The Bull, Rugby

Pretty busy and rough looking.

1 Feb 2018 17:08

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

A fairly typical Wetherspoons, located in a busy part of town.

1 Feb 2018 17:05

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Some catching up to do! I went here on Sunday and had the cheese and tomato panini, on Monday I had the veggie Texan Burger and today I opted for the Lasagne! I had a pint of real ale on each occasion! You can even sit by the windows and watch the traffic and people walking past.

5 Sep 2017 17:25

The Wooden Bridge, Guildford

Was going to have a drink here but the toilets are disgusting.

2 Sep 2017 16:40

The Drummond, Guildford

I made the mistake of coming here again, full of tossers, especially in the beer garden why cant people have their beer in peace? At £4.40 I wasted time and money and liver space here. Shocking!

2 Sep 2017 15:44

The Herbert Wells, Woking

This is BestBeerBoffin and today I went to Herbert Wells in Woking and had an American IPA with a veggie texas burger. Its a nice big pub and you can even watch TV or watch people outside. It is quite nice here.

2 Sep 2017 15:43

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Today I went to Wetherspoons in Guildford and had fish and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce. I Even had a pint of Abbot Ale to spice things up. You can sit at one of the many tables in this big pub.

1 Sep 2017 17:12

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Today I went to Wetherspoons in Guildford and had a vegetable curry. I also had a pint of American IPA and sat at a table and you can even watch people walking past outside.

31 Aug 2017 17:10

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Today I went to Wetherspoons in Guildford and sat at a table and you can even watch people walking past and it was raining. I had a Veggie Texas Burger and a Pint of Real Ale. It was too busy today though.

30 Aug 2017 17:50

The Wooden Bridge, Guildford

I was going to play pool but some chavs were having a game! Typical! However the pub was nice and quiet on a late August Saturday. The only downside was the lack of real ale. Why are they selling 4% beers instead of Old Speckled Hen or Abbot ale? As usual Jeff Stelling was ranting and raving on Soccer Saturday.

26 Aug 2017 17:58

The Kings Head, Guildford

Much better today for some reason! Almost totally empty so thats probably why. The Landlord was enjoying the cricket. The beer is pretty good and they showed plenty of sport on tv!

26 Aug 2017 17:56

The Kings Head, Guildford

Starting to smell a little bit but not a terrible pub. Too busy in the sunny weather.

19 Aug 2017 19:10

The Star Inn, Guildford

At least it was empty today but the place felt a little depressing and doesn''t even have a proper beer garden for summer.

19 Aug 2017 19:09

The Drummond, Guildford

Pipe down Rudolph or i''ll wack your red nose mate ;)

19 Aug 2017 19:08

The Drummond, Guildford

Stop moaning mate. They have some nice ales and it is nice and clean.

18 Aug 2017 19:50

The White House, Guildford

Went here last week. Good beer and nice seating space. Otherwise quite drab and food looks pricey.

18 Aug 2017 19:49

The Keystone, Guildford

Now called the Cannon. Tough guy at the bar with piercings and all sorts, otherwise pretty empty.

18 Aug 2017 19:48

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Well, I must say it takes longer and longer to clean tables than ever. Not impressive! The new get yourself cutlery idea isn''t all bad but are the staff just becoming more lazy? Average spoons

18 Aug 2017 19:48

The Guildford Tup, Guildford

Empty and boring, but I don't mind empty if the staff are nice and beer is good. Much better than the Stoke for sure!

1 Aug 2017 16:56

The Stoke, Guildford

Worse than the Drummond, despite having a beer here. The beer took what seemed like an age to be served. The range of ales is disappointing. Nothing above 4%? Can't even make it a full pint either. Miserable and drab.

1 Aug 2017 16:55

The Drummond, Guildford

I was more than happy to have a drink here, but there was only one member of staff. Very slow going, sorry but you lose customers.

1 Aug 2017 16:54

The Kings Head, Guildford

The best pub of Terrible Tuesday. The staff are nice and the food is good. The ales were half decent.

1 Aug 2017 16:53

The Drummond, Guildford

While I have enjoyed going to the Drummond in the past I have now become somewhat bored of this place. The staff are friendly enough, but the place is very expensive. I would not choose a main meal here and spend about £15. The beers are well over £4 a pint. The beer garden is quite nice, but can get crowded. Inside is very plain and boring, I don't think there was any TV's here, didn't even notice music playing! Maybe go here if you want a quiet pub in the daytime, otherwise I wouldn't bother unless you have money to burn. You won't be allowed to come in here without people staring at you EITHER. Beware.

7 Jul 2017 18:33

The Kings Head, Guildford

Walked on through. Cheesy music with too many people at the bar. What ashame.

3 Jun 2017 18:15

The Three Pigeons, Guildford

Would have stopped here but there isn't a beer garden on a sunny day. More of a Winter Pub.

3 Jun 2017 18:15

The Drummond, Guildford

Too busy, I did not stop here on Mad Saturday.

3 Jun 2017 18:14

The Stoke, Guildford

Bad today. Even the cash machine does not work! A bit like the food service! Staff are the most miserable i've come across. Only a week until the Kings Head across the road opens at least.

3 Jun 2017 18:14

The Guildford Tup, Guildford

Had a half pint here. Nice beer garden in sunny weather.

3 Jun 2017 18:12

Pews, Guildford

Last pub of a the local crawl for a pint of Guinness. Atmosphere was bland, at least it was cool and empty!

3 Jun 2017 18:11

The Star Inn, Guildford

Next pub visited was the Star Inn. Depressing inside. I mean they don't have much of a garden for hot weather so it is more of a Winter pub.

3 Jun 2017 18:11

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

First pub on a mad hot Saturday in June. Staff seemed find and friendly, nothing wrong with the food. (About 1pm) Later visited at 5pm and no seats and seemed a nightmare, definitely don't go later in the day if you want food. Maybe the wait is ok if you just want drinks.

3 Jun 2017 18:10

The Wooden Bridge, Guildford

Well, I went here today and couldn't even get in a game of Pool. Some chavs were hogging the tables. So I guess there was beer, yes one real ale so lets go with the Old speckled Hen! And then I could watch Jeff Stelling reading out the football scores and then I left. Thats what life is like when you drink in a pub on your own!

