Throgmorton's, Bank

Chuffed to see this on The Apprentice getting refitted - agree with the previous comment, the colonial feel must be retained

The Swan, Stockwell

Great fun! And there is a 80% chance you will wake up next to an Irish gal the next morning.

Last time it happened, the girls housemate burst in at 9am screaming "What are you doing bringing random guys home?! OH MY GOD HE'S ENGLISH!!"

spiffing

Baobab, Colliers Wood

Metal sheets over the windows and doors - And a sign stating "Everything of value has been removed from the premises". Although I think that was the case some time ago.

King Of Diamonds, Camden

I work round the corner and have actually had our spring office function on the terrace outside which was great fun.
I came in with three colleagues after having 2 pints each in the City of York up the road, we had a round of drinks in the KOD and then when one of us went to the bar to order another, he was refused service by the assistant manager for being too drunk!!
The jobsworth then refused to reverse his decision after obviously realising he was wrong.
I dont know if he had ever been in charge of a pub before but the whole situation was ridiculous.

This place is a funny one...

It looks a bit worn out round the edges, the staff get a bit grumpy and it's not cosy enough to be a nice local but it gets packed out on a Friday and Saturday night.

It's not a great place to pull (single girls would go somewhere better for that and it's a bit of a sausage-fest too) but great for a dance and they flaunt health and safety by actively encouraging people to dance drunkenly on the bar, which is a good thing.
They also have good beer (usually) and the cottage pie is nice.

But there's just something not right about it.

The Royal Standard, Colliers Wood

I came in for a drink after work with my housemate, we were both in suits and began to be heckled almost immediatly.
"Go back to Borehamwood!!" They cried. "This is ColliersWood!"
In the summer all tatoo'd up pikeys sit out front with their track suited, pot bellied infants tottering about in the gutter.
It needs to go for the sake of the neighbourhood...
