The George, Great Portland Street

mib - when you say the barmaids are pocketable, do you mean they're soo tiny they would fit in pockets ??
IPA in good condition, but pretty soon ran out - along with the Abbot. So the only remaining choice was IPA 'Cold'. Not sure about this stroke of Marketing genius - it seems to be trying to be John Smiths - which in my book is a very bad idea.

The Lion, Croydon

Definitely an emphasis on the beer, of which there was a good selection. Unfortunately I found this pub a little bit tired and in need of re-decoration.

The Red Cow, Richmond

A good refurbishment and money well spent. The Winter Warmer was in excellent condition.

The Brook Green Hotel, Hammersmith

I didn't know the pub before my visit, it was merely the convenience. However, it was fairly quiet for a Saturday evening - perhaps suffering from losing all it's regulars.

That said, I think the pub still shows plenty of potential (as long as it doesn't introduce Karaoke) - the food was good and the Youngs excellent.

Numidie, Crystal Palace

Exactly as previously reviewed. This is a small but very friendly bar and well worth a visit.

London Pride by the bottle and only 1 draught lager pump.

The Half Moon, Charlwood

If you're staying at the Russ Hill hotel ready for your early morning departure from Gatwick, make sure you arrive early enough to visit this pub. It's 10 times better than the overcrowded bar at the hotel and the food simply cannot be compared.

The beer, food and pub are excellent.

The Flag, Watford

My one and only visit was a weekday lunchtime. Don't think I would fancy sitting inside as it is very dark, but it was a nice sunny day so it was nice to take a seat outside (lager only though).

Not quite sure why I was the only one outside - is Watford reknowned for it's Vampires ??

The York Tavern, Norwich

My first visit in a while - not because it had a bad reputation, but there are simply so many options in the area. It was 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon, so was understandably fairly quiet. Played some pool and enjoyed the Wherry.

Don't know if it was Jo behind the bar, but she was very friendly and welcoming.

Mad Moose, Norwich

Not much to add - it is pretty much as described by the previous reviewers. Bar food is of a good standard. There is also a restaurant upstairs which I haven't tried - I'm afraid the prices put me off.

The whole pub has recently been decorated (although the mens have yet to receive a makeover) and the sofas have been removed.

The Studio Lounge, Piccadilly

A quiet bar on the 5th floor of Waterstones serving various bottled beers from around the world. Nice views out across the City. If you like Japanese food I can also recommend restaurant Yoshino across the road in Piccadilly Place (next to Le Meridian)

The Mash Tun, Norwich

Most definitely not as descibed below.

Recently taken over by somebody from Delayneys, the Hog has very much joined the Norwich 'cicuit', and I would imagine the previous reviewer would find all the things he hates here now.

In it's favour is the fact that the new licensing hours allows you to arrive late and not have to join the other revellers on their way down to Riverside - a bonus indeed !

The Jolly Sailors, Brancaster Staithe

A good pub indeed and the food was very good. The Old Les was fantastic.

As with any of the 'bootiful' villages on the Norfolk coast, there will always be plenty of visitors. Don't let this deter you as the coastline and pub are both well worth the visit.

The Reindeer Pub & Kitchen, Norwich

Elgoods tied pub recently (actually it has probably been well over a year) taken over by the former landlord & lady of the Micawbers.

As you might expect the main beers are Elgoods and these are exceptionally well looked after. There is normally a guest beer or 2 on offer as well.

Plenty of big screens if you're a football fan.

Also, there is a decked area behind the pub, so you don't need to sit out in the street.

The Fat Cat, Norwich

This is most definitely my favourite pub in Norwich and I've yet to find anything better in the U.K. The beer selection is always plentiful and tasty.
