The Jolly Angler, Manchester

Fantastic back street pub. Revisited when cruising the canals last week after several years since our last visit. Unchanged. Hydes bitter in great shape & only 2 pint. Live music. Very friendly locals.

Duke of York, Romiley

Visited last week when cruiding the Peak Forest canal. Short walk from bridge 14. Deuchars IPA & Sharps Doombar found in good condition. Bar food (burgers & kebabs) supplied by next door Mediterranean restaurant OK for the price 3.95

The Ring o Bells, Marple

Visited many times over the years when crusing the Macclesfield Canal. Always reliable & last week was no exception - range of Robinsons ales, all well kept. 'Up market' food menu looks good, tho' not sampled

The Dolphin, Macclesfield

Visited when cruising the Cheshire Ring (short walk from bridge 38). Good friendly back street pub with range of Robinsons ales, all in excellent condition.

The Kings Lock, Middlewich

Visited twice when cruising the Cheshire Ring. Excellent Taylors Landlord on our first visit. 2nd (Friday) visit disappointed - no real ale available for 24 hours (barrels still settling) so we left to quench our thirsty crew elsewhere.

The Queens Head, Congleton

Visited when passing by boat. Steep steps up from 'the cut' but worth the climb to find 10 ales on. Most were sampled by our crew & all were in excellent condition. Friendly staff. Decor dated.

The Blue Bell Inn, Kidsgrove

A good conversation pub. Friendly staff & locals. Spent a great evening in here when boating on the canals. 5 varied beers in good condition (all were sampled by our crew) & prices cheap. Lots of CAMRA & beer related books on the shelves to browse.
