The Prince of Wales, Farnborough

Went in for the first time in years last week. Still quality. Great ale selection.

21 Jul 2018 16:31

The Potters Arms, Farnborough

Knocked down, now housing.

21 Jul 2018 16:31

The Plough and Horses, Cove

Well, after a few visits over the last 9 years I'm pleased to say that I'm downgrading the pub from a 4 to a 2. Shocking, Rarely has a pub so well situated been so poor for so long. Had the mis-pleasure of siting in the beer garden with some racist scum just last Saturday. What a dump.

21 Jul 2018 16:27

The Prince of Wales, Wimbledon

Aye, it's a dump alright. Good if you like pubs where the bar staff don't mind people throwing glasses at other patrons.

16 Jul 2011 20:09

The Old Kings Head, Borough

Good pub, friendly and fantastic ale! Watch out for the 'shelf guts' that roam the bar.

19 Jun 2011 17:47

Charlie Chaplin, Elephant and Castle

What a pub. Clean, tidy, friendly and all welcoming of men with 'man bags'. Seriously, this place is a dump. Dirty, dark, crap seats. Always good to hear a septuagenarian start mouthing off as you are carry a bag with stuff in it. It was 45 minutes of my life I have lost, and thankfully will never experience again!

19 Jun 2011 17:44

The Bricklayers Arms, Putney

Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

14 Jan 2011 22:41

The Woodman, Farnborough

Why is this pub not in Farnborough in Hants, it sounds great!

18 Sep 2010 17:45

The Dock Inn, Penzance

Good boozer with good ale and nice food. not sure about the seagull walking around the pub mind.

22 Aug 2010 18:43

The Blue Peter, Polperro

Great pub, good food and lovely owner, top beer!

16 Aug 2010 09:34

The Gurnards Head, Zennor

Why is this pub only 5.9 at the moment? Spent 3 nights here two weeks ago and it is stunning, the food and ale, staff, rooms are all top notch. Also has a fantastic veggie menu, brilliant!

16 Aug 2010 09:33

The Old Fish Market, Bristol

Used to be a good pub, not sure any more. When I was last in there, it had gone way downhill, even had karoke, what's all that about?

2 Aug 2010 16:13

Archangel, Frome

Has re-opened as the Archangel, apparently a nice upmarket place, but not been in yet.

18 Jul 2010 19:00

The Griffin, Frome

First visit in 8 years last night, still a great pub, excellent ale and cider, good size beer garden and a good crowd. If you are anywhere near Frome, go to this pub!

18 Jul 2010 18:59

Klasterni Pivovar Strahov, Prague

Legend of a place. Went last July, great place, great beer, great food. You can also partake a 'beer to go' on the way back to town, great stuff.

11 Jul 2010 17:09

The Snooty Fox, Three Bridges

Forgot to mention in my previous entry about the huge dog. The dog whose owner was so disinterested in him that the dog had to empty his bowels in the pub, poor thing.

6 Jun 2010 16:30

The Hand In Hand, Brighton

Still one of the best pubs in Brighton. Used to drink here 190 years ago when living around the corner, went back last week, superb. Stopped making their own beer, but I believe about to restart.

6 Jun 2010 09:18

The Snooty Fox, Three Bridges

Upon arriving at Three Bridges, looking for a pub to wait for a lift, my first words were 'I ain't going in there'. I did go in, and would love to say that my first thoughts were wrong, but no. I found this pub to be full of marauding males, ageing guys acting like teenagers, awful beer and a highly unwelcoming feel. While the ale was just about drinkable, the amount of swearing, attitude and general distaste was at a very high level, but enough about me, the clientle were even worse. In summary, a shocking hell hole that I have rarely encountered in the last 20 years, apart from the pubs in King's Lynn.

6 Jun 2010 09:13

The Coat and Badge, Putney

A good pub with good beer. Only down side is that you can't get simple food like a cheese sarnie, why would I want a rap with beans and guacamole?

2 Apr 2010 12:51

The Bricklayers Arms, Putney

Stunning. Went back in here for the first time in about 10 years. Decor has been redone, excellent beer still, a superb pub.

2 Apr 2010 12:50

Adam and Eve, Fitzrovia

Dump.

27 Mar 2010 09:47

The Champion, Fitzrovia

Great pub with good beer and a dart board, need I say more?

