Now a private residence, closed several years ago.

30 Nov 2015 11:51

The Oddfellows Arms, Hastings

Been a Tesco's for at least a year now.

30 Nov 2015 11:49

The Royal Albion, Hastings

Popped in yesterday, the new owners have done an excellent job, will certainly start using The Albion (it's not called The Royal Albion anymore).

19 Apr 2015 16:19

Not a local, however found this to be a pleasent pub (on Christmas Eve) with decent beer.

27 Dec 2014 16:24

The Duke of Wellington, Hastings

PDWR.....Spot on, and we even had a win on the meat raffle last weekend, and very nice it was to.

23 Feb 2014 11:21

The Craft Beer Co, Brighton

I know it's a beer pub but come on 5.50 for a glass of house (dry) white is a bit steep, prefered it when it was the PV.

14 Feb 2014 17:26

Yates's, Hastings

Recently had a makeover, not to bad a job either, ale was in good nick when I last visited, not everyones cup of tea but it's OK during the day (the only time I've ever been in here).

21 Dec 2013 14:32

Revolver, Hastings

Now called Whistle Trago, a bit of a daft name but still a decent bar, now selling beer from the Hastings Brewery.

15 Dec 2013 12:55

The Duke of Wellington, Hastings

Agree with "pubresearch".

4 Nov 2013 09:42

The Filo (First In Last Out), Hastings

The Cinque Ports and the FILO are in my opinion the best 2 pubs in the Old Town.

20 Dec 2012 14:52

The Havelock, Hastings

Best pub in town centre, beers always in good nick, nice friendly bar staff, decent music (though not to loud) and usually a decent atmosphere....if you want better in Hastings then you would need to go along to the Old Town.
Oh and also worth mentioning they do a loyalty scheme..buy 9 pints and you get the 10th free...this doesn't have to be in the same evening.

20 Dec 2012 14:32

The Gregorian, Bermondsey

Popped in for a swift half before the Millwall v Charlton game, nice enough place and not to busy considering Millwall had their best crowd for 10 years, no real ale though.

13 Dec 2012 11:07

The Station, Hither Green

All well and good having 6 real ales on, but only if there is a demand for it.

11 Dec 2012 09:51

The Jenny Lind, Hastings

Lovely Betty Stoggs.

23 Sep 2012 10:52

Robert de Mortain, Hastings

Had lunch here yesterday, food was very good, gammon, egg and chips, had 3 pints of IPA served in good condition and then 3 pints of Abbot...again served in good condition. So the food and drink was good as was the service, add this to the splendid setting (sitting on the large balcony out the back) and you have all the ingrediants for wonderful afternoon lunch and drinking session...oh yer the company was good as well...9/10.

20 Sep 2012 09:18

The Cutter, Hastings

Harveys in good nick whenever I've been in here, not everyones cup of tea but I like it in hear on a Saturday afternoon watching out for the football results.

12 Aug 2012 14:17

The Dolphin Inn, Hastings

Beer always in good nick, friendly locals and happy day trippers usually make up the clientele, and the bar staff ain't to bad either.

12 Aug 2012 14:14

The Cinque Port Arms, Hastings

One of Hasting's finest, great staff, excellent beer and a great atmosphere. Lots of real local characters who will make you fill more then wellcome.

12 Aug 2012 14:11

The Anchor, Hastings

Seems that the prices have gone up now.

13 Jul 2012 08:11

The Anchor, Hastings

New owners....much improved.

24 Jun 2012 12:43

The British Oak, Kidbrooke

Looking forward to visiting here again, have'nt been to the Valley for a while so looking forward to a pint before the game and hopefully 3 points v Stevenage.

25 Feb 2012 10:10

The Lord Northbrook, Lee

Liked it the way it was....if I want to go to somewhere like it is now I'd go up Blackheath....NORTHBROOK RIP.