13 May 2017 19:42

The Stoke, Guildford

Given the recent reviews and issues of the Stoke Pub I decided it was time to try again. For a change there was no unfriendly service at the bar, just a nice lady working there - foreign no doubt but a nice lady. I was assuming i'd be waiting half an hour for a pizza and thus end up walking out rather than complaining as i'm a nice guy. It arrived within 15 minutes and was a very good pizza. I'll give it the thumbs up for now, but would like a bit more real Ale selection in the future.

11 May 2017 17:42

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

The staff seem more useless than usual. Seem to be employing a lot of novices, i'm easy going and patient, but they keep charging more than they should when it is very basic. Staff must improve as must the cleaning of the tables. The meals on the other hand are good and consistent.

11 May 2017 17:39

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Recently given the 5 star food hygiene rating, shame about the filthy tables. Attracts the numpties of society, ashame as it has a good selection of real ale.

1 May 2017 16:57

The Kings Head, Guildford

The much better Kings Head of the two, better music, cleaner tables and even better no kids screaming away!

1 May 2017 16:54

The Kings Head, Guildford

Bank Holiday Monday visit. Really needs improving, surely its time 2 kick the kids out of the pub. I dont think anyone can enjoy their pint with kids screaming away, yes this was the main atmosphere and cheesey music. Scrappy tables and looking tatty.

1 May 2017 16:53

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Today (21st April 2017) I popped into The Rodoboro Guildings in Buildford and sat at a Table and Had some Fish and Chips for Fish Friday. I even had some Mushy peas and watched people walk by while drinking a nice pint of Greene King Abbot Ale. There was nice women working here too.

21 Apr 2017 19:19

The Kings Head, Guildford

Today I went into the Kings Head (Kings Road) In Guildford and ordered a pint of Fullers ESB. It cost £4.10 and a lady served me who was nice. There are even tables by the window and you can watch people walking by. The place is OK, but not amazing.

21 Apr 2017 19:14

Rogues Wine Bar, Guildford

Opens at 5pm so dont go before 5pm. By a horrible traffic junction. The interior is nice as is the seating. The beer however cost £5.60 a pint. I guess its inflation.

12 Apr 2017 18:15

The Tilly Shilling, Farnborough

Today I had lunch here at this Wetherspoons and sat at table 10 and had Cheese and Tomato Panini with a cup of Coffee. You can even watch TV as they have BBC news on or sit by the window and watch people walking past. In general I liked this Wetherspoons less than most as the tables were too cramped together.

12 Apr 2017 18:11

The Ham and Blackbird, Farnborough

All closed and boarded up on this lovely busy roundabout. Looks a mess, what will they do with it though?

12 Apr 2017 18:10

12 Apr 2017 18:10

The Manor Inn, Godalming

Arrived with no sign of any menu's on the tables! Told there are indeed two menu's the fish and chips for £6.99 was good and a reasonable size, i've no idea why anyone would order the £12.50 fish and chips from the main menu unless they have a huge appetite! Drinks are a bit expensive, but the pub itself is nice enough, also a hotel with the BeefEater Chain. Good music playing in the background and some people even playing chess!

11 Apr 2017 14:22

The Stoke, Guildford

Totally amatuer staff working here. They don't know who to serve next but the bigger problem is none of the staff can pull a pint, taking about 3-4 minutes to pull a drink, I assume there was a problem with the handpumps but no apologies for the long wait! The beer also tasted pretty terrible. Then you've got the general annoying youngish student like punters who seem to come here, much too loud and immature! It could be good, but currently failing.

8 Apr 2017 18:10

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Reasonable ale, lots of choice and £2.50 for an ale is better than anywhere else. Can't complain too much, staff tend to be young and a bit immature and as its a wetherspoons u can guarantee dirty tables but its still good. 9/10

27 Mar 2017 17:00

The Parrot Inn, Forest Green

A nice location but expensive beer. The real ale range is good. The food is slow but pretty decent, but could be improved. 8/10

RSVP, Woking

Much better than wetherspoons this is called Ogilvy's. Sadly this site cannot be bothered to change it.

25 Mar 2017 14:51

The Herbert Wells, Woking

No point coming here on a Saturday. Arrived at 1pm and totally full, could not find a single table. Don't bother on Saturdays!

25 Mar 2017 14:47

The Wibbas Down Inn, Wimbledon

Very big wetherspoons which i've been to before. Only this time I came in a different enterance. It looked so different I thought i'd entered a different wetherspoons! But yes u can enter from either side, its a large pub, but the seating makes the pub a little more awkward than it could be. Too many of those high tables.

23 Mar 2017 15:04

The Royal George, Euston

Lovely Veggie fish and chips here. Good pub, nice ales but at times terrible staff and a real lack of sitting space. Too busy most evenings.

22 Mar 2017 17:11

The Somerstown Coffee House, Euston

Nice big pub, excellent for the summer as well as they have a decent spot out the back. No good when its too crowded though and didn't like the food much last time.

22 Mar 2017 17:10

The Doric Arch, Euston

Nice little pub hidden away from the main busy area near the Bus Station. Good ales and a nice little sitting spot upstairs. Full of names of train stations all over the walls, very good pub.

22 Mar 2017 17:09

The Drummond, Guildford

Another visit this Saturday. Excellent staff and friendly service, great food which arrived very fast! Just a few annoying customers, jumping the queue and ordering loads, get some manners! Atmosphere is a bit plain, but is it better to have a TV with Rugby which would mean an extra 30+ customers or have no TV. Its more relaxing than most other local pubs.

18 Mar 2017 17:59

The Green Man (Harvester), Burpham

Now an Aldi supermarket.

12 Mar 2017 10:12

Slug and Lettuce, Guildford

Now called Turtle Bay.

12 Mar 2017 10:09

The Stoke, Guildford

Doubt it can get any worse now. Only 1 beer was on yesterday, the rest were off! Offered cider because the ales were mostly off. And they will take your order but not serve food.

12 Mar 2017 10:08

The Guildford Tup, Guildford

Totally empty on a weekday afternoon indeed I was the only customer. Incredibly bland pub with bland real ale choices. Better than the Stoke though.

12 Mar 2017 10:06

The Hogshead, Guildford

Now a Strutt and parker

12 Mar 2017 10:05

The Old Ford, North Camp

North Camp has to be one of the most depressing places in the universe. A miserable station filled with rubbish everywhere, a complete tip. Then there is the place itself, yes a great idea having a pub right next to the station but what you get is something pretty hideous. Its full of drunk punters threatening anyone who isn't a local. I'm sure they're not bad people, it simply isn't welcome for non locals!

