Hed'On Inn, Hedon

Nice welcoming Micro-pub, the kind of place, that you can walk into - without it just being about the Real Ale, as they have Carlsberg on as well! Well done owners :-)

3 Feb 2016 20:45

The Roebuck Inn, Rishton

Cheap, safe & near the Leeds - Liverpool canal.Had Doom bar on, it was acceptable.

3 Jul 2015 23:18

The Navigation Inn, Blackburn

Nice pub - got a Navi-tan there, which essentially means you sit outside sunning yourself!! Great value boozer & friendly locals.

3 Jul 2015 23:12

The Hare and Hounds, Padiham

If you are in the area, please visit. Great real ale selection, top landlord too.

3 Jul 2015 23:00

The New Inn, Foulridge

Really nice pub , located very close to the Leeds Liverpool canal. Visited 01/07/15 & the Thwaites Original was only £2.70 a pint!! Food was excellent too with dinners,(I don't call it Lunch) from a fiver. Staff were very friendly, just wished I'd have tried the Stew & Hard!!

3 Jul 2015 22:58

The Greyhound Inn, Saxton

Wow. What an absolutely beautiful pub. Bit out the way but if you love Sams, well worth it.

25 Jan 2015 19:53

The Alexandra, Hornsea

I've never been in here, but as it has recently undergone a major refurbishment, thought I would give it a try. I must admit, its a really nice pub. It was quiet when I was in earlier today. Had two real ales on, Doom Bar & a seasonal one, tried the Doom Bar & it was pretty good

28 Dec 2014 18:58

The Friendly Forrester, Bridlington

Typical edge of an estate pub, suppose a bit similar to the National in Hull. Black Sheep was ok & not badly priced. Plenty of seating and a large outdoor area.

5 Oct 2014 23:40

Ship Inn, Sewerby

Nice Pub, at the end of a great walk from Brid north bay. A little expensive, but the Jennings Bullseye I had today was very nice. Staff are a bit miserable though, except the guy who runs the little burger shack outside- he's a legend!!

5 Oct 2014 23:03

The Star Inn, Filey

Nice Pub, tastefully decorated inside & a good selection of Real ales, Theakstons & Black sheep ale , plus two others. Tried the Theakstons & was very good

20 Jul 2014 21:52

The Minerva Hotel, Hull

Nice pint of Tetley's to be had in here (£2-80), along with 5 or six others. Food was good also. Will visit again.

12 Apr 2014 17:18

The Turks Head, Scarborough

Oh Dear!! Went in 1 person in, plus the bar man. No real ale, even had the charity collection tied up to one of the two pump clip free hand pumps. Did not bother staying.

6 Mar 2014 21:16

The Hope and Anchor, Blacktoft

A little out the way, but well worth it. Had 3 real ales on, during my visit, all in top condition. Food is well above average (Try the steak pie) and the place is an ideal location for any special family gathering.

30 Jun 2013 09:39

Mother Shipton Inn, Knaresborough

Bit expensive, but suppose given it good position I should expect the price's had Theakston and Wainwrights on when in today and was good quality .

31 May 2013 21:13

The Wellington Inn, Knaresborough

Found this a most welcoming pub. H ave not been in here for 5 years but the land lord & landlady were spot on today. And beer very well kept.

31 May 2013 21:03

Blind Jacks, Knaresborough

Nice pub - but the young lass behind the bar spoilt it for me. Obviously a student just guesting, but none the less had a poor attitude. Bit pricey as well, much better pubs nearby.

31 May 2013 20:56

The Masons Arms, York

Welcoming and friendly, good choice of real ales. I went for Northallerton dark which was very good. Must mention the interior, really well kept and real fires. tightest car park in the world though!!

3 Mar 2013 22:11

The Cask Inn, Scarborough

This was the first Pub on our tour of Scarborough today, it did not disappoint.
They had Theakstons best, Old Peculiar, Caledonian XP and Flying Scotsman on the wicket and was reasonably priced too. Nice pub layout with plenty of little rooms. Would recommend if you are in the area. (Have down loaded a Photo, if the moderator can get around to authorising it ).

