The Duke Of Wellington, Wareham

Very good pub with good food. Beer very well kept with a good choice of micros. Nice outside drinking area. Staff very pleasant and knowledgable.

The Square and Compass, Worth Matravers

Yes it can be crowded but the family running it must be doing something right as it is very busy even on a early June afternoon. Beer is well kept, food I would not bother as the pasties are expensive but it has a great location and the staff are efficent and friendly.

The Castle Inn, Corfe Castle

Very well run welcoming pub. Only two beers but both very well kept. We were visiting Swanage for a week but visited 3 times eating there twice. Good food all day which not all the pubs do in Corfe even at weekends. Large garden over looks the local steam railway.

Kings Arms, Langton Matravers

Beer OK but the food did not appeal so we went to the Castle at Corfe. Staff had this take it or leave it attitude so we left.

The Red Lion, Swanage

Excellent pub catering for locals and holiday makers alike. Very good food, beer kept very well. The staff are very pleasant and knowledgable. Very good range of ciders both bottled and on from the cask. Very near to a perfect pub.

Crows Nest Inn, Swanage

Whilst the beer and the food are OK the new management have not learned how to cope when a pub is busy. We had to wait from 8 till 9:30 on 30 May for our food even though we had booked in advance. The excuse that we are busy is poor they saw us waiting but ignored us. If we had not spoke up I expect we would be still waiting. If you want slow service this might be for you but if you want good service by very good staff try the Red Lion or White Swan

The Noughts and Crosses, Polperro

Average beer served by surly staff who did not like being told to top up a less than full pint. The head did even reach the top of the glass, let alone the beer

The Crumplehorn Inn, Polperro

Friendly pub with excellent bar staff. Its a bit foot oriented, but I did have my best pint of the week when I stayed recently in Polperro Skinners Spriggen. Food is also reccommended especially the fresh fish dishes.