10 Mar 2017 15:41

The Stoke, Guildford

I enjoyed the pizza here. I won't comment too much as the staff can be sensitive, but its much better than it used to be. 8 or 9 out of 10.

2 Mar 2017 18:52

The George Abbot, Guildford

I like the pub and the overall feel of the pub. The food however was a little disappointing. Only 4 of the real ales on as well, so it could be better.

2 Mar 2017 18:51

Polish Gospoda, Reading

Yes, I remember coming here many years ago on a piss up. I liked it here, but maybe thats because I was pretty drunk. It was pretty bland from memory.

2 Mar 2017 18:50

The Jug and Jester, Leamington Spa

The other Wetherspoons in town. This place is much more small and cramped with a mixture of different rooms. Quite a cosy spoons though, I think I prefer this spoons to the other one, bettter atmosphere aslong as it does not get too busy. Less choice of drinks though.

26 Feb 2017 12:01

The Benjamin Satchwell, Leamington Spa

The busier of the two Wetherspoons in Leamington. There can be a fairly long wait to get drinks here on a Saturday, but its a spacious pub, very long and big open plan room. In general a fairly typical spoons. I quite like it here.

26 Feb 2017 11:59

The Royal Oak, Guildford

Previous review was harsh! Apologies. Will visit again soon!

19 Feb 2017 23:37

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Today I went and sat at Table Number 81 and someone served me and I ordered some food and a beer and you can even sit by the window and look outside at the people walking past. Seriously though, I did come here and have lunch and drink some real ale here today. As for the pub itself it is a good spoons which gets too busy at times, but still OK.

19 Feb 2017 21:14

The Guildford Tup, Guildford

Not very original or interesting selection of ales. St Austell's Tribute was just about acceptable. Very boring on a Monday!! I suppose it is ok when it is empty. Basically a Rugby Pub!

19 Feb 2017 21:04

The Drummond, Guildford

Has now Re Opened. Very little has changed in the refurbishment. It looks slightly nicer inside. There is still that awful smell though. Acceptable real ale choice including Timothy Taylor. Spend £17 for a Risotto if you're wealthy.

17 Feb 2017 17:57

The Kings Head, Guildford

Excellent pub!!

12 Feb 2017 14:50

Revolution, Milton Keynes

Or change their name to The Bed Bar? Im shocked the wetherspoons has closed in Milton Keynes. Surely there is another one.

4 Feb 2017 16:29

The Drummond, Guildford

Closed. Presumably it is being refurbished.

2 Feb 2017 18:08

The Kings Head, Guildford

Actually a lovely pub apart from the fat bald prick working at the bar. I take it he is the manager as he does tend to have a chip on his shoulder. Perhaps he could be more friendly. I still think it is a nice pub overall. Always about 4 or 5 real ales on.

2 Feb 2017 18:06

The Kings Head, Guildford

Pretty shit today. In fact I walked out. One person behind the bar, lots of customers either hogging the bar or not getting served. Improve customer service at once and this was only at 5pm

25 Jan 2017 17:35

The Britannia, Guildford

Had a pint here yesterday. Service was hardly friendly and the whole place seemed outdated and mundane. At least it has reasonable ale.

22 Dec 2016 17:50

The Kings Head, Guildford

This used to be a nice pub but has gone downhill these days. There are quite a few issues with this pub. First of all, there are a lot of annoying punters, they like to create noise and you may not feel welcome if not a regular. The landlord is a bit of a strange bloke, he could appear more friendly. The pub lacks an atmosphere and feels mundane, while the beer has reasonable quality but is over priced. Also the seating is kind of messy! Only 3/10 given the current state of this place.

22 Dec 2016 17:46

The George Abbot, Guildford

Right so yeah I popped into the George Abbot for a spot of lunch today as I wasn't being served at Wetherspoons! The Fish and Chips was good, much better than Wetherspoons itself! Only i'm not sure it should be served with pickles? It maybe better to be traditional with some peas. The tartar sauce was served in a modern looking glass container, but it didn't contain enough and even though the fish was well made and tasty it could have done with some extra sauce. Minor criticism though on a friendly pub with friendly bar staff and some excellent real ale!

20 Dec 2016 15:52

The Royal Oak, Guildford

Well this used to be a good pub but that has long gone. I gave it a visit on Saturday afternoon and it was a terrible experience. There was only one person serving behind the bar which was annoying in itself, and about 12 guys blocking the bar area and drinking there, isn't that banned yet? I was eventually served in a not especially friend way, the beers were also pretty mundane, the Gales HSB was adequate. The worst part was being sworn at for simply doing nothing by a rude person in the pub. I accept swearing happens but it seems unfriendly to do it out of the blue. No reason to visit again so a 0 rating is given. I'll visit the Robin Hood next time and see how it goes there.

17 Dec 2016 17:27

Pews, Guildford

Is it open or is it closed? No comments for 4 years so it must be anybody's guess!

10 Dec 2016 18:25

Bar Centro, Guildford

This is now called Blue. If anything it looks like a fish Restaurant. I don't fancy visiting and it won't be anything like a pub. Please remove off BITE one day!

10 Dec 2016 18:24

The Three Pigeons, Guildford

It isn't that often I walk into a pub then decided to leave after 2 minutes. Quite clearly the woman working here ignored me as I politely said Good Day and was blanked. There wasn't even many people at the bar on a Saturday afternoon near Christmas. I believe someone else was also wanting a drink and being ignored. Certainly poor service, and it happened months ago when eating a meal here, sorry I cannot forgive this pub for at least 3 months! 0/10 for now!.

10 Dec 2016 18:23

The Brookwood, Woking

No pubs in Brookwood anymore.

9 Jul 2010 19:49

The Corn Stores, Reading

Reasonably sized Fullers pub/Italian restaurant. Worth a visit every now and then. Discovery, ESB and Pride are the ales on tap.

9 Jul 2010 19:47

The Boatman, Guildford

A pint of Fruli and glass of win comes to nearly 8 pounds. Be careful with your wallet young alcoholics.

9 Jul 2010 19:42

The Riverside Inn, Bradford on Avon

Yes, the Riverside Inn. A very lovely location but sadly lots of things let this pub down. The food is really not very good even though it is meant to be home made, the guy at the bar seems a funny type, is he the owner? The seating outside could be arranged better. Mostly ciders on offer, many ciders to choose from if that is your thing but this pub is run down.

