Rose and Crown, Huddersfield

Visited this pub recently as our nearest local is shut for refurbishment. Shocking service. Barman (possibly could even be the owner) was surly and unfriendly. He spent most of his time outside and we couldn't get served. Only time he spent any significant time in the pub was when he was eating his dinner at the bar. On the plus side, the food was delicious but we won't be coming back.

The Commercial, Mossley

This pub has improved immeasurably. Still no food but now sells 2 real ales with, apparently, another one to come. Beer very well kept and a very friendly atmosphere. A pub really trying to be welcoming.

The Britannia Inn, Mossley

Couldn't agree more with the previous comments. Such a shame because this could be a really nice pub if the landlord actually liked his customers (or at least tried to be congenial). An attempt at pouring a full pint (or at least with more beer than head) wouldn't go amiss either. Nice food at fair prices.