27 Mar 2010 09:46

The Royal Oak, Haslemere

Great pub, good ale and food. Proper country pub, but not stuck too far out in the country. Would head back if I was ever in that region again. Mind the steps out of the gents though.

12 Mar 2010 19:43

The Mayfair Tavern, Tooting

I'm amazed by the comments below. Just last night I was back in the Mayfair lapping up the ambience whilst chugging back some of the black stuff, playing pool and loading up the jukebox. The service was rapid, polite and attentive. There was only the same 4 blokes at the bar mind. Sadly, I didn't have time to play some arrows.

7 Feb 2010 19:06

The Rose and Crown, Tooting Bec

From what I see from sitting in this pub now, it is alright. Nice staff, clients and beer. A real pub I am pleased to say. Ahh, and here comes Cidermaster now!

6 Feb 2010 19:09

The Kings Head, Bristol

Great pub, used to work just round the corner, always in here after work for a Doombar, oh yeah

10 Jan 2010 15:40

The Bell, Blackwater

Used to do music nights back in the day, also cracked poen my head here once, but I was only 4.

9 Jan 2010 13:17

The Royal Swan, Blackwater

A real dump..........

9 Jan 2010 13:16

Crab and Dragon, Camberley

Dump!

9 Jan 2010 13:15

Ye Olde White Hart, Frimley

Hahaha, an endless dump..........

9 Jan 2010 13:15

The Hawley Arms, Farnborough

Wow, I thought this place was bulldozed many moons ago. One of the few pubs where the landlord used to pull the fruity across the door to stop the police coming in to break up fights or dealing. That was back in the late 80's mind, but still looks a dump.

9 Jan 2010 13:13

The Mayfair Tavern, Tooting

Went back to the Mayfair last month, top stuff, pool table, dart board and good friendly staff. The Mayfair is still a place to sample, dream and then go for a Mirch............ 10/10

28 Dec 2009 17:59

The Old Courthouse, Cove

Well, went back to this pub about 3 years after my previous review, and I can say that it has changed. Unfortunately though, not for the better. Seems strange that it has the cask marque, but still can't keep its ale, TEA is now awful, when it used to be 'ok'. The clientle are fine, apart from the family of coke-heads who generally are off their faces. sad really, it could be a much better pub, though that could be said about most of the pubs in Farnborough. I used to give this boozer a 5, now its a Farnborough 3, and a UK wide 1, awful.

28 Dec 2009 17:55

The Harp, Covent Garden

Great boozer. Good ale and snacks and a nice air of geniality.

7 Dec 2009 19:13

The Plough and Horses, Cove

I can only concur with the Mighty Cidermaster. the Plough now can only hold a half-dead Fire-fly compared to beacon of light of 5-10 years ago, and a relative black hole compared to the Halcyon days of 20 years ago. How can a pub that, until Pete (sob) left was great and not full of 'undesirables' have dropped so far. The few times I have been in recently there appears to be some major discrepancy with how when the pub shuts the bar and the time. why would I want to buy 4 pints at 10 and have until 12 to drink them just so they can shut the bar? Try crystallising some ideas of how to make a pub that sells real-ale actually get some people in to drink it instead of peddling poor lager.

You hear of so many pubs going to the wall, not sure which one, but some wall, why can't the plough actually attract more people for where it is situated. Admittedly, I live 50 miles away now, in a 'rough' part of London, and the pubs here are much better!

Lads..............

5 Dec 2009 20:25

The Elephant and Castle, Kensington

Great pub in a back street, good beer and bar comestibles! Had about 4 ales on, all top notch!

5 Dec 2009 20:13

The Wheatsheaf, Stanwell

Good pub, good beer, excellent London Pride and Cornish Doom Bar!

16 May 2009 13:42

The Basketmakers Arms, Brighton

Brilliant!

14 May 2009 18:45

The Antwerp Arms, Tottenham

Dump!

6 Mar 2009 16:59

The Monkey Puzzle, Southwood

This is, and always has been, a not too good pub. Poor beer, awful decor, and not the greatest layout. For a pub that was whacked up in the 80's, they could of done a better job.

11 Feb 2009 19:04

The Thatched Cottage, Farnborough

'The best pub in Farnborough! .......'

That's not saying a lot is it? Still it isn't a bad boozer, had some good times here, used to be a quite rough, but not as bad now, or have I grown up...........

