This pub is ok but the Ales never change and the choice is unimaginative. Worth a visit but then go to Far From the Madding Crowd and the Royal Blenhiem for choice of Ales.

Good pub, good choice of Ales with choice and description clear on a blackboard. White Horse Ales lovely and if you go to Oxford and want the best 2 Ale Pubs, go to this one and Far From the Madding Crowd.

Visited in May 13 intending to have a quick one and ended up staying for 3 hours. A really good traditional pud serving excellent Hookie Ales, including Mild. 9/10 and "I'll be back"

Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford
Not one of the "oldy-worldy" pubs of Oxford but quite simply, on the basis of Ale, the best. They have one local regular Ale and 6 that constantly change. For me, best of all, it is one of the very few pubs in Oxford where you'll get a Dark Ale. And, friendly staff many of whom know their Ale !

Called in for a quick one on visiting the area and ended up staying for a few with a meal. Good range of beers - and I am not often a Fullers Fan. Would certainly recomend this friendly pub.

Yuk ! - very unenthusiastic staff, long waits to get served and disappointing ales.

Wow ! - this is a gem. We were visiting the area from Oxford and visited this pub - just about the best thing we did on our trip. 4 Ales on and very friendly and enthusiastic bar staff. It was the village festival weekend and the Landlord had commisioned a celebratory Ale from a local micro-brewery, which with another Guest Ale and 2 Thwaites ales was outstanding. The Landlord also has hopes to develope into a Brew-Pub and given his knowledge and enthusiasim for Ale, I wish I lived in the village. After a few excellent Ales, we decided to eat and had a superb steak. This pub has got it all !

A truly awful pub. Scruffy, under staffed and an unpleasant experience. You know what to expect from Weatherspoons (cheap and not very cheerful) but a saving grace is usually the Ale.
On my visit, they had only 3 ales on - Black Sheep, Ruddles Bitter and another national and boring brand, which was so forgetable that I have forgotten !

New owners and much improved. A lot of work has recently been undertaken but the character of the interior has just about been retained with a nice terraced garden at the rear.
3 Real Ales and well worth a visit.

The Six Bells on the Green, Warborough
Lovely location, especially on a Summer's day/evening.
3 Real Ales so well worth a visit.

Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford
From the outside, it looks modern and uninviting but do go in - a Real Ale drinkers paradise with several beers always on the go with many and varied rotations. And the Landlord takes real pride in his pub and his beers.
A pub in Oxford that regularly serves Real Mild and Stout !
Also has regular live music and the Landlord sets up his own Beer Festivals a number of times during the year.

Friendly pub serving at least 3 Real Ales. And it has a Bar Billiards table - an all to rare site nowadays.
Well worth a visit and it makes a convenient triangle of pubs with the Eagle and Child and the Lamb and Flag.

Not cheap but a real gem. Excellent Real Ales (Adnams and Old Hooky)and a real character for a Landlord. Also right next door to a very good curry house.
A must if you are in the area !

The Olympia Hotel, Selby
Really good pub with a Brewery on site. They had 5 Ales, including 4 of their own. Excellent Ales.
