It's more of a restaurant than a pub. The decor is pale grey and bare which makes it feel chilly inside. Beer wasn't awful. Food better but a bit pricey.

Very food-oriented pub, with a big buffet/carvery on as well as a regular menu when I was there. Food was good, beer acceptable, came back for a second visit. Very busy on both evenings we went in.

The Rising Sun, Stourport on Severn
Looked pleasant from the canal so went in for a drink. Beer not awful, not great. Everything else kind of the same. Went to the Black Star to eat instead. Much better.

Black Star, Stourport on Severn
Stopped at this pub on a canal trip. It was cheerful and friendly with good beer, a mix of customers, un-amplified live music and a nice old building. Only problem was no hot food available. Staff apologetic. Came back a few days later on the return trip and had a very good meal. Top quality pub. Shame we didn't have time for more visits.

Last time I was here the power was off, so we had a drink by candlelight. The landlady was very cross with the electricity company, but very pleasant to everyone else. On normal days it is less dramatic, but worth a stop.

Nice pub for a meal, but book a table if there is any chance it will be busy. A bit too restaurant-y to be a really good pub, but still enjoy going there.

Nothing good about this pub. Stupid car park charging system, poor beer, disappointing food, uninterested staff, worn out interior. No going back.

Big paved garden which is ok when the weather allows. Comfortable seating near the front. Beer ok. Staff vary variable and often very young. Best feature: nicer than the Red Cross!

Serves beer. Has seats. If they have live music on you cannot hear yourself speak.

Big enough that you can avoid any customers you don;t like the look of (and there are quite a few of those). Beer ok and cheap. Handy if you''re in Redhill.

I liked this pub before it was done up, but happily it has survived quite well. They still have bar billiards! Worst thing about it is that it''s a bit out of the way.

The Ledger Building, Canary Wharf
I''ve had a lot of lunch times in here. It''s far better than anything else in Canary Wharf (though that''s not saying much). It''s busy enough to keep the beers fresh so it''s unusual to get a dodgy pint. It''s never too busy to get a table. The food is bought in and heated up, but therefore consistently not bad. Altogether, recommended.

I''ve been here a couple of times and enjoyed it. The beer was good, the food was basic but good, and the staff seemed pleased to see us. Possible down side: although it seemed clean, it looks a bit worn - lots of bums have sat on those seat covers over the years.

Stopped at this pub just because I thought a Fulller's pub wouldn't be awful. Nearly turned around as I came in the door because it was 1970s awful, but I was hungry. Had an excellent pint of HSB, and was pleased to find a lower room with a fire place that was much older and more pleasant. I ate macaroni cheese that was competently microwaved. All in all, a strange mixture.

This was the nearest pub when I was in Manchester recently, so went in for lunch. Food (served upstairs only) was not bad, and the staff were friendly. Beer was ok. Carpets could do with a clean. Overall, not terrible, not great.

Went here on a Sunday. Beer and food good. Prices similar to other pubs in the area. Staff fine. Surroundings pleasant. I hadn't visited for years, so I can't comment on all the negative reviews, but maybe it's on the up now?

The food in this pub is pretty good, but don't go when it's busy. The hard part is figuring out if it's busy. Tried booking a table, was told it wasn't necessary, but could hardly get in the door when we arrived, and were ignored by the staff. Beer average. Disappointing, really.

The Albert Arms, Elephant and Castle
This pub used to be ok, but it's been refurbished. It's painted grey and decorated with framed LP covers. One bar was full of tables laid for food. We sat in the other. The beer was ok. There were no other customers. It was all a bit bland. Probably won't go back.

Been here a few lunchtimes over the last few years - seems to have perked up recently. Good choice of beers, even though today I paid £9 for two pints.

Comfortable and pleasant, with lots of choices for food and beer. I went on a Tuesday evening, and I think that staff outnumbered customers. There were six hand pumps on, but not enough drinkers to empty that many barrels before they get past their best. Maybe better to go at the weekend? Some unusual bottled beers, so that was my second drink.
Best thing: there were several Etch-a-Sketches to borrow. Marvellous.

This pub is trying to be a restaurant. When you go in, you see the staff competing to ask if you're eating or drinking. It's disconcerting. Can't complain about the beer, food or decor, but they're too ordinary to make it worth paying the prices. Won't be back.

Basic but comfortable interior, friendly and relaxed staff, decent beer, and tasty pie. There was a problem with the food, but they spotted it before I did. Bit expensive, but maybe not for the location.

Busy pub, popular with local workers. Very small choice of cask beer, but not had a bad pint. Pleasant enough, but could do with a bit more atmosphere. Tennis themed menu today - apparently there's a well known tournament on.

You can sit at the front near the strained glass, or at the back where it's darker, or stand because it's too busy. Beer almost always good. Food a bit pricey.

The Knights Templar, Chancery Lane
It's a Wetherspoons in an old bank. You know what you're getting: good choice of beer, ok food, lots of space (particularly here - very high ceiling)

Oh dear. This pub is closed, and the interior is being stripped. Sad.

I think that this pub got new management a little while back - I overheard someone behind the bar telling a customer that they weren't planning to change anything. Good thing too. It's a curious place, but all the better for that. Real ale choice almost always good, and usually a hand pumped cider too. Food is snacks - toasties, scotch eggs, sausage (singular!) - sometimes called "English tapas".

Quiet at lunch time (except Friday). Guest beers change regularly, so always something interesting to try. Food good and filling. Would be much more popular if it weren't hidden in the back streets, but that just makes it better for those of us who know where it is.

Went here for lunch, which was very busy even though we didn't get there until 2 o'clock. The menu was surprisingly fancy as it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Punters were of all ages and types. They had several beers from the Three Tuns brewery, not too far away. The mild was good. The stout was excellent. The hummus wrap was not bad. Good selection of games in the room to the right of the bar. If it had been warmer, we might have sat out by the stream.

The Ragleth Inn, Little Stretton
Only two pubs in the village - this one is perhaps a little more up market. Beer good. We were only hungry enough for a sandwich, but it was pleasing and you got plenty.

The Green Dragon, Little Stretton
Looks a bit ordinary on the outside, but don't be fooled - very pleasant inside - good beer and good food. Was worth booking as we went on a bank holiday evening and it was very busy.

The Rockingham Arms, Elephant and Castle
This pub gets my vote - good beer, acceptable cheap food, plenty of space and pleasant staff. The other punters are very variable (it is Wetherspoons after all) but I've never had any trouble.

The Three Chimneys, Biddenden
Warm fire places, beams to knock your head on, good beer and food and pleasant staff when I went there. The dining room at the back was less characterful.
