The Bulls Head, Sale

What a change from the old bull... Good beer, good food and no idiots. The management have done wonders with the old place, keep up the good work.

The Slug and Lettuce, Muswell Hill

Simply appalling....

23 Jun 2008 13:42

The Bald Faced Stag, East Finchley

Nice range of beers and friendly staff, I found the food to be excellent. Well worth a visit.

23 Jun 2008 13:40

The Old White Lion, East Finchley

Really good real ales on here and a very nice beer garden.

23 Jun 2008 13:39

The Victoria, Highgate

Really excelent pub, a great atmosphere good staff and most importantly the beer was good. I would certainly come here again.

23 Jun 2008 13:38

The Gatehouse, Highgate

Good pub, although the service could have been a little better. Only a small gripe but the staff were serving out of trurn... Overall though a good pub and worth the visit.

23 Jun 2008 13:36

The Angel, Highgate

Good pub, decent selection of continental lagers.

23 Jun 2008 13:34

test 16, Manchester

Great pub, just recently moved back to Mcr after a few years in Sheffield and was welcomed by this gem.

9 Jul 2007 11:03

Muse, Sheffield

A great bar, very good atmosphere and great mojitos.

7 Feb 2007 17:39

The Fat Cat, Sheffield

Still the best pub, by a country mile. A true Sheffield gem.

7 Feb 2007 17:32

The Wig and Pen by Milestone, Sheffield

Was in here yesterday, good pub. Had a decent pint of Spire. Nice ambience felt homey. Was full of solicitors and policemen, possibly due to the location only being a couple of minutes away from the courts :o)......

7 Feb 2007 17:30

The Museum, Sheffield

Was in here yesterday, had the usual suspects on. Decent beer prices aren't bad for the city centre.

7 Feb 2007 17:28

Tatton Arms, Altrincham

Sorry the beer wasn't alight..... It was alright :o)

8 Jan 2007 00:55

Tatton Arms, Altrincham

The pub is now open, some major changes since it was the old Tatton. Looks good though and the beer was alight.

8 Jan 2007 00:52

The Quarry Bank Inn, Timperley

First time back in for ages after an enforced absence on the other side of the pennines. Just gets better and better. Did take a while to get served though, but excellent beer when it arrived.

19 Dec 2006 03:16

Barracuda Bar, Altrincham

Think I would rather do a tour in Baghdad than a Friday night in this dive.

19 Dec 2006 02:47

The Crown Inn, Battersea

Good quality pub, decent standard boozer.

18 Dec 2006 23:18

Dixie's, Battersea

Great venue, good cheap food and great drinks offers.

18 Dec 2006 23:16

Roebuck Tavern, Sheffield

Not the best pub in my humble opinion. There seems to be a definate lack of interest by the management. Believe there is a refurb in the pipeline to try to compete with the newer establishments that are going to be created due to the areas regeneration.
Should be raising it's game to compete but looks like they may have got complacent since the grey went.

18 Dec 2006 22:39

The Sheaf View, Heeley

Unbelievable pub, great beer and good bar staff.

2 Aug 2006 21:54

The Common Room, Sheffield

Great bar situated upstairs, just appears to be a doorway on the road until you arrive in a large bar with booths. Through into the other room are about 8 american style pool tables billed by the hour. Great night out.

19 Jul 2006 14:51

The Brown Bear, Sheffield

quality old world boozer that hasn't seen a duster for years. Appears to be held together by old posters and cigarette tar...... :o)

19 Jul 2006 14:47

The Toll Gate Inn, Manchester

dodgy boozer but busy on match day

19 Jul 2006 14:30

Dog and Partridge, Sheffield

Great beer great pub, what a gem. Bit shocked to find it in Sheffield though, reminds me of the majority of irish family run boozers you get in Manchester and Liverpool.

14 Jul 2006 14:53

The Old Crown, Sheffield

Good boozer, friendly bar staff and locals. The beer is alright but not a ten out of ten. Pool table and dartboard. Not a bad place at all.

14 Jul 2006 14:50

The Cremorne, Sheffield

This is a great pub, good real ales combined with an area outside where they have had a big screen for the recent world cup, more of a yard than a garden though. Pool table and dart board, what more could you need in a pub. Plus some really great barstaff.

