Sir Norman Wisdom, Deal

Wetherspoons pub, with the usual pros and cons on such places, consistent cheap food, well priced beers with a good range, but a lack of atmosphere.

Whilst I normally enjoy a spoons for a quiet drink and some food, this place is a bit starnge.

At the front of the pub it feels fairly welcoming, but the larger part at the back has the feel of a childrens playcentre, with its garish decor. It does not feel right at all, very weird choice of decor.

Sovereign, Ramsgate

now called the Goose.

Has improved a bit since the new ownership, had a bit of a spruce up. from Thursday onwards it is a kiddies pub in the evenings, but not a bad place to watch sport in the day.

The Churchill Tavern, Ramsgate

nicely decorated pub, with a lot of wood, smells a little like a church because of this. Have eaten here a few times and can say it does excellent food, the beer battered cod and chips takes some beating and this is not nouveau cuisine size protions. Good selection of beers and lagers as well as large selection of wines, something for everyone here, along with the views of the harbour, I find this a very pleasant pub I will be revisiting often.

Bedford Inn, Ramsgate

pleasant local pub, with free pool table all the time and free juke box during the week. A proper local with friendly bar staff. Will definitely be going back.

The Artillery Arms, Ramsgate

I visited this place in the daytime recently, with my builder. We were both a little dusty. The landlord was rude and clearly did not want us there spoiling his pub, will never use the place again. There are ways to talk to punters which he does not understand, maybe he is in the wrong job.