11 Feb 2009 19:00

The Hen and Chicken, Upper Froyle

This has always been a great country pub!

7 Feb 2009 08:59

The Hope and Anchor, Islington

Went in here for the first time in about 20 years, still pretty much the same I am pleased to say. Beer ok, funny atmosphere with a range of people, a proper pub!

1 Feb 2009 16:13

The Famous Cock Tavern, Islington

Not a bad boozer, beer is ok, food fine. wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but ok if next to tube. Much improved since referb.

1 Feb 2009 16:12

The Ladybird Inn, Aston Fields

why has no one left another comment? I'm furious........

19 Dec 2008 18:31

The Victoria, Tottenham

What have they done to this pub???? Used to be a great, tatty, proper pub. Went on a month ago on a friday, first time for ages, and it has been decked out like a dodgy club/bar, too bright, and no one in there, what a waste.

13 Dec 2008 18:40

The Ship, Tottenham

Neither a good or bad pub, beer's ok, drinkers are alright, not much difference, apart from the decor, to the Elbow Room a few doors down.

13 Dec 2008 18:37

The Elbow Room, Tottenham

Very funny pub, in the right and wrong way. Live not to far from here, go in now again, cheap beer, not too badly kept re the ale. Very funny on a Friday. not sure about the view comment from Vera below, you have a very steep railway embankment at the back, and Tottenham High Road, not the best, out the front. Still, for the area, not a bad boozer like!

13 Dec 2008 18:34

The Admiral Sir Lucius Curtis, Southampton

Simply, a dump.............

23 Nov 2008 18:01

The Salisbury, Harringay

Great pub, 6 good ales and a good variety of food. Had a very relaxing sunday. Would of been a higher score if the food was a little more value for money like. Lovely building mind.

3 Sep 2008 20:53

The Park, Tottenham

Does anyone know why this pub has closed, apart from the obvious, i.e. it was crap?

7 Aug 2008 17:24

The Plume of Feathers, Greenwich

Had a good sesh in here the other night. About 8 of us, all had a good time and some damn fine beer!

26 Jun 2008 17:49

The Bunch of Grapes, London Bridge

Went here for lunch the other Sat. Still a good pub with good beer......But!

5.50 for a cheese and pickle sandwich that consisted of two slices of cheap, medium slice brown bread that had been toasted as they were stale, the thinnest piece of cheap cheddar and bog standard Branstons was not what I expected. Moreover, the other dish, Mexican Chicken, had way too much cheap, tinned salsa that was over sweet. Good pub, but need to sort out the menu, and also the toilets had not been cleaned for a week by the look of them!

26 Jun 2008 17:41

The Horse and Groom, Great Portland Street

Returned to this nuclear after nigh on 2 decades, still a good battle-cruiser! Cheap Sam Smiths, good range of pre-packed, foil wrapped comestibles and obligatory drunk person with their arse out, great stuff!!!

7 Apr 2008 19:16

The Thatched Cottage, Farnborough

Not a bad boozer. Do they still have taped 'get-out' messages at the end of the evening?

19 Jan 2007 08:42

The Queens Head, Farnborough

So this place hasn't changed then..........

Used to sell good chip butties

19 Jan 2007 08:41

The Prince of Wales, Farnborough

I have no prob getting served in this pub, here's for why....

1: if I'm at the bar, I adopt an outrageous bar stance to protect 'my' terratory, whilst pretending to be deaf.

2: If I'm not at the bar i just push in.......

Job done.

Seriously though, it is a good pub, and will be better after 1st July this year.

19 Jan 2007 08:40

The Royal Oak, Borough

A top pub. Good ales etc

19 Jan 2007 08:30

The Dukes Head, Putney

Ummmm. Use to drink in the 'watering hole' a fair amount. Pleased that they have kept the decor and other malarky despite the refit. Good beer still, but alas, why have they got rid of the table footy????

20 Nov 2006 16:57

The Victoria, Tottenham

This is a great pub with good music. I'm not Irish, but have had no probs in here at all.

1 Nov 2006 17:34

The Park, Tottenham

This pub is awful. Beer is very poor, food 'looked' the same. Kids are welcome, but only it seems, as the parents are the main clientele who sit in there hour after hour spending cash! They don't mind you taking your own fish and chips in from what I saw!