22 Feb 2013 20:01

The Gardeners Arms, Hull

A very under rated pub this one. yes the back sports bar is exactly what you would expect, but the front bar is very impressive. Cosy great choice of Real ales at least 5 when I was last in( ''twixt Xmas-New Year) mainly from the Marston's portfolio but very good all the same.

26 Jan 2013 20:42

The White Horse Inn, Beverley

Nellie's was in fine form when I went in on Sunday 11th of November. Old brewery was spot on and the place was very busy.

14 Nov 2012 19:07

The Kings Head Hotel, Beverley

Roomy Marston's pub in prominent position in the main market square, usually 3 real ales on- 2-70 ish. Nice beer garden at rear for sunny summer days. Gets very crowded weekend evenings but a nice place during the day.

20 Oct 2012 18:46

The Maltings, York

Must echo the previous comments, a very nice pub indeed!!

19 Oct 2012 21:01

The York Arms, York

Nice pub, due a refurb but the beer tonight was spot on.

19 Oct 2012 20:51

The Hansom Cab, York

Great atmosphere tonight when we were in, really is an exception to the rule of most Sam Smiths pub's and a good mix of young and old.

19 Oct 2012 20:41

The Seahorse Hotel, York

Always enjoy a visit to the Seahorse. Did not disappoint when I was in earlier today, staff very friendly too.

19 Oct 2012 20:26

The Brown Cow, York

What a S**T hole. I am usually quite relaxed in pubs of this type but sorry this place sucks!! Horrible atmosphere and I kid you not, there was a slug trail across the carpet in the "Lounge". Don't Bother!!

19 Oct 2012 20:24

Goodmanham Arms, Goodmanham

Re-visited on Saturday to find the pub busy at 6pm. They have started brewing their own beer now- "Bitter and Twisted" which is very good and currently 2 a pint!! Worth going out of your way to check out this dream of a pub for real ale fans, you will not be disappointed.

4 Sep 2012 20:42

The Jolly Sailors Inn, Whitby

Visited on 05/08/12, sat out back in the beer garden and enjoyed a couple of OBB. Typical Sam's but as I am a fan of Sam Smiths it was an enjoyable afternoon.

22 Aug 2012 20:38

The Pack Horse Inn, Bridlington

Only had Mansfield cask on today when we went in, but it was an acceptable pint. Quiet when we was in.

10 Aug 2012 21:36

The Bull and Sun, Bridlington

Very nice pub, worth checking out if in the area. Nice pint of Rough in there.

My God avoid!!!!!

The Black Lion, Bridlington

Still no real ale, did not stay. Shame used to be ok.

10 Aug 2012 21:32

The Queens Hotel, Bridlington

Nice little boozer actually, they had only 1 real ale on but the Wold Top Gold was good and Katie, the young lady who runs it, was a delightful hostess. Worth a try if in the area.

10 Aug 2012 21:31

Old Ship Inn, Bridlington

Most expensive pub on our trip of Brid old town today! John smith Cask was acceptable though.

10 Aug 2012 21:28

The New Crown Hotel, Bridlington

Still boarded up!!

10 Aug 2012 21:26

The Telegraph, Bridlington

Wow!! What a transformation, this place used to be a two room basic boozer but now it is a wonderful open plan pub, whose restoration is both sympathetic to its heritage but also has given it a feel of brand new pub, with a very nice beer garden. They had Wold top anglers retreat, copper dragon heritage & black gold as well as steam box on today and at 2.60 a pint, all where gratefully received, Please visit if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed

10 Aug 2012 21:12

The Victoria Hotel, Whitby

Spent a enjoyable hour in here on 04/08/12, great views over the bay from the beer garden. Not a problem to just, pop in for just a beer like some Hotels.Very nice selection at the bar including Theakston XB, Best, Crime of passion (Very good) as well as Cameron's Best bitter and Strong arm. Agree with previous poster this is the best pub in RHB.

