The Bull, Horton Kirby

Can't argue with any of the recent comments. It was the final stop on a bus tour of Kent from North Surrey CAMRA which started at the Ramsgate Brewery in the morning. Our party of 27 arrived here about 5.15pm last Saturday evening to be met by another coach trip from Kingston CAMRA ... small world!!

Beer quality and atmosphere was superb. You run a great pub Garrett and Lynne!

The Elephant, Faversham

A great place to stop if you're visiting the Isle of Thanet. The beer choice and quality last saturday afternoon was spot on, a friendly cat and the atmosphere was great - what more do you need? Favourite beer? Probably the Adnams Spiced although the Red Squirrel London Porter and Dark Star Espresso didn't disappoint either!

The Butchers Arms, Herne

Brought a group of 27 here last Saturday lunchtime and they loved the place. I did make special arrangements with Martyn in advance as he usually closes at 1.30 - he stayed open until we left about 3.30 and a great time was enjoyed by all. Thanks for the hot snacks which were very much appreciated and were a nice gesture. Hope to see you again in the not too distant future...

The Fox and Hounds, East Knoyle

Our coach stopped here mid afternoon on a beautiful afternoon in early July following a successful tour of the Sixpenny Brewery in Sixpenny Handley, Dorset (thanks Scott!). Wonderful views southwards towards the Blackmore Vale.

Guest ales included the DBC Durdle Dor and Palmers Copper Ale.

I'm afraid I disagree with wickedcider's comment (04Jun2007) about Strongbow being a 'known cider' ..... fizzy apple juice perhaps but certainly NOT a cider in the real sense of the word. Plenty of the real stuff available in this part of the world ...

The Crown, Salisbury

Visited the Crown following a recommendation from Scott of the nearby Sixpenny Brewery in Sixpenny Handley where our coach party had been treated to a great tour. Rambling old pub with a warm welcome from landlord David. The 6d Mild was excellent - as were the home-made pickled onions. Nice big inglenook to sit in - or some nice drinking areas outside. Also said hello to 'Puzzle' the basset.

The Horseshoe inn, Ebbesbourne Wake

Visited the Horseshoe following a recommendation from Scott of the nearby Sixpenny Brewery in Sixpenny Handley where our coach party had been treated to a great tour. Great old pub and a warm welcome. The 6d beers were on top form. Of course the warm sunny weather didn't hurt either. Lovely garden with plenty of little nooks and crannies. Oh and an almost outside toilet!