1 Nov 2006 17:19

Bell Inn, Moreton in Marsh

Quite a good boozer. Beers ok, good black stuff. does seem to be the place for the local firemens night out??

1 Nov 2006 17:15

The Ladybird Inn, Aston Fields

Not a bad boozer. well decked out, good beer on, though not a huge selection of ale and good food.

29 Oct 2006 14:10

The Plough and Horses, Cove

This once great pub has gone to pot. But salvation is on the horizon. As of the 20th of August a new owner will be in place. That owner is Shepherd Neame. This should ensure the booting out of the lager boys, some well kept ales, magners and a decent menu. Roll on the revolution, and the cheese ploughmans, avec chips mind!

3 Aug 2006 09:39

Charles XII, Heslington

Good pub for 30 teachers on courses to get leathered in. Massive beer garden and 1.50 a pint. They had my custom for three nights in a row. Good beer range, and table footy!

17 Jul 2006 19:59

The Prince of Wales, Farnborough

Marked down for decour. You're there to drink man, not do interior design on the joint!

13 Jun 2006 16:57

The Mayfair Tavern, Tooting

I need to take issue with the comments by pigman. I've never found the Mayfair to be anything other than warm and welcoming, with a friendly atmosphere. Indeed, just the other day myself and a travelling companion were ushered in, furnished booze, allowed to use the duke box and given free reign of the pool table, and all for standard prices mind. Whenever I go to a different boozer, I raise a glass and dream of the Mayfair!

31 May 2006 09:08

The Hope, Wandsworth Common

Not a bad boozer, but is frequented by people with too much money and too little sense. Food looks over priced but the beer is good.

31 May 2006 09:02

The Duke of Devonshire, Balham

Top boozer. Good beer and food, moreover good table footy! laid back bar staff who had no qualms about my brother and I getting well oiled whilst utilizing said footy and everyones favorite pig skin, the arrows board!

31 May 2006 08:58

Old Wheatsheaf, Frimley Green

not a bad boozer, tad pricey mind

14 May 2006 18:11

The Links, Fleet

Havn't been in here for ages, however, surely this is one of the worst hostelries in Fleet, and that takes some doing as Fleet has one good pub. I'd give it a 1/10, and that's because I'm in a good mood. This pub has no atmosphere apart from people 'up for the ruck'!

18 Feb 2006 15:56

The Fox and Hounds, Heacham

Good boozer. Own Micro-brewery on site. No frills, pool table, 2 of their own Fox beers generally on and Adnams and a guest. also had 7.5% farm cider on when I was there. a proper pub!

14 Jan 2006 15:20

The Old Courthouse, Cove

Umm, what can I say about this abonimation of a boozer? Well, been in here a few times since it opened under the new moniker many years ago now. It has actually got a lot better in the past few years now all the scum has been booted out, still a dump mind. Still, it does serve some 'decent' ale, bar TEA which is always good. It does need to watch it's glass policy, the TEA glasses tend to go walkabout, normally to my folks draining board to be discovered with glee the following morning! It does need a face lift and some decent bar-tends, one girl took nearly 20 mins to furnish me with a round two weeks ago, she had some problem with double Cinzano and lemonade? I've forgotten why she was so bad, oh hang on, it's back to me now, she couldn't speak a word of English, that was it! In Farnborough pub scores I'll give it a 5, on the whole though it'd be a 2

4 Jan 2006 15:01

The Rose and Crown, Snettisham

Splendid pub. Two main bars, Restraunt, family room and hotel at the back. Superb beer and top food. Always a pleasure.

11 Dec 2005 14:56

The Old Fish Market, Bristol

Not a bad boozer, good beer and food. But why o why have a pub with 3 massive screens and not show sport?

9 Nov 2005 17:38

The Roundhill Tavern, Brighton

could be a good pub, but they let chavs in. Barman almost started a fight with a mate of mine when he complained that his drink was flat, cue harsh stairs from the locals all night

24 Sep 2005 22:09

The Railway Hotel, Brighton

Use to be an ok boozer despite the landlord trying to chuck me out for having a CD playing seperate boxed up one time

24 Sep 2005 22:06

Seven Stars, Brighton

Yeah, it was one of the places to go in 1996.

Did use to serve late thursdays mind!

