The Sun Inn, Englefield Green

This pub has really gone down hill in the last year; cloudy beer and stale sandwiches.

New Leathern Bottle, Jealotts Hill

A new licensee took over a year ago. He has really cleaned the pub up. Excellent bar snacks and a super Sunday lunch. Always a good selection of good real ales. Also runs a monthly classic car meet. Personally I do not like the permanent piped music. televised sports and gaming machine. Good for kids too

The Stag and Hounds, Binfield

Has had a major makeover this year....... rather gastro style. The barrels of real ale behind the bar have gone and it has lost the pub atmosphere. Tend to be full of thirty somethings with laptops and smart phones. Beer and food are fine if a little on the high priced side.

Jack O'Newbury, Binfield

Beer has always been good over the last few years. I do recommend the Sunday lunch

The Victoria Arms, Binfield

The landlord is leaving...... pity he was very good. Two weeks ago there was a serious problem with the drains and the whole place reeked of sewage....... I left very quickly; shame.

The Frog, Skirmett

Beer, ambience and staff all good..... food rather poor and expensive. Liver was raw and the vegetables cold when we popped in for lunch. The menu is too large and my baked cod on top of a green mess was awful.

The Bell, Waltham St Lawrence

Popped in at lunch time this week ........tried several beers which were rather warm, old and flat but the IPA was superb. It took me nearly half an hour to get served although there were not many people there. Loads of messing about with orders and credit cards.....needs a separate queue for drinks only.

The cumberland sausage roll was a delight as is the venue but staffing is probably the problem with peaks and troughs in the number of cutomers.

The Fox, North Waltham

Yesterday I had two pints..... both were the dregs at the end of a barrel. Very cloudy stuff. The fish pie dish of the day was a porridge of cheesy goo with half boiled potatoes and no discernable fish. Bill was over 17 quid.

Guess they are only used to one visit customers and rely on trade form the nearby crem!
