The Fernhurst and Star Lodge, Blackburn

No pump clip on the real ale hand pump, had to ask twice what is was, turned out it was Lancaster Bomber, at least it was drinkable. Later it ran out so I ran out and won't be back.

The Feathers, Laleham

Drove past the other day and now re-opened. Will pay a visit soon and report.

Lamp Tavern, Bloxwich

When I visited there was ear splitting karaoke, so had a half and left. Beer OK though.

The Turf Tavern, Bloxwich

Now back in the GBG. The wide range of real ales well kept, the decor original, the locals friendly and the conversation lively . A truly wonderful pub.

The Harrow, Steep

A step back in time. Great beer served from hatches. The mandatory local sat in the corner grumbling to no one in particular. No music, microwave or electronic till, it does have electicity though. The mens loos....partly unroofed, oh the delights of having the sun on your back and watching the world go by..........Make an effort to find this pub and enjoy.

Crown Hotel Suddaby's, Malton

A good range of beers available. Very busy when I visited with band performing in the barn at the rear.

Nags Head, Sunningdale Village

A liitle gem hidden away and a rare Harveys outlet in Surrey/Berkshire. Beer well kept with a freindly atmosphere. Liked the pub sign - a horse downing a pint!

The Greyhound, Ipswich

A nice friendly local with good ale and pub grub. A little way from the town centre it is worth the trouble of seeking it out.

Mannings, Ipswich

This is traditional sort of pub handy for the market. The choice of real ales was limited but at least the beer arrived in good condition. I did, however, find the background music very irritating and will not be visiting again unless they turn it down or off.

The Goose, Aldershot

Two real ales on tap, Youngs and Tetleys, both acceptable and cheap. Basic inexpensive pub grub. Seems like a typical high street boozer aimed at a young market.

The Castle Inn, Ottershaw

Good ale, good food, good atmosphere, empty wallet.

The Station House, Addlestone

Still up for sale, now looking very tatty, redevelopment beckons.

The Greyhound Inn, Longford

Well worth the hassle of finding it on a dark wet winter evening. A pub with a warm fire, hearty food, good ale and friendly staff. It became very busy later on and this should be borne in mind if ordering food.

The Royal Marine, Lyne

This cosy little gem serves great real ale and is well worth hunting out. Visit this pub and it will improve your day.

The White Hart Hotel, Whitchurch

When I visited - a saturday night - good atmosphere, friendly staff and most important real ale served in good condition. If you are in Whitchurch its worth a visit.
