Old Cock Inn, Middleton

Unfortunately it's just full of old cocks :-(

Orlando's, Chorlton cum Hardy

Well i like this place because they have Budweiser Budvar on tap...and my friends live upstairs aswell. The staff are also friendly and the place can create a good atmosphere so its worth giving a try if you haven't yet been there.

The Nook, Chorlton cum Hardy

I have been to The Nook a few times now. The main two problems that concern me are 1. that the drinks can be expensive, and 2. everytime i have been there it has been crammed with people, so hardly any space to breathe inside as it is a small bar. Besides that it is a nice friendly place with a good atmospere. There is also a basement area downstairs where they have music and live DJ's. Also there is a few benches outside to make up for lack of space. Overall it is a nice place to go with friends..unless it is completely busy.

The Iguana Bar, Chorlton cum Hardy

Well i have only been in The Iguana a few times..the first time was a few years back and i was not at all impressed. However i went in there again last week and it has much improved since my first visit. I really had a good time in there this time round although the prices are rather expensive. I will probably be in there again sometime soon. I would certainly recommend (as long as you have the money).

Font, Manchester

This place is great for cocktails as there is a large selection, so i'm sure there is something for everyone's taste. Also i noticed group of people that were playing on Pro Evo on the large screen so everyone was happy and overall the place had a good atmosphere.

Robinskis, Fallowfield

Well i am new to the Fallowfield scene and this is the first bar i have been too. I actually think this is an alright place. They have the usual stuff (tv, pool tables, music, etc.) Plus a few tables & benches outside so very good for a lazy Saturday afternoon. Some of the beer tastes weak though, but they have red stripe on tap which is pretty good! And i think they have like a club or something upstairs but i've not seen it yet.

The Bishop Blaize, Old Trafford

The Quadrant, Stretford

ive only been in here at lunchtime, but it seems quite nice. it is affordable, and has a pool table, which is always an advantage.

Uluru, Chorlton cum Hardy

This place has now become my new local. i first went in a few months ago and the atmospere is great. you can get nice cold jugs of fosters and ice cold pint pots! the bar staff are g8 and you can download tunes on the jukebox. Drinks are a bit overpriced, put still well worth it. Also has 2 nice leather sofa's and tv screen. definately worth a visit!

The Bar, Chorlton cum Hardy

I went into this place the other nite for the first time, and i wasnt really impressed. To begin with, my m8 had to wear my coat all nite because the barstaff took offence to his england shirt (middle of the world cup!!)and told him to cover it up. they tried to make him look like a football hooligan. It cost 2.45 a pint!!!!! disgraceful. The only good thing was the comfy leather armchair that i was sat on.

Sedge Lynn, Chorlton Cum Hardy

Probably the best place in Chorlton for a cheap pint. The good is good too. Looks a cross between a church and a train station. Full of old men and dodgy looking scallies. Inside and outside. Won't stop me though if i want a nice cheap pint!

The Trevor Arms, Chorlton cum Hardy

Nice place compared to the crap over the road (BEECH!!) Gets packed during footy matches, good bar staff. Good beer. Strange place to have the Gents though. Its a great place for a rainy day.

Lounge, Chorlton cum Hardy

The place was far better in its original form. Still a great place though. Comfy sofa's. Makes you wanna stay longer. Good atmosphere. Food is nothing to be proud, but you can get a descent pint (if you have the chedder)

Abode, Chorlton

Its alright. Used to ave a sexy barmaid mmm!! The beer is nice too though.

The Iguana Bar, Chorlton cum Hardy

Only been twice. It looks impressive, and i've heard that the music and comedy nights are really good. I should go again soon.

The Beech Inn, Chorlton cum Hardy

I can honestly say that this has got to be in the top three WORST pubs in and aroud Chorlton. The place is way too cramped. It's boring in every sense. It smells like a chippy, and the pints are dreadful in both taste and price!! The place is very poor and i wouldn't recommend. The outside beergarden is better than inside, (apart from wasps in ya beer on a hot summers day).

Bar 4 Eighty, Chorlton cum Hardy

Not bad, comfy sofa's. Nice drinks. Good atmosphere. But i prefer next door.

The Spread Eagle, Chorlton cum Hardy

Quite the old mans pub this one. Generally quiet, not very interesting. Used to go when it was slightly interesting but these days i'd rather just go eleswhere. Cheap beer is the only advantage to this otherwise dull forgetful boozer.

The Royal Oak Hotel, Chorlton cum Hardy

When i first became a rgular in the Oak, it was quite a nice place to go to. The bar staff were great to ave a laugh with, and the beer tasted good and at an affordable price. Since management changed, the place has seen far too many scallies, and it always kicks off. The pool tables are pretty neat though. I now only go there on the odd occasion, as generally its not a bad place (sometimes).

Revise, Chorlton cum Hardy

Looks quite nice from the outside, never actually been inside yet. Something i must do verrrry soon!

2 Nov 2005 09:41

The Marble Beer House, Chorlton cum Hardy

This boozer is more like a half-desserted retirement home, rather than a pub or bar. Looks cheap and shoddy in apperarance.

The Horse and Jockey, Chorlton cum Hardy

Probably the best pub in Chorlton at the moment. It is a descent, friendly local. Normally quiet during the daytime, but can get very busy in the evenings, especially on weekends. It has football, pool table, fruit machines etc. Good bar staff. Reasonable priced drinks. Quiz night is a laugh, mix of music. The only problem with this pub is that it can get way to hot inside, but i suppose you could always go and sit on the benches outside, or sit on the green opposite, (a good favourite spot during the summer!! Overall, quite impressive.

The Lloyds Hotel, Chorlton cum Hardy

Buy two pints of lager and you won't get change from a fiver. You'll have to pay more if anything. The service is quite good though. Don't think much of the food. Friendly barstaff.