8 Jul 2010 19:48

The Albany, Guildford

Pricey pricey pricey - having said that it is ok.

6 Jul 2010 21:25

The Robin Hood, Guildford

Some 1 needs to take it over and do a better job now.

6 Jul 2010 21:24

Molly's Millars, Wokingham

Recent visit - Sharps doom bar still only real ale. Disco sort of pub more than anything. Shows rugby. Very average.

5 Jul 2010 20:00

The Hautboy Inn, Ockham

Closed and turned into church.

5 Jul 2010 19:58

Gordons Bar, Newbury

Appears closed.

5 Jul 2010 19:56

The Three Guineas, Reading

One of Readings better pubs. 8 Real ales on at any one time and massive screen for sports.

5 Jul 2010 10:03

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Staff continuing to make a mess of a few orders here. They are at least friendly at the moment and will be generous about changing your pint/food.

16 May 2010 09:48

16 May 2010 09:48

The Wenlock Arms, Hoxton

i always had an idea this pub may be boring, so lets hope it ups its game now.

15 May 2010 20:39

The Hurtwood Inn, Peaslake

A somewhat mixed review of this pub in general. The ultra modern design takes away some of the appeal that perhaps this pub would have if it was old fashioned. The beers were mostly local breweries and the food was not that well organised. 7/10

15 May 2010 10:41

The Keystone, Guildford

At least 4 real ales on and bottled ale available. Worth a go.

13 Apr 2010 11:41

The Kings Head, Guildford

Never changes. Hobgob, IPA and Courage Best.

Id like to see some new ales as the range isnt that exciting. Its still good place.

6 Apr 2010 17:16

Molly's Millars, Wokingham

Pub most obvious to the station. Popped in for quick one while waiting for train.. landlord seems baffled I only order a half! Half of doombar it is. Good pub but more of a club late in evenings at weekend. Sky sports on tv - surprise surprise.

23 Mar 2010 16:22

The Cricketers, Cobham

Improved from previous visits. Plenty of choice on the new food menu with good sized portions. Gets busy on a sunny afternoon and well worth a visit if not for the food for the beer as theres Greedy King Ipa, London Pride And Surrey Hills.

18 Mar 2010 17:14

The Tudor Lounge, Guildford

Have eaten here on an occasion and also had a late night drinking session here.

Food is mostly omlettes, sandwiches, jacket potato that sort of thing. Nice people when visited but food was small portions and not amazing value for money.

Opens very late some evenings. Not amazing beer range, mostly lager. Although a Doom Bar ale has been spotted.

17 Mar 2010 15:28

The White House, Guildford

Wondered in not knowing what to expect this afternoon. Greeted by rather cheerful Irish music for St Patricks day. Walked over to Real Ale section - HSB, Pride and Seafarers. Decided on the Seafarers.. giving a suspicious look but served. Food menu has changed with some remarkably cheap prices so surely worth a go for the food at some point. 5.75 for a pizza I believe. Pub was bright enough, but beer tasted odd and could not finish pint. 6/10 but can improve i'm sure.

17 Mar 2010 15:24

The Robin Hood, Guildford

I have to agree. My rating of this pub has gone down even more. Visit the oak over the road instead. I

13 Mar 2010 16:35

The Keep, Guildford

Shere Drop and Surrey Hills on decent form. Good for a while before moving on.

13 Mar 2010 16:21

The Parrot Inn, Forest Green

Funny barman there when visited over a year ago. I like the area of this pub

9 Mar 2010 17:47

The Sydney Arms, Chelsea

Chelsea 3-0 Portsmouth

5 Mar 2010 19:39

Ye Olde Ship Inn, Guildford

Enjoyed it here today decent pint of Yorkshire bitter and mostly green king ales otherwise.. but bit crowded otherwise pleasant.

5 Mar 2010 15:01

The Jolly Anglers, Reading

Yes - this was on BBC News.

2 Mar 2010 11:36

The Station, Woking

Mostly a young crowd on a Friday evening who appear to be up for the 'Stay up as long as you can and get pissed as you can idea' even so this pub is not just full of these youngsters. There is a sophisticated crowd I am sure, and indeed the real ale selection offers London Pride so not the worst place to wait for a train... Average enough but 7/10.

26 Feb 2010 22:42

The Bun Penny, Herne Bay

Did you take some spinach with you as well?

24 Feb 2010 16:04

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

"Wireless internet access (provided by The Cloud)"

And does the cloud also provide the real ale? Going by the pint of cloudy honey beer today i think so. Shall avoid for ale in future.

20 Feb 2010 19:27

Murphys, Leamington Spa

Pint of Murphys Irish Stout please

20 Feb 2010 10:35

Black Cock Inn, Blythe Bridge

Black Cock Inn Faubert

19 Feb 2010 12:09

The Counting House, Bank

Spot the difference quiz John?

Ok its in the last line:

"but you need to be prepared to pay for the privilege, as it's not cheap"

"but you need to be prepared to pay for the privilege of drinking here"

17 Feb 2010 10:23

The Bulls Head, Reigate

Not surprised its closed with these idiots popping in there... Shame as they have ruined a great pub... Probably hacked off the management so much they closed this great pub down.

16 Feb 2010 16:16

Corona Bar, Glasgow

Do they sell Corona?

14 Feb 2010 11:45

The Bulls Head, Reigate

Well, well, well if it isnt the fox stirring up trouble. Is fox hunting really banned? Anyway this is a great pub when i visited.

13 Feb 2010 20:59

All Bar One, Guildford

How does that relate to anything about this bar?

13 Feb 2010 14:44

The Kings Head, Earls Court

Visitied before this is a lovely tucked away pub.

13 Feb 2010 14:44

The Courtfield, Earls Court

Yes have another 10 to help the ratings

13 Feb 2010 14:43

The Hootananny, Brixton

Oh 2 comments from the same person, best 2 avoid this pub.

12 Feb 2010 22:59

The Seahorse, Shalford

Another visit to the Seahorse today. An enjoyable occasion especially for the lovely location and the pub itself was reasonably busy inside but empty outside. Only 1 real ale on that being the Tim Taylor Landlord. Good beer and I can only think this pub has to remain at 10/10.

10 Feb 2010 15:32

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Gone downhill. Scrappy service. Ordering real ale was a hassle. Avoid unless alternatives.

6 Feb 2010 16:39

The Kings Head, Guildford

Almost totally dead on a Friday afternoon!! After 5pm...