8 Aug 2012 21:47

Highlander, Scarborough

Decent enough pub, a tad expensive at 3.15 for Wold Top, but a very nice Barmaid, made up for it. Food looked good but didn't try it.

28 Jun 2012 20:52

The White Horse Farm Inn, Rosedale Abbey

Nice friendly pub, lovely views from the front beer garden. Had Black sheep, Theakstons Best and Jennings Queen Bee at the wicket during our visit. Not overpriced, 2-80ish for a pint, worth the short walk up the hill from Rosedale.

7 Jun 2012 19:51

The Woolpack Inn, Beverley

Lovely Victorian pub in a nice area, bit pricey though but the Real ale choice was good (7 on Last Night). Would go again.

3 Mar 2012 11:18

The New Crown Hotel, Bridlington

Boarded up when I past on the 23rd of Feb.

25 Feb 2012 12:35

The Golden Ball, Scarborough

Nine of us, spent an hour here yesterday, beer was on top form and the service from the landlady was impeccable. Great view from the bar across the harbour.Would highly recommend.

18 Feb 2012 16:26

The Black Lion, Scarborough

Took a chance on this pub and have to admit, the one real ale on (which was 49er) was good. Barmaid was friendly and the pub was clean and tidy.

18 Feb 2012 16:22

Prior John, Bridlington

About time this place had a up to date review. Went in earlier today, to find the place quite full, though not rammed. They had the Ruddle's on for 1.29 but I opted for the Old Empire which in all honesty was very good. The place is due a bit of a revamp but all in all, it is a good place to be in on a cold January afternoon. On a sub note a friend of mine has traced his ancestry back to Brid, his great-great-great Grandad owned the house which is this pubs beer garden. its quite ironic really as he was a devout Methodist!!

7 Jan 2012 18:28

Spinning Mule, Bolton

Handy for the theatres, but as per the previous post it is a little grubby. I Have to report, a very good bar maid though, very pleasant, pretty and Knew who was next!

30 Dec 2011 16:54

Ship Inn, Keyingham

Friendly, local village pub.Only went in there, as a relative of mine was in the band that was playing and was pleasantly surprised to see two real ales on, Tetley and York brewery terrier. The latter was of a reasonable standard, did not try the tetley's.

9 Oct 2011 12:30

Crooked Billet, Ryehill

Interesting, cosy old pub, with a roaring fire.Had Cumberland, hobgoblin, Oxford Gold, and a Ring-wood on last night. Went for the Cumberland & Oxford Gold and both where very good. Certainly worth checking out.

9 Oct 2011 12:12

The Old Scalby Mills, Scarborough

Dropped in there earlier today, had a nice pint of Wold Top North Bay - a tad expensive at 3 but heh-ho! A lady ordered a Bacon Banjo whilst I was waiting for my pint only to be told there would be an half an hour wait. Even I could make one quicker than that!!!

2 Sep 2011 21:36

The Plumbers Arms, Chester

Odd little pub nestled between modern shopping centre entrance, as we walked up on a Thursday evening the Hustle was blaring out from a Karaoke, must of the customers where stood on the front smoking.

Only one hand pull beer on - Wainwright which was not bad. Had a laugh with the lass behind the Bar, asked her if she could turn the music up!!

11 Aug 2011 20:29

The Boot Inn, Chester

As I am a massive fan of Sam Smiths Old brewery Bitter and Sam's pubs, I was really looking forward to visiting the Boot and I must admit, it did not disappoint. Lovely old pub with a lot of character, beer was fine and even my lager loving, modern cafe bar going, brother-in-law even liked the place

11 Aug 2011 20:17

Marine Hotel, Hornsea

Pleased to report, this pub has had some interior refurbishment.Much improved, had a nice pint of Deuchars IPA. Seems to be doing ok.