24 Sep 2005 22:04

The Bath Arms, Brighton

Hit and miss boozer, mainly miss. Horrible in the summer at w/e's when it gets full of chavs from Scumdon who wear to much bad gold.

Still, it has been known to sell half decent ale now and again.

24 Sep 2005 22:00

The Font and Firkin, Brighton

A sad parady to its former glory. 6-8 years ago this was a top pub serving the well known, and well drunk Dogbolter and other Firkin greats. Sadly now just full of not very nice people!

24 Sep 2005 21:57

The Dove Inn, Micheldever Station

Should be better, used to be quite a nice boozer. My favorite place name in Hants though

24 Sep 2005 15:53

The Chandos, Trafalgar Square

A fine pub, prefer it during the day than at night. Get a sofa as per beermeup's exaltations. I prefer to drink beer here myself as opposed to the one below who likes to drink 'peer'???

24 Sep 2005 14:41

The Boot, Weymouth

Fully endorse the note below, a great pub, excellent beer and superb atmosphere. Tucked nicely out he way of the tourist to boot, natch!

24 Sep 2005 14:36

The Rope Walk, Bristol

Good pub, excellent beer, well kept and decent food. Watch the locals at kicking out time at w/e's. Can be a bit of a dodgy area, but that isn't the pubs fault!

24 Sep 2005 14:17

The Crown and Sceptre, Fitzrovia

Odd pub, beer hit adn miss, though they did let me drink in here until 7am one new years eve/day, was 1991 mind!

24 Sep 2005 14:13

The King and Queen, Fitzrovia

This pub has always been hit and miss, but they did use to love the lock inn (sic)!

24 Sep 2005 14:12

The Chequers Inn, Well

Superb pub that hasn't changed in the 17 years on and off I've been frequenting. Great food and the Landlord was very kind to me after I wrote off my car outside one night, sober mind!

24 Sep 2005 14:07

The Anchor Inn, Lower Froyle

Great pub, always has been. Just beware of the Morris dancers in the summer, give thursdays a miss!

24 Sep 2005 14:06

The Star Inn, Bentley

The Star has always been a great boozer.

24 Sep 2005 14:05

The Sandrock, Boundstone

Went here recently, first time in 14 years. Still good beer and food, shame it's got more of a food place now. Used to love the 'spit and sawdust' nature of the old cider house! Still, time waits for no man etc etc!

24 Sep 2005 14:04

The Feathers Hotel, Dersingham

Good pub (better of the two in Village). 3 bars and restaurant. Excellent food, tad pricey but worth it. Good ales, Adnams, bass and one guest: Youngs Special and 6X been on recently. cider is a must, Old Rosie from the cask, ummmm!

No TV but has got a seperate room with a bar with pool table, darts and bar skittles etc. A good pub with a huge beer garden!

24 Sep 2005 13:56

The Coach and Horses, Dersingham

An ok boozer, good beers but lacking on the cider front. Foods good, excellent beer garden with adventure playground type thing for the nippers! Does have big TV for sports, pool table and duke box!

24 Sep 2005 13:52

The Evening Star, Brighton

This is a top pub, oh to live in Brighton again, a great pub on a weekend afternoon, used to sell superb corriander beer, also a good range of ciders!

4 Sep 2005 13:31

The Highbury Vaults, Bristol

Top pub, good games and beer. Excellent food and a really nice beer garden. Shame it's up a hill!

3 Sep 2005 18:28

The Miners Arms, Bristol

Top pub, spent many a waster hour in here, you can keep most of the central Bristol boozers, this is the nuts!

3 Sep 2005 18:18

The Bridge Inn, Bristol

This is a sensational pub. Excellent beer from Bath Ales, nice and small, very friendly. Excellent on a winters eve!

3 Sep 2005 18:15

The Cornubia, Bristol

A bit hit and miss, but generally a hit. Good beer, varied choice. Food is on/off, but a nice boozer tucked out the way.

3 Sep 2005 18:14

The Shakespeare, Bristol

If you can stand the mock tudor decor then it's a good boozer. Good beer, food is good and locals are ok. Used to work across the road and enjoyed many lunchtimes and afterwork sessions here.

3 Sep 2005 18:11

The Reckless Engineer, Bristol

Good beer, handy for station, not bad for gigs, better pubs near by!

