Merchant, Battersea

Local ales - Weasel, Bonobo, and Adnams are all on tap, as well as Meantime pale ale etc. A large selection of bottled beer including Sam smiths and Floris fruit beers plus an array of blonde beers.

Aspall cider on tap - could do with a better (real) cider selection.

Good home made food, small portions, pricey but worth it. Chips are excellent.

The interior is a little too vintage-trendy for my liking, but whatever.

The Fox on the Hill, Denmark Hill

Decent selection of beers (as always at Wetherspoon's), ale festivals are fantastic.

The best thing about this one is the large beer garden out the front and back, and the very cheap drinks (compared the nearby pubs which are ridiculously expensive).

The inside is a bit depressing, but if you're sitting out side you don't need to worry about that.

The George Canning, Denmark Hill

Used to be a favorite of mine, a fantastic Sunday roast, and other food is pretty decent too. It could be a bit hit and miss though, if the chef was away and what not.

Food service was never that great though, they had no way of marking where you were sitting and you could forget ordering multiple courses - there always seemed to be confusion over when they would bring your desert (did you have to ask for it? did they just bring it when you had finished?).

Unfortunately the management changed and the prices rocketed, expect to pay 3.50 for a Strongbow. There is a good selection of wine, although that's where the selection ends. No good ales or cider.

The Fine Line, Clapham Junction

Very expensive drinks for no particular reason, food is equally bad value.

There is a decent selection of European beers though, Duvel, Vedett, Frulli, Kwak, etc..

The Eagle Ale House, Clapham

Really is a 'proper' pub. Friendly staff, proper ales and cider, nice quiet 'secret' beer garden.

Especially good around the nasty Northcote road pubs (Bank, All bar one, Pitcher & Piano).
