Ye Olde Greene Manne, Rickmansworth

I live in Pinner and there are no decent pubs within 5 miles except Ye Old Green Man. Really like the pub, beer is always on good form, the Timothy Taylor Landlord that I had the other week was so damn good that I had 3 pints. Glad that they don't let anklebiters run amok, not everyone wants to see badly behaved children when they are drinking their beer.

The Gunmakers, Clerkenwell

I had no idea Jeff Bell was gay, he certainly doesn't seem that way inclined. Anyway that aside it is good to see a pub run by someone who has a genuine passion for real ale.

The Waggon and Horses, Elstree

I paid a visit last week after a 20+ year absence, the pub is much larger than it used to be and looks really great. I loved the real fires, beams, comfy armchairs and real Christmas tree. The beer was on very good form with festive guest ales on. There is now live music on certain nights. I'll definitely be back, the only downside, you need a car to get to there as it is a fair old walk from Elstree station along busy Watling Street.

The Jugged Hare, Pimlico

I have been drinking here on and off for the last 5 years or so. The Fullers beers are always served in top condition. I went in a few weeks back and had a couple of utterly sublime pints of London Porter, fabulous beer, only downside was the 3.40 per pint price tag that went with that beer. I guess if the beer is that good I shouldn't grumble. Very civilised place that doesnt attract the yobs.

The Gatehouse, Highgate

Just had a pleasant few pints in the Gatehouse this evening, served by a cheeful and pretty Polish girl. The weather was great today so we sat in the flower filled garden drinking tasty pints of Otter beers at a very civilised price for Highgate village. I have been coming here on and off for many years and will continue to do so.

The Greyhound, Hendon

I used to really love this pub a five or six years ago. It is now rather tired looking and we all know what has happened to Youngs beers. I remember drinking excellent pints of Winter Warmer during the dark months. The pint of Youngs Ordinary that I had in here a few weeks back was quite horrid. NW4 deserves better than this!

J J Moons, Ruislip Manor

This place is always busy, it is very much a locals pub. Service is swift and the Sunday roasts are pretty good. I come here once a month for the excellent selection of guest ales, you can guarantee that there will be a decent ale on every time you visit.

The Rising Sun, Mill Hill

I was in this pub last week when the sun was shining brightly and it was 25 degrees. You are actually in London NW7 but it seems as though you are in an English village a long way from the smoke. Good food and ales kept in good condition.

The Land of Liberty, Peace and Plenty, Heronsgate

Nice peaceful location near leafy affluent Chorleywood and close to the busy M25. An intelligent beer selection with beers served in very good condition. I like the mobile phone ban too and wish more pubs were brave enough to adopt this. Would definitely return here when I can get a lift. My only criticism is that I felt that the landlord/lady give the impression that you are very privileged to be drinking in their pub.

The White Horse, Parsons Green

I travel down from NW London to visit the White Horse on a regular basis. I have been visiting the place for about a decade now. The food here is excellent but a little expensive and portions are rather small. There are a lot of Fionas and Tarquins who drink here but that does not bother me as they are better than some of the pond life that frequent the pubs in my part of London. The best thing about the White Horse is the BEER. The draught Belgian beers are simply superb and are picked by a man who knows something about beer Mr Mark Dorber.