14 Jul 2006 14:47

The Old Queens Head, Sheffield

Great pub very close to the bus station, serves excellent food. Also highly recommend the Thwaites Lancaster Bomber and they have got in for xmas Good Elf which is going down really well. Keep it up...

14 Dec 2005 15:45

The Riverside Cafe Bar, Sheffield

Nice pleasant pub, extremeley quiet which was refreshing. Bit of development going on around there so should pick up trade. Nice location by the river and the beer was good.

13 Dec 2005 18:15

The Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield

Great pub great beer.... nuff said.

13 Dec 2005 18:13

The Fat Cat, Sheffield

The best pub I have ever been to and there are a few of them. Highly recommend it to anyone. Only downside when I was in there were a bunch of hooray henrys in on an xmas doo drinking port and smashing glasses all over the place.....

13 Dec 2005 18:12

The Salutation, Doncaster

It's the only place in Donny to go for a DECENT pint of real ale....

6 Dec 2005 14:19

The Plough, Doncaster

Not too bad bit lively as Donny Rovers had just turned over Aston Villa 3-0. Come on the lads :o)

6 Dec 2005 13:48

The Leopard, Doncaster

A pretty good standard pub with some ok beer.

6 Dec 2005 13:45

The Old Market Tavern, Altrincham

It was great to get back in here for a pint or two, forgot how good the beer was. Well recommended for anyone who enjoys a decent beer without having to dodge the local scallies drinking their chemical laden dishwater. Lovely proper pub.

P.S. Previous comment was right though, those toilets do reck something chronic :o)

3 Dec 2005 14:34

Belgian Bar, Altrincham

I came back to Alty from the otherside of the Pennines for a visit and couldn't believe how I hd forgotten this gem. I quickly found myself considering quitting my job and moving back on a permenant basis. I'm torn :o)

3 Dec 2005 14:23

The Stonemasons Arms, Timperley

After a quick visit granted on a busy Saturday I was suprised to find it had changed quite a bit in the couple of months since I was last in. I would advise you all to make up your own mind on it. But I wasn't greatly impressed by the changes, possiblly it just needs some time too bed down. I think the closure of the Broomwood may also be affecting it's aptmosphere. Not to my taste anymore but I'm sure some people will like the changes.

3 Dec 2005 14:16

The Stonemasons Arms, Timperley

Not been in here for a couple of months since Shaun left, but I'm hearing mixed reviews of the new management. I also believe they have put in a dart board, only problem is that it's right in the middle of the raised food area. Make sure your wear a flack jacket if your eating up there or it may be a quick trip to A&E.

15 Nov 2005 14:04

The White Rose, Sheffield

First time in here, it has new landlord who seemed really friendly. Locals are ok too, unusual for the darnal area :o)Beers are a decent price and seem to be kept well. Worth a visit.

15 Nov 2005 14:02

The Turf Tavern, Handsworth

You take your life into your hands when entering this place, that is if the ten or so kids smoking dope on the door step dont put you off first.

15 Nov 2005 13:54

The Norfolk Arms, Handsworth

I'm in agreement with GP it appears to be an extremely dodgy pub. Although it does appear to be doing the area a service, it was absolutely rammed to the rafters with kids, meaning that they weren't anywhere else making it safe for a pint in the local area :o)

15 Nov 2005 13:53

The Wendover, Brooklands

Excellent pub, John the landlord is a legend. Good beer and excellent entertainment. A must for anyone within staggering distance. P.s the Manchester border starts at the brook running under the Shaftesbury flyover near the rounabout.

2 Aug 2005 14:22

The Hare and Hounds Hotel, Timperley

A real dive, used to be a decent boozer around ten years ago. You can really see the difference now. I went in there in the day there were three bar staff on and they stood there for around five minutes chatting while I waited to be served. When I was served they made it quite obvious they resented me interupting the little chat. Totally at odds with how it used to be. Far better pubs in the area, stick to the Stonies, Quarry or the Moss.