4 Real Ales on: Wychwood, Courage Best, Hogs Back TEA and Deuchars IPA.

Lacking in atmosphere but the quietness was good in a way..

Jukebox is good.

5 Feb 2010 19:23

The Slug and Lettuce, Tonbridge

There was a Slug in my Lettuce!

5 Feb 2010 15:32

The Three Pigeons, Guildford

Service has been sloppy lately but they have apoligised when there has been any probs... so still worth a visit and good real ales...

31 Jan 2010 17:50

The Toad at the Dairy, Camberley

No - there Que Pasa is further down the road I think??

Well, whatever if this is RSVP now then its tripe. Full of chavs outside acting hard. Some crappy karaoke night helped bring them out!!

31 Jan 2010 17:49

The Claude Du Vall, Camberley

Decent Spoons... Served at least 4 real ales on when I visisted recently... Full of strange people but better than other places in Camberley like RSVP....

31 Jan 2010 17:46

The Inn On The Lake, Godalming

I'm not sure if this is a pub but it does serve a couple of ales so thus desevers a rating, lets say 3/10.

6 Dec 2009 02:47

The Anchor Inn, Godalming

Now called Bar OneTen. A very complicated musis venue, which has both good and bad points. The good points include the Real Ale which is certainly a bonus but the music itself can lead to an awkward atmosphere. 7/10.

6 Dec 2009 02:46

The Stage Door, Victoria

Did you lose everything?

3 Dec 2009 18:50

The Boatman, Guildford

All change please! All change!

This pub is now called the Boatman and the changes are not exactly dramatic but certainly noticeable.

It has become another Gastro Pub, rather than a typical ordinary pub. The choice of beer is less than before - there was Hogs Back T.E.A and an Otter beer. The Otter beer tasted fine.

The food looked good with typically fairly expensive prices but not out of my league. Worth going for a meal but not necessarily a session beer sort of place.

3 Dec 2009 18:46

The Broadoak Hotel, Ashton under Lyne

good place 2 stay the nite.

13 Nov 2009 01:19

The Dog And Pheasant, Waterloo

good beer and people 10/10

13 Nov 2009 01:18

The Five and Lime, Guildford

Hardly a drinkers paradise, more of a young persons place it must be said. If you wanna spend well over 3 quid for just a regular beer then i''d recomment this estabilishemtn but generally this pub is a bit of an over rated place and its not exactly cool on the music front either.. go 2 royal oak instead.

13 Nov 2009 01:17

Remix Bar, Woking

Does have some other bottled beers tucked away in the fridge. Mainly ok for a quick stay as the toilets need a lock on. Not a place to go for a number 2. They also have a downstairs room but that appears to be only open occasionally. Asahi, Peroni, Corona and Becks are the bottled beers which are cheaper some nights.

7 Nov 2009 16:05

The Bed Bar, Woking

Actually it is not that bad a bar - the drinks range is lager, with the likes of San Miguel and Fosters on tap but some other bottled beers tucked away in the fridge. Mostly i've encountered friendly people working here and would be back. The themed events are a bit hit and miss but occasionally worth a go. Really more of a young persons place than an older persons.

7 Nov 2009 16:03

The Prince Albert, Guildford

Pub quiz a disappointment, poor pub which needs a refurbishment.

26 Sep 2009 16:58

The Kings Head, Guildford

Its pretty gd right now...

Real ales of ESB, Discovery, Pride, Chiswick and Honey Dew - also selection of bottled beers.

ESB not as good as others. 10/10

26 Sep 2009 16:58

The Seahorse, Shalford

Ok visit on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, at least I thought it was quiet but there was a whole load of people inside today having a late lunch. Just a soft drink for me and much more quiet outside. Still a neat place.

16 Sep 2009 15:50

The Star Inn, Guildford

Yes - Shepherd Neame have now taken over and the range of drinks is the only noticeable change. Obviously some different ales to try and also noticeably Orangeboom and I believe Hullinium on tap so different lagers but this pub is perhaps a little drab and could do with a bit of an extra sparkle. 5/10.

12 Sep 2009 17:12

The Royal Oak, Guildford

It is a great shame that those horrible munchkins known as Fullers should take over from Gales, The greedy swines are getting everywhere and the beer is noticeable not as good as it used to be here. The food is edible.

30 Aug 2009 17:37

The White House, Guildford

Crap Fullers beers of late - shame as its a fine location.

30 Aug 2009 15:31

Ye Olde Ship Inn, Guildford

Absolutely fine to just come here for a drink and sit in the outside seating area which is somewhat small but generally enough room if not too busy. Inside the old fashioned style remains and there is a good few ales on including Tiger Beer. Not the bottled lager you understand.

20 Aug 2009 12:41

The Parrot Inn, Shalford

Another pub in Shalford and this was also a nice enough pub, if not quite as nice as the Seahorse. Nontheless the ales were good, Surrey Hills being my choice but there was also Doom Bar and London Pride. Interesingly they also sold an alcoholic ginger beer. Nice garden seating, if a little old fashioned both inside and outside. Feels like a pub set in Cornwall on a nice sunny day.

20 Aug 2009 12:40

The Seahorse, Shalford

A nice visit yesterday afternoon. Hard to know what to make of the interior, perhaps it just feels a tad common but it is pleasant enough nontheless. Sitting outside proved the best option on a warm sunny day and the lady at the bar was friendly. Invested in a Vendetta lager beer or something, whatever it is was called I really should have stuck to some ale! A fine place nontheless.

20 Aug 2009 12:38

The Boatman, Guildford

Visited again yesterday afternoon and was an excellent place to hang out on a warm August afternoon. The beers have not changed since my last visit but the pint of Greene King IPA was satisfactory.

I'd recommend this place on a warm sunny day, simply as there is massive outside seating by the river where you can watch the World go by.

20 Aug 2009 12:37

The Cheshire Cheese, Temple

If u like an old pub then u'll like it here !

16 Aug 2009 14:52

Thomas Henry K, Hayes

This the only pub in UK? I'm excited.

16 Aug 2009 14:50

The Red Lion, Avebury

Has to be worth a visit at least once given its location. Say no more.

16 Aug 2009 14:49

Sun Inn, Lydiard Millicent

Theres a better pub down the road by the river but i forgot the name.

16 Aug 2009 14:47

The Chicago Rock Cafe, Basingstoke

Good old Chicago Rock well it doesnt quite feel like the US OF A but it is ok when quiet but no doubt disgusting when packed.

