The Mother Red Cap, Archway

I visited this establishment recently for the firs time in several years(Having lived in the area previously) and I have to say as an Irishman in London for 27 years I found this place to be one of the reasons I left Ireland in the first place. Full of sad, morose, bitter idiots wishing for the past. (Yet, in the past they emigrated?) The beer was terrible. the staff rude and the all round experience distinctly unpleasant.
I certainly won't hurry back!

The St Johns Tavern, Archway

I used to drink in here in the 80's when it was a dive with a bad Elvis impersonator, but at least it was friendly?
Current opinion: food good, prices so-so, beer not the worst, staff rude, ignorant, ill mannered, surly, and downright unpleasant.
Ryanair are a joy to deal with in comparision?

Landlord take note!

The Archway Tavern, Archway

This place was a hole 20 years ago and has not changed in that time. This is the type of place that gives the Irish a bad name. Is it any wonder we are perceived to be a nation of ignorant savages?

The Antelope, Tooting

Wow, what a change. Jack Beards'...... good riddance, and I'm Irish. Food a tad overpriced, then again this is London, even if it is Tooting? Live long and prosper!

The Clare Inn, Acton

Part of the reason I left Ireland was to get away from dismal dreary holes like this. Enough said!

The North Star, Ealing

Been going in for 25 years. Staff have always been below par. Good pub though. Location definitely helps!

Red Lion, Ealing

I used to come here a lot a few years ago and recently decided to come back. The building is full of character. The beer is top class & reasonably priced, but the staff are lacking in something which I can't quite put my finger on. As JonRambo says they are pleasant enough, but not overly welcoming. I would be quite happy to be a regular, but I just can't warm to the place.(staff)?

The Queens Arms, Colnbrook

I haven't been for many years and I worked here when it was the Crown. I'm happy to see the place has improved so much. In my time the owner was a nutter who hated people, (great quality in pub landlord). Good luck to the present staff and patrons.

Charles Holden, Colliers Wood

Was this pub previously called the Victory?

The Jolly Gardeners, Earlsfield

I worked in this pub on and off during the 80's. It was a terrific pub then. Landlords name was Jamie Ramselle. Locals were a great bunch. Glad to see it hasn't changed.

The Hooden on the Green, Mitcham

I used to drink in here in the 80's. It was called the White Hart then. Mein hosts were John & Shaunagh. It was probably the best pub in Mitcham at the time. Even the yobbos were well behaved.