3 Sep 2005 18:09

The Bunch of Grapes, Bristol

Excellent pub, fantastic beer and loads of choice. Always good to hear the Clash on the jukebox!

3 Sep 2005 18:04

The Bag O' Nails, Bristol

This pub is tragic, beer is ok'ish, but the rest of it is very poor

3 Sep 2005 18:02

The Admiral Nelson, Whitton

This is a strange pub, I've only been in once, after a hard days manual labour. Found it odd, and the landlord was bawling some dude out. Full of chavs and odd folk, but I'd go again....

3 Sep 2005 17:50

The Coat and Badge, Putney

was, is, always will be a crap boozer! Poor beer, not atmosphere, a right let down!

3 Sep 2005 17:37

The Half Moon, Putney

Quality boozer as long as you are not on the pool table side. Good beer, friendly and do good gigs. well worth a visit, gig or not!

3 Sep 2005 17:35

The Bricklayers Arms, Putney

This is an ok pub, at least they turned it back into what it was before its ill-advised 'refurb'!

Good beer, and well worth a look up for local watching.

3 Sep 2005 17:33

The Dukes Head, Putney

Also a piece of film trivia, this is the pub that the infamous Traffic Warden scene was filmed outside in the great film featuring Peter Sellars, The Magic Christian!

3 Sep 2005 17:31

The Dukes Head, Putney

Great pub, excellent ales and good food. Shame they stopped serving S&V peanuts a few years back. Good atmosphere and nice that it still has different bars and table footy.

I've never found the rowing fraternity a problem apart from the lead up to, and including Boat Race day. Does rather overcharge for New Years Eve mind!

3 Sep 2005 17:24

The Dove Inn, Hammersmith

This is the best of pubs and the worst of pubs! Overall it's a top pub, excellent beer, good atmosphere, and good food. However, it is not always like this, try to go on a sat evening, or a sunday lunchtime and it's rammed, food goes downhill and gets populated by people not there for the beer, just to say they've been, mugs! Overall, a 7, wish we could leave half marks!

3 Sep 2005 17:20

The George, Hammersmith

I'm surprised this pub musters a 1.3/10 (at the time of writing). When I was in here last the beer was rough and as for the bar staff, well let me regail...

I walk in, order a pint of Youngs Special, the bar bird tries hard to enunciate the words 'it's not on', despite the badge not being turned round. So after waiting for the customary 'what else would you like' I enquire what else is on as I could see. After a lot of tutting and panting (big girl) I finally manage to order a pint. Said pint arrives with about 2 inches of head, I pay, let it settle then when I get the change I ask her to top it up. Upon this request she grabs the pint, turns to the 'regulars' and screams 'we;ve got a right 'effing' one here'. Still she did top the pint up, just. So hence a 0/10 from me, though my night did get better as I was on the way to Great British Beer fest, where I got well and trully shi......

3 Sep 2005 17:12

The Square Bar, Camberley

Not the same pub it was when I celebrated my 17th b'day here, though that was 1986. Always was a dump!

3 Sep 2005 16:50

Carpenters Arms, Camberley

What's al this about a quiet, old mans pubs, when I used to drink here it was fightsville!

3 Sep 2005 16:48

The Oatsheaf, Fleet

This used to be a great pub back around 1989, used to like it a lot. Went in earlier this year, it's had many refits but was still ok despite Fleet itself going down hill!!!

Wish they would bring the goat back, well it's now dead, but it was quality having a goat on a long tether roaming the back garden during the summer

3 Sep 2005 16:45

The Queen's Head, Dogmersfield

This used to be a fantastic boozer, rain or shine. These days it's more, nay, totally a foodie place, but still top notch!

3 Sep 2005 16:34

The Coach and Horses, Rotherwick

What has happene to this boozer????? between 1990 and 2004 it was a great pub, loads of beers, kept really well. Went their last month, 3 non-descript ales, badly kept, very disappointing. Looks like the previous may of been a tad overconfident, it was also completely empty, something I've never seen before and a sure sign of its fall from grace!

The Hen and Chicken, Upper Froyle

...I don't it's changed. I havn't been here for 12 years, but it was still good then, nice ales and good food!

The Falcon, Clapham Junction

Good boozer, been nipping in here for years and the re-fit a few years ago took nothing away from it. Good beer, top cheese sangers and ok service. It's a huge pub and has about 4 plasma screens for sport.