16 Aug 2009 14:46

The Forresters Arms, Guildford

Not really an edge of town pub, so much as a totally isolated pub - i just worry about this 1!

16 Aug 2009 14:46

Bankes Arms Hotel and Country Inn, Studland

I echo what Grecian has to say about this place, I cannot add anything further but I found the staff friendly even if they looked a little rough and studenty but a fine place to come, probably best after seeing the rocks at old Harry incase u r drunk!!

16 Aug 2009 14:44

Bar 36, Guildford

This is known as Mandolay Hotel/Bar... Reopens in Septmber but not a place to take a drink only really.

16 Aug 2009 14:42

The Guildford Hotel, Guildford

Currently closed for refurbishment... Wonder what it shall be like when open, ie still a sports bar? We shall see

16 Aug 2009 14:41

The Black Bear Hotel, Wareham

Looks good on the outside but did not venture inside.

16 Aug 2009 14:40

The Legion, Guildford

Sex Chamber.... Really quite disgusting!!

16 Aug 2009 14:39

The Bull and Gate, Kentish Town

So - So.

24 Jul 2009 11:12

The Reef Bar, Waterloo

This is now known as Sloe and is a suitable place for watching out for train times from the roof top view! Only 1 ale in Pride i think they wanna sell you wine and stuff more.

24 Jul 2009 11:11

Wellesley, Waterloo

A warm and pleasant interior - this is a nice enough first stop off after getting the train to Waterloo. 4 real ales on and the London Pride was good. Showing Sky Sports news on the box which gets repetitive.

24 Jul 2009 11:10

The Drummond, Guildford

Great - apart from pricing being so expensive. I mean if you want cheap you kind of have to go somewhere worse. Lots of different beer to choose from and decent pub food.

15 Jul 2009 18:32

Black Horse, Nuthurst

A fine traditional english village pub located very nicely in a pretty garden area.

Interesting pictures inside of Jonathan Ross, Gary Lineker and Bruce Forsyth. Not that they have visited here I expect.

Good ales and food.

28 Jun 2009 16:40

The Royal Hotel, Guildford

Looks like this is going to turn into a restaurant anytime soon. That is good news as this seemed like an awful pub/hotel.

28 Jun 2009 16:38

The Boatman, Guildford

Popped in for a visit on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. First impressions are pretty good of the place.

The real ales on today were Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen. The pint of Speckled was in good form.

It appeared a busy spot for both eating and having a drink. The drinks were a little on the expensive side and rather unusually priced.

I found out there tends to be live music on Saturdays. Sitting outside by the river was a pleasant option on a fine day.

16 Jun 2009 18:04

The Villagers Inn, Blackheath

This pub simply wins out because of its splendid location in the heart of the Surrey country and for that alone it is worth a visit.

Indeed this pub seems to be tucked away from many other pubs and if thirsty or in need of something to eat this is the place to.

Drinks wise there was a couple of ales on only but you can always have a soft drink. Eating wise plenty of choice of food and vegetarian dishes too.

Overall the pub seemed a little on the run-down side as. Perhaps it could do with a little smartening up but if in the area its really the only choice.

14 Jun 2009 20:20

Pub, Chilworth

Fantastic venue situated just by the railway station but in fact also a fine place to stop off while having a walk in the area.

The first thing I notice about this pub is the large area and the second thing I notice is that it sells Greene King ales.

Good for a stop-off in the garden area while sipping a cold drink and a snack - I would recommend this area for that indeed.

I cannot comment on the food but eventually found the toilet areas and they were of a decent standard.

14 Jun 2009 20:17

The Live and Let Live, Guildford

one lump or 2?

12 Jun 2009 15:40

Fahrenheit 55, Guildford

Well - they seem to have removed the excellent San Miguel and replaced it with that awful Sagres lager. Why would they do such a thing? There are a few bottles ales but its a struggle to enjoy it at times.

11 Jun 2009 13:24

Scrumptious, Guildford

Walked past - Interesting to know it attracts Big Brother types. Perhaps that says it all about the place....

6 Jun 2009 16:53

The Queens Head, Weybridge

I remember this one walking up from Weybridge station. I did quite like the place itself, I have no idea what beer I drank. Actually It was a Stella I believe, now I do not normally drink Stella but this is probably because there was a lack of Real Ale. A must stop on a Weybridge pub crawl.

1 Jun 2009 15:49

The Grotto Inn, Weybridge

The magic of the Grotto, keeps on changing its appearance. Really I don't think they should both making it half restaurant. This pub is small enough already is there really any point in doing this? Otherwise I really like this place.

1 Jun 2009 15:47

The Slug and Lettuce, Weybridge

It is your typical chain pub really. However i've been to a few Slug and Lettuces around the country and this is definitely one of the better ones. I'd tend to avoid the food in a place like this, especially when its busy. But the beer can be ok.

1 Jun 2009 15:46

The Jolly Farmer, Weybridge

A pub that I struggle to remember for some reason. Perhaps because there was nothing utterly remarkable about it. I would say its a haven for your middle aged man who likes a pint of real ale. (I'm not quite middle aged yet I can assure you). Places tend to be for young people or for middle aged people, Why can't there be a place for people in their late 20s?

1 Jun 2009 15:45

The Hand and Spear, Weybridge

Just a little bit on the pricey side these days. Having said that I do quite like it but would not choose to visit on a Saturday evening as the crowd can be a bit 'posh' shall we say. Then again posh people are surely better than 'Chav' people. I am none of these things obviously.

1 Jun 2009 15:43

The British Volunteer, Weybridge

Visited some time ago and enjoyed my venture into the British Volunteer. Definitely a real tradional British feel to the venue but certainly worth the trip from Weybridge train station.

1 Jun 2009 15:42

Abaya, Weybridge

Visited when it was the Abaya. Was pricey and not much beer range but all in all was relaxed enough. Would not recommend on a Friday/Saturday evening.

1 Jun 2009 15:41

The Royal Oak, Guildford

Forgive it was the GALES HSB - easy to get them confused. The Fullers ESB is great but they don't sell it here - try Kings Head.

29 May 2009 11:06

The Royal Oak, Guildford

One of Guildfords Great Pubs. Avoid the ESB (Extra Special Bitter) Not the best - other than that this is top notch.

29 May 2009 11:05

The Robin Hood, Guildford

Does a good pint of Hepworth Iron Horse - worth a go.