18 Dec 2011 10:51

The Craft Beer Co, City of London

Loved the Avalanche....thanks Pat for taking me to this gem of a pub.

26 Nov 2011 10:57

The Running Horse, Mayfair

Pride was in bad nick, Cornish Knocker alot better though.

30 Aug 2011 10:36

The Carlisle, Hastings

Nice sea views and beer was pretty good as well. Great duke box.....my mate loved it in hear.

28 Mar 2011 10:18

The Park Tavern, Eltham

Harveys.....a good post, don't drink in Eltham to often these days but if I do then the Park is a pub that I would always head for....won't be bothering anymore, Eltham will be somewhere to pop for a bit of shopping.....not for it's pubs.

21 Sep 2010 16:30

The Priory Hotel, Dover

Handy for the station, always pop in here after a day trip to France before the journey back to London...good disco in here last night, even had a 'bit' of a dance with the sister in laws.....after a good day trip to Calais.

29 Aug 2010 12:43

The Princess of Wales, Blackheath

Maybe no kids after 7pm....but sooo many before this, I won't be going in here during a Sunday lunchtime again, far better alternatives in the area.

4 Aug 2010 10:30

The Park Tavern, Eltham

Maybe the nicest pub in Eltham....However I had two pints of different ales and both were pretty poor, I know I should have complained but the young girl was pretty busy and I didn't want to give her any more hassle. 5-6 ales on is all well and good but the majority in there were drinking lager and my guess is that some of those ales had been on for more then 5-6 days, lager is not my drink of choice but if they keep on serving up ale of the quality I had then I'll happily order a pint of Stella.

31 Jul 2010 10:24

The Green Man and French Horn, Covent Garden

THIS IS NOW CLOSED....

18 Jul 2010 10:31

The Cutty Sark Tavern, Greenwich

Ale in good nick, great location, nice staff, decent tuna bagettes...what more can one ask for, a very pleasent start to a 'Greenwich Crawl'.

12 Jul 2010 18:40

The Lord Northbrook, Lee

Great pub....just give it a go and don't be put off by the obvious lack of TLC, always a friendly wellcome in here from fantastic bar staff.

3 Jun 2010 16:37

The Edmund Halley, Lee

Some of the negatives are fair points...however the beer is usually pretty good and you won't beat the prices...It's better then anything up Blackheath which has really gone down the pan in the last year or so.

3 Jun 2010 16:35

The Cove, Covent Garden

Been in here many times but walked out yesterday before being served. Bloke at the bar was told to pay 4.60 for a pint of bitter and a pint of Peroni...then the barman told him he had made a mistake....it was 8.60...a bit steep really and though this was probably down to the Peroni I did not want to find out the price of a pint and white wine....probably in excess of 8 pound.

25 Apr 2010 12:47

O'Neills, Blackheath

I'm not a huge fan of the O'Neills 'thing', however it's now the only pub in Blackheath that turns families with young kids away (not always but they were last weekend) and for that reason alone it gets my vote. I prefer real ale to lager....but can tolerate the Stella if it means I don't have to put up with screaming kids and their ridiculous parents who have no concern for other punters who just want to enjoy a few pints in a relatively peaceful and 'adult friendly' environment.

6 Apr 2010 15:30

The Princess of Wales, Blackheath

It's getting worse in here..popped in yesterday (bank holiday Monday)....and straight out again...bloody kids everywhere.

6 Apr 2010 15:22

The Dog and Bell, Deptford

Nice pub this one and a good one if your an away fan going to Millwall...quality beer, good friendly service and about 30 min walk to the ground......shame about the match...MFC 4 CAFC 0....still can't have it all.

14 Mar 2010 11:07

The Hare and Billet, Blackheath

Don't like dogs (well the smell anyway), still an OK pub for Blackheath standards anyway. I to prefered it with the old owner, a real miserable git but I liked him and he wouldn't have loads of kids in the place like most other Blackheath pubs.
