The Masque Haunt, Old Street

I work around the corner from here, I pass it every day.

Old men all-day drinking frequent here every single day. One of them has had the same jumper on everytime I've seen him for a year!

If you want a cheap pint then pop in but prepare to be depressed in the atmos.

The Temple, Manchester

Far too small (used to be a toilet - literally), the music is too loud to have a chat.

The worst thing about this place is the drinking up time. They will sell you a drink one minute before they close and when they close they hassle you to drink up almost immediately. I hate that! I will never go back.

The Frog and Parrot, Sheffield

This pub has always been popular since I've known about it but I've never been able to work out why.

I think it's because the jukebox is mainly indie so it appeals to indie kids and musos but I don't think a good jukebox alone makes a good pub.

My main problem with it is that it's very open on a main road, so you get a lot of drunken idiots finding it and filling it and it isn't that big.

It's not a bad pub really, it's good for people watching because the street outside has a steady flow of people and the whole front is window. Nothing special in my opinion, I wouldn't choose to go there, there are better bars in the area.

Penny Black, Sheffield

I think there's a dresscode for this place - ShellSuits!

Only the most grotesque dregs of society frequent here. It stinks to high heaven of stale booze and urine.

Typical of a pub near a bus and train station, attracts weirdos, chavs and drug addicts. One of the most depressing places I have ever been in!

Such a shame because it was originally built for the Royal Mail workers in the building next door (I'm one of them), but we don't go in, it's ruined.

The Lescar Hotel / Hunters Bar, Sheffield

First time I went in Lescar was about 10 years ago - it was a dive, never felt 100% safe there and I stopped going.

Last year I went there again. It has changed so much and I do mean for the better. They have a very good selection of drinks and the food is great, it's a little bit pricey but it's worth it.

Nice crowd of people, Hunters Bar is a nice area and the regulars are a mix of students and young proffesionals, always a good atmosphere. Good size beer garden.

Only complaint is some of the bar staff (not all) can be a bit moody and when it's busy (and it does get busy), it can take a long time to get served.

Belushi's, Camden

Truly awful. Went there on a friday night, there was a band on, I don't think they could've been louder. Me and my friends had to find a corner to try and chat but we still couldn't hear each other.

For some reason it was very busy and nobody was cleaning tables or mopping up spilt drinks that the rowdy punters had dropped. The pint I had had no head whatsoever and I couln't even finish it because it was so flat.

When we left we ended up laughing because we'd spent time in there and it was so bad.

Probably the worst pub in Camden and I include the World's End in that and that is saying something!