29 May 2009 11:04

The Albany, Guildford

Improved! Popped in just recently and they now have Bombardier and Deuchars IPA on tap. Excited anyone?

29 May 2009 11:03

Farriers, Guildford

Popped in today and its pretty decent now. Ringwood and Sussex Bitter on Tap and i'm not a lager person but the only lagers on tap are Becks and Staropramen! Makes a change from the usual pubs selection of lagers I suppose! :-)

27 May 2009 17:41

The Kings Head, Guildford

Popped in today.... Doing great here for Bank Holiday Monday.

Was a nice day to sit outside in the sunny beer and the food was excellent! Good portions and solid value for money. Good beer range at the moment as well with Hobgoblin, Hogs Back, Courage Best and Tim Taylor on handpumps. Other beers as well, but why not choose the real ale!

25 May 2009 16:07

Slug and Lettuce, Guildford

0.2 out of 17 come on this is worst pub on bite?

23 May 2009 17:08

The Sovereigns, Woking

Cool especially if ales on form.

23 May 2009 17:04

Enzo's Bar, Woking

quite like it nice beer garden if 2 busy inside ok beer if u stay clear of the ultra expensive over rated peroni muck. good italian bar bad italian beer but i think they sold pride and bass before so ok for a pint nicer side of town.

23 May 2009 17:03

The Wheatsheaf, Horsell

i like it here good pub, nice enough people and good 4 eating a relief sometimes 2 be away from main town. its in horsell but not feels like woking.

23 May 2009 17:01

The Chameleon Bar, Woking

Meatmarket playing AWFUL music with awful beer and mostly awful people and bouncers..... enough said.

23 May 2009 17:00

O'Neills, Woking

Soso. Gets a bit 2 easy at times.

23 May 2009 16:59

The Station, Woking

Yep its ok ales change around a bit and seems 2 actually attract a decent crowd.

23 May 2009 16:58

Yates's, Woking

nobody really comes here if they have any class this is shocking close it down like they did in g,ford.

23 May 2009 16:58

Remix Bar, Woking

no comments - i guess people who like good beer dont come here very often. not good beer but a nice guy runs it.

23 May 2009 16:57

The Herbert Wells, Woking

Agreed with FashHarry and i still frequent Wetherspoons, a relief in a town of rubbish bars and pubs.

23 May 2009 16:56

RSVP, Woking

load of rubbish and thats just the bouncers standing outside thinking they are big and going to handle the foul mouthed yobs who frequent this scummy bar. do not bother if u want 2 have a decent evening out. any place thats going 2 play rnb and other nonsense is probably going 2 suck.

23 May 2009 16:55

The Catherine of Aragon, West Byfleet

should be described as the chavmont as that would sum it up a hell of a lot better. really pretty scummy. pride saved the day to an extent but had 2 move to a desserted table away from the rough looking mongrels and wait to see if they started a fight. outside there is a large amount of fag ends all around the pub and loads of the usual smashed bottles and lager cans why is it always lager cans such as stella that get thrown everywhere. yeah this is a stella pub. shit.

23 May 2009 16:51

The Bed Bar, Woking

somehow misses a trick or two as this place could be a classy bar but unpleasant plastic smell everywhere. poor.

23 May 2009 16:46

Yates's, Reading

Most miserable staff in the World. agree with beersupper.

18 Apr 2009 15:00

The Purple Turtle, Reading

Rough venue, Really poor.

18 Apr 2009 14:58

The Fez Club, Reading

Come here if your desperate.

18 Apr 2009 14:57

The Horse and Jockey, Reading

Boring pub. Only good for music bands.

18 Apr 2009 14:56

All Bar One, Guildford

Elana, good work but I have a feeling your very HaHa biased. Could it be that you are infact a member of the HaHa team and want to get people down there? Going by the fact that this is your first post I would suggest so but I can hardly blame you the place is empty in the daytime. Not my cup of tea anyway have fun at HaHa.

17 Apr 2009 11:34

Old Orleans, Guildford

Personally I think it is a restaurant which serves beer. Not very good beer and a little on the pricey side, but location is all important as people in the pub and restaurant trade shall know. If your going to be near the cinema your going to attract customers. But this belongs on Restaurantintheevening.com

17 Apr 2009 11:30

Players Lounge, Guildford

No thank you.

17 Apr 2009 11:28

Bar Med, Guildford

No thank you.

17 Apr 2009 11:27

The Astolat, Guildford

Mixed impressions at the end of the day. Situated at the slightly rougher end of the town but this is a worthwhile pub on a good day with accepetable mixture of drinks on offer and a fair range of entertainment on offer. Not too bad for an edge of town pub. I can't remember the real ales they had on so look forward to returning.

17 Apr 2009 11:27

Bridge House, Copsale

Closed I think.

15 Apr 2009 10:50

Auberge, Guildford

Not a pub but I have eaten here. Found the food to be ready prepared as I think I have said in the past. Personally the prices of beer are truely shocking. Unless I am very much mistaken a Hoegaarden was a staggering 3.90 a pint. Why bother when you can get a four pack from the off-licence? Dead atmosphere.

14 Apr 2009 23:41

The Albany, Guildford

Too many name changes and this is really just a pretentious restaurant at the moment. They've had offers of half price meals to try and entice the customers during this credit crunch. It is a place people will go in the evening as it is dead during the daytime. Like others have said though the price of the beer is sky high. You can surely do better than come here. There are better pubs in town. Even the ale is not that special.

14 Apr 2009 23:39

Bridge Barn, Woking

On the outskirts of Woking and a neat little find. Beer choice was average. But a worthwhile eating spot so better than main town. Or if simply having a walk by the river.

19 Mar 2009 13:45

The Crown, Horsell

Good Crack. Quiet atmosphere until the jolly pub quiz gets going.

19 Mar 2009 13:43

The Crown, Horsell

Good Crack. Quiet atmosphere until the jolly pub quiz gets going.

19 Mar 2009 13:43

The Station, Woking

Not to be confused with the train station. This pub does a few good ales and somewhat confusingly has an upstairs pool area - not that you'd ever know if popping in for a quick one. I recall seeing Pride and Greene King IPA as guest Ales.

19 Mar 2009 13:41

The Herbert Wells, Woking

I like it here. Best range of drinks i've seen in a long time. Does anyone know the story of the guy in the gents getting everyone to wash their hands...?

13 Dec 2008 11:53

Yates's, Woking

Not much in the way of good beer here as you'd expect. Would not trust myself enough to eat here either!