2 Aug 2005 14:15

The Parkway Tavern, Sheffield

Got to be honest I haven't been in here ,but I have walked past it through park hill flats enough to know I would rather put my family jewels in a meat grinder than risk my life in there. The type of people I have witnessed smoking all sorts of stuff outside scares the bejeezus out of me.....

28 Jul 2005 16:27

Fagan's, Sheffield

Great pub only been in once and was made to feel really welcome. The beer was good and I would recommend a visit to anyone.

28 Jul 2005 15:18

The Devonshire Cat, Sheffield

When I walked through the doors and saw the selection of beers availble I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Paradise on earth :o)

28 Jul 2005 15:07

The Yorkshire Grey, Sheffield

Soon to be demolished grab a beer in there while you can.

28 Jul 2005 15:04

Red Lion, Sheffield

Great little pub, excellent beer and good food.

28 Jul 2005 15:01

The Rutland Arms, Sheffield

Excellent pint of Taylor's really good pub for a quiet pint.

28 Jul 2005 15:00

The Pump Tavern, Sheffield

I was well impressed with the pub, gfreat for the big racing events with Stanley's just over the road. Beer is ok but the previous comment was right, it isn't a great pint. He must have missed me in there as well, shock horror i'm a student :o)

28 Jul 2005 14:59

The Royal Standard, Sheffield

Not a bad pub at all, beers a bit pricey but good overall.

28 Jul 2005 14:56

The Hope, Salford

Not been in this pub for quite a while and theres a reason for it. The beer was awful and if that wasn't bad enough there was a tenty four man fight on the dance floor. Yes I did actually count them, I was too sober through not drinking the swill they were serving. I hope it's got better with time but judging from Zargreb's comments it doesnt look that way.

28 Jul 2005 14:38

The Blue Bell, Monton

Good pub, I'll back up the previous comment about the prices being reasonable. They aren't cheap but there ok.

28 Jul 2005 14:34

White Horse, Swinton

Good friendly pub, well worth trying it out. Good beer and excellent staff.

28 Jul 2005 14:33

Farmers Arms, Swinton

A really good boozer, I highly recommend the food in here, especially the Sunday lunch.

28 Jul 2005 14:32

Red Lion, Swinton

Not a bad pub at all, know as the cat if your local. Open late and has some good qaulity beer on. Got to watch out for some of the Hulton massive who get down there now and again :o)

28 Jul 2005 14:25

The Weavers Arms, Swinton

Not a bad pub, the regulars are friendly enough anf the beers good.

28 Jul 2005 14:21

Yates's, Swinton

The beers alright not great but ok. They have tried to sort the place out since the doormen killed that guy outside the place, but it still isn't what I would call a safe place for a beer.

28 Jul 2005 14:20

The Wendover, Brooklands

Good pub just been in there for the first time in years, can't believe the change in the place. Good beer and a nice crowd of people.

31 Oct 2003 11:07

The Stonemasons Arms, Timperley

The prices just get better, 1.50 for a bottle of Becks. I have died and gone to heaven. Oh and theres a sign saying no baseball caps so I don't know what the fuss is about.

13 Oct 2003 21:30

The Hare and Hounds Hotel, Timperley

Just been in for the first time after the refurb. Can't believe the prices have gone up so much, may have to remortgage to buy a pint.

11 Oct 2003 12:13

The Sir Ralph Abercrombie, Manchester

One of the best pubs in town. Excellent beer and great staff. Good to watch Utd games.

12 Aug 2003 15:33

The Quarry Bank Inn, Timperley

Nice pub big selection of food, can get a little too busy though takes a while getting served if your not a local.
Does have an old fashioned vault which is a rareity these days.
Beers not too bad either.

12 Aug 2003 15:18

Belgian Bar, Altrincham

It's a drinkers heaven, soooooo many beers, perfect just watch the steps after a few....

12 Aug 2003 15:14

The Hare and Hounds Hotel, Timperley

Not too bad a place, decent food, decent beer. Got too agree with the comments below, there are far too many scrotes going in these days. You can tell them by their baseball caps.....

12 Aug 2003 15:10

The Stonemasons Arms, Timperley

A great pub, being frequented by a few baseball cap types these days. A great bunch of regulars, good beer at a nice price and excellent bar staff. Check out the doubles bar :o)
