A pub of two halves. The front bar is truly awful and smells of the toilets that lead off it. The back snug though is a great little place. I would give the food a miss though.

A great little local pub. Yeah, it's changed a little in the last decade and the decor isn't quite as homely as it was but it's still a fab place. Always packed which what feels like proper 'locals' and the staff are fantastic. Still good for real ales if that's you're after.

I really love this pub. It's overpriced, they run out of vital ingredients so half the menu is usually off. But yet I still love it. Great atmosphere, chilled and a good place to meet friends. Weekend afternoons are the best as the evenings can be pretty packed.

The Queen Victoria, Gosforth
Now called the Queen Victoria. When I went in the other week, they were playing The Smiths: The Queen is Dead' - Irony? Maybe - because it is pretty darn awful in there. Don't drink the wine unless you're used to drinking vinegar.