You can also sit and sup safe in the knowledge that you're not in the Slug and Fetish next door!

The Windmill on the Common, Clapham Common

Agreed with the note below, this pub should be getting 9/10 for where it's situated and its clientele. For a youngs pub the beer is not that good, the food generally is sub-standard and the people employed behind the bar don't have a clue about serving, or being any kind of bar staff. However, it is right on he common, but if I was you take you own beer and sit outside on the common during the summer

The Mayfair Tavern, Tooting

This pub is superb as a local, not that I am. Genial bar staff, Magners by the case load, pool table, darts and a splendid duke box that caters for all needs as one of my brothers and I can testify. Moreover, being situated to the right, but encased by, the Tooting Islamic Centre only adds to the ambience and serene atmosphere that the Mayfair exudes. All round, a simply stunning pub with good views of roadrage and a great banana shop to boot! For the full experience, round off your night with a quality curry down at the Mirch Masala (213 Upper Tooting Road). Enjoy........

The Mitre Hotel, Tooting

A shocking pub, never has the human race looked so mis-guided and wrong in dress, outlook and persona. Anyone with any sense whilst in Tooting would head of to the simply superb Mayfair Tavern underneath Tooting Islamic Centre, now that is a good pub!

Great pub, it's a Youngs so you would expect nothing less. Good beer and superb food, even the glass extension has taken nothing away from the pub.

The Sugar Loaf, Easton

Good pub with good beers, Easton beer is well nice, always manage to spend as much on the duke box as the beer!

The Chelsea Inn, Easton

Top top pub. I've been a tad scathing on pubs in my old stomping ground, but this is a gem. Excellent and varied beers, both ale and lager, plus some good gliders! Really relaxed, friendly pub with internet access via 2 computers in the back. Does have a garden but never seen it open.

The Black Horse, Redfield

My first time in this pub was greeted with a funny aside by the bar wench: '....it's a shite pub, but it's cheap...'! She wasn't wrong, chalk your name up for pool if you fancy a fight with the monobrowed locals!

2 Sep 2005 14:47

The Fire Engine, Redfield

Good for footy and cricket watching. Does show La Liga on sat and sunday nights, and has a Juve shirt on the wall, FORZA!!!

2 Sep 2005 14:44

Old Stillage, Redfield

Funny pub, plenty of agro around and skank heads!

2 Sep 2005 14:43

St Georges Hall, Redfield

Umm, where do I start?? Beer: good selection but poorly kept. Food: its a Wetherspoons so you know it's bad. Clientele: it's a back end of Bristol pub, so there mainlly inbreds. Did see a great fight started by the barman once mind. Overall, it's still the best pub on Church Road, thank god I moved!!!

2 Sep 2005 14:42

The Old Green Tree, Bath

Superb pub, good beer and top large non-smoking room in the back, great stuff and a top landlord, well funny.

2 Sep 2005 14:35

2 Sep 2005 14:23

The Frog and Frigate, Southampton

Grate boozer with a grate upstairs for bands and stuff

2 Sep 2005 14:20

The Ham and Blackbird, Farnborough

This boozer has always been very poor. My first time in there ended with a ban as a unused, but unwrapped condom somehow found its way into a mustard pot, well funny!

2 Sep 2005 14:19

The Hand In Hand, Brighton

Sorry to read the last comment, I lived around the corner from this pub and it was always great beer and stuff. The Kemptown beer is superb, as is the SID! Good pub!

2 Sep 2005 13:40

The Bugle Inn, Brighton

What a boozer. I've been drinking in this pub for over 10 years, excellent beer, great staff and regulars, total quality. Even Though I now live 160 miles away, it's still my first stop on regular sojourns down to Brighton, G'on Seagulls!

2 Sep 2005 13:37

The Plough and Horses, Cove

Used to be a great boozer back in the days of Pete and earlier then that. The pub can still furnish you with a descent pint of ale, 6X, Spitfire et al, though the current crop of clientele leaves a lot to be desired.

2 Sep 2005 13:33

The Prince of Wales, Farnborough

Easily the best pub in Farnborough and around. Mant happy times, mainly involving drinking the boeard twice in a day when there was 12 beers on, get in! Quality pub, good food and pleasent regulars. Could do with pickled onions on there ploughmans mind.