1 Aug 2011 22:12

The Cricketers Arms, Bridlington

A pub in real decline, very sad but hopefully some aspiring soul could, perhaps reinvigorate the place. Barman knew his stuff when I was in (4Th Feb) but alas no real ale and at 7pm us 4 and 3 people in the place.

12 Feb 2011 18:26

Marine Hotel, Hornsea

Quiet agree with Noggin46. Lovely staff, beer fine but a the total lack of investment in this pub is a disgrace, especially considering its prominent position on the seafront.

12 Feb 2011 18:01

Goodmanham Arms, Goodmanham

Went in November last year and have to say was really impressed.Had Theakstons, Wold top and a Hambleton beer on. Tried all Three (My Mrs Driving- god love her) all very good I have to say, roaring Fire and the place was more or less full. Would highly recommend if you are in the vicinity.

5 Feb 2011 18:59

The Angel Inn, Scarborough

Nice pub, beer always spot on. Had Cropton Two pints on when I was last in and very nice it was too. Worth popping in to look at the collections of saucy postcards displayed on the walls. Great Chippy next door by the way, called Smallfry, probably the best in Scarborough.

5 Feb 2011 18:14

The Leeds Arms, Scarborough

3.14 Yes 3.14 for a pint of Landlord. Lovely Pub, just let down by the price of it's beer.

5 Feb 2011 17:49

The Scarborough Arms, Scarborough

Popped in Yesterday (4th Feb) only to be told by the barman that they had no real ale on as it's not busy enough. Wonder why!! We promptly left.

5 Feb 2011 17:42

Station Buffet, Bridlington

Wow. Great place for a beer.Much better that any railway bar that one has been in.

23 Jan 2011 19:49

The Marine Bar, Bridlington

Nice pub, Nice beer. Enough said

23 Jan 2011 19:24

Fat Lill's, Witney

For a music club, I was really surprised to see Two real ales on offer. When you consider what is available around the Oxford gold and the Tribute were probably the best real ale on offer in Witney. 2.80 a pint not bad either, especially as a Yorkshire man down South. Fantastic Staff and entertainment on offer.

23 Jan 2011 18:54

The Half Moon, Elloughton

My god!! 3.11 for a blacksheep come on now!!

23 Jan 2011 18:49

The Triton Inn, Brantingham

Lovely Pub, great beer and food. Who could ask for more.

23 Jan 2011 18:46

The Buccaneer, Brough

Sorry Phil but you are out of order. The Buccaneer is a truly great Yorkshire pub, with first class real ales and great staff to boot!!

23 Jan 2011 18:44

The Manor Farm, Hull

This was my local as a lad, back then it was called the Wildfowler and the Bar was fantastic. Unfortunately this has now been sacrificed in the to extend the dining area. Do miss it though.Food very good I have to say but after an encouraging start, the real ale appears to be sadly lacking in quality and depth.

23 Jan 2011 18:34

Zachariah Pearson, Hull

The Staff are the difference between this and other 'spoons. Very friendly, no matter if you are popping in for breakfast (We visit regularly) or at last orders. Real ale, always very good.

23 Jan 2011 18:24

St John's Hotel, Hull

Wonderful pub, a real gem.

23 Jan 2011 18:20

Old Grey Mare, Hull

Shame they got rid of the Tetley's in favour of G.K.I.P.A but still a nice pub and the Duty manager is a top bloke. Thursday curry club is top's.

23 Jan 2011 18:16

The Old Zoological, Hull

Very sketchy real ale on offer, lacks the consistency, that a pub of this size and position should have.

23 Jan 2011 18:05

Pave, Hull

I must echo the previous comments, this establishment has top quality Yorkshire Real ales, I can honestly say, I have never had a bad pint, even when it's rammed.

23 Jan 2011 17:50

The National, Hull

This pub's attitude towards real ale is sadly declining, on my last visit the EPA I had was well on the turn.
