The Rose and Crown, Southwark

Another from my very best of London pubs! Don't waste time reading this; head on down and enjoy!

The Dover Castle, Marylebone

One of the best kept pub addresses in London; highly recommended. Good quality, cheap beer! A must!

The Beehive, Walworth

Truly one of the very best pubs in London. A must to visit!

The Crown and Sugarloaf, Bride's Lane

A true example of how a good English pub should be run in the Great British manner. The only decent pub now on Fleet Street.

The Punch Tavern, Fleet Street

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Best to put it out of it's misery and turn it into a charmless office block now. It's no longer a decent pub of old. The last reviewer, obviously works in the kitchen, stressing food before Ale on a Beer web site.

The Jerusalem Tavern, Clerkenwell

Nothing really to add to previous comments; The Crown at Clerkenwell is the onlt decent Aje house nearby.

The Prince of Wales, Kennington

A nicer pub, one would certainly be pushed to find in inner London. Good British beer from the garden of Kent. Clean. Fast, attentive and charming bar staff. A must for visitors to the Oval and patrons of Surrey to round off their day. Good atmosphere and fine company. Wish they sold Cigars however behind the bar; then that would truly be heaven on earth.

The White Hart, Kennington

This used to be one of my favorite pubs; well postioned, good service, clean, comfortable and fine food and drink. The Lager is still okay, however, why, oh why is nothing being done to serve up good Ale? Having visited for a pint or two this week, my first pint was vinegar, Doombar, which I pointed out was off and had changed. The replacement too was off too. Why spoil the success of a pleasant pub by neglect of the Ale? Especially with the Prince of Wales around the corner who always serve good Ale. Get it sorted please?

Ye Old Mitre, Holborn

A more pleasurable place to seek out the perfect pint, one would be very troubled to find I think? This is the gem house of the best beer to be found in London and it's off Hatton Garden, a short walk on the right from Holborn circus on the right. Number 8 I think? Clean, presentable and well run by a Scottish Terrier of a man named Scottie. A Wizard of knowledge of the true art of beer keeping and presentation; and a great asset to Fuller's who have just paid a few million for the place. A bargain at any price I'd say.
This month's Mild campaign has been welcomed and been wonderful! And I write as a convert to the stuff now, having wrongly judged it to be an old man's suppage. How wrong I have been all this time. Oh well, with age comes wisdom I trust. And here's hoping that Fuller's continues to follow Scotties fine judgement in beer choices and wide introduction to the London drinker of unknown, but tasty countrywide tipples; alongside Fuller's best of brew too. A great pub for one and all!