23 Nov 2008 11:48

The Stoke, Guildford

Have my old smelly toothbrush Beersupper, yes you can try doing that in the driving rain as well...!!

This is a good pub and does have some good ales on a lucky day. Nothing wrong with this 1 at all.

14 Nov 2008 18:50

The Kings Head, Guildford

Visited the other day. The ales are still the same but the Courage Best was off. The Courage Directors is a good beer also. If you like lager there is generally, Stella, Carlsberg, Fosters, Kronunberg 1664 and San Miguel. If you like Cider they have Strongbow. I just have no idea why you'd choose to drink it!

13 Nov 2008 12:51

Fahrenheit 55, Guildford

Visisted here recently - Its a bar really and not a pub. There is a mini outside area, but not so great for a cold winter evening. They are keen on selling San Miguel beer in this Spanish Themed Tapas Bar. I quite like it for a late evening drink.

13 Nov 2008 12:49

The Keep, Guildford

Visited recently - Pub is still quiet with friendly service. Adnams beer had replaced Surrey Hills, maybe Surrey Hills shall return. The Adnams Broadside is good so it was no great loss.

13 Nov 2008 12:47

Project Orange, Battersea

Really an interesting little place, different with plenty of atmosphere. lots of world beers. Think i over-did them as this led to a hangover! I didnt even notice if they have beer on draught. 7/10

20 Oct 2008 10:20

The Cricketers, Cobham

Recent visit, food is good here, empty on an October day, plenty of real ales.

16 Oct 2008 13:43

The Cricketers, Westfield

Noticeably, just the one real ale on tap. So better for lager, nontheless the real ale was good.

Quiet venue on last visit, even the Live Music does not bring in the punters. Nice venue, and not rough as some have suggested. Although the gentleman's room needs a slight sort out. :-) 9/10

5 Oct 2008 11:03

Farriers, Guildford

Popped in for a meal. What a disaster! staff are all over the place you are sat there waiting for a menu to arrive. The menu itself is a mess, lunchtime/evening menu, why do they make it so confusing? The size of the meals was ridiculous considering the heavy prices they were asking for... This one can retire gracefully to the back of my list! 1/10 for being a nice historic building.

4 Oct 2008 14:13

The Alexandra, Farnborough

Now i'm glad they've had a refurbishment here, and I intend to visit.

1 Oct 2008 15:44

The Horse Bar, Waterloo

Now if i was looking to pull this is the place i'd come. ;)

1 Oct 2008 15:42

The Crown and Cushion, Waterloo

Bit of a funny pub this one, but certainly has lots of characters. 4/10

1 Oct 2008 15:41

The Reef Bar, Waterloo

Its getting a new name and refurbishment now. Closed for time-being.

1 Oct 2008 15:40

The Hole In The Wall, Waterloo

Now coming in here is what the centre of London is all about. For anyones first trip to London Waterloo, come in here and you'll feel like its 1950, real character with the sound of trains going overhead too. 8/10 because i'd miss it if it wasnt there.

1 Oct 2008 15:37

The Fire Station, Waterloo

I'll rate it as a restaurant then - Oh wait actually just had a drink here, pint of I can't remember what was well over 3. No seats available, they were saved for the people dining. 1/10

1 Oct 2008 15:35

Wellesley, Waterloo

Quite a nice station bar really. Terribly expensive, but a decent clientele and decent staff. Watch out for the code number if your just using the gentlemans room mind you. 8/10

1 Oct 2008 15:34

The Cricketers, Cobham

Has that old fashioned pub style inside, unlike many new style of Gastro pubs. They do plenty of food here, so in that regard it is a bit like a restaurant too. Heavy on the pricing, but nice on a sunny day nontheless.

28 Sep 2008 11:50

Farriers, Guildford

Good for ale, but engineered for people who want a meal really. Have to sit downstairs if you just want a drink..

22 Sep 2008 16:39

The Live and Let Live, Guildford

No loss if its shut again, weird pub this one. Reminds me of some losers who pick on people at school. 'What so you drink Guinness, Haha - we only drink Carling in here mate, get lost!'

22 Sep 2008 16:37

The Boileroom, Guildford

Yeah, pretty good music venue. Music on every night if you can be bothered to get on down there. Chilled out. On last visit beer was generally Guinness, San Miguel, Budvar and Sol. Also crappy coors if your into it!

22 Sep 2008 16:36

The Red Lion, Godalming

Looks like the pub is back to its best. Traditional, so much interesting beer, pub is flocked with memorabilia from yesteryear, wow this takes you back a few years. Pool table bang in the middle of the room. Its crazy, but just bizarre. Amazing pub!

19 Sep 2008 10:31

The Star, Godalming

Ok, but Red Lion is just as good.

19 Sep 2008 10:30

The Sun, Godalming

Badger beer is over rated in my opinion. Little rough around the edges but ok on a drunk night out.

19 Sep 2008 10:29

The Lounge Bar, Godalming

Quite an odd place. Not sure why though. Godalming just has such old, small places, they create an eerie atmosphere.

19 Sep 2008 10:28

Hush, Godalming

Really small little bar. Chilled out though.

19 Sep 2008 10:27

Jack George Phillips, Godalming

Good Spoons.

The Sovereigns, Woking

Beer is hit and miss. Good venue though.

The Goldsworth Arms, Woking

Owners keep changing lately. Try Sovereigns instead.

Archee's Bar and Restaurant, Woking

Not bad.

19 Sep 2008 10:25

Enzo's Bar, Woking

Good.

The Bed Bar, Woking

They do quite a few theme nights. More upmarket than Chameleon.

Casino, Guildford

I don't think this is a pub. Get it off the site!

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Yeah, can't beat it. Its what you expect, its what you get, the food is alright, this isnt some posh restaurant after all. And you'll always find new beers to drink here.

Flares, Guildford

Pretty bad i'm afraid. Somewhere for the drunk lager louts to go to. Perhaps its not crap all the time, don't go on a Friday/Saturday though. The title Flares says it all, was better when it was called Edwards.

The Star Inn, Guildford

Yeah, like Doyenne says this is a proper pub for the real drinker. Not one of these pay 3.60 for your pint of Kronenburg nonsense. The likes of the Kings Head and the Star are the top pubs around town. You've got Greene King IPA, Youngs, 6X and that Hobgoblin on tap.

The Legion, Guildford

I agree with Gtowngal, this is a bad, bad venue. By the way your doing yourself a favour by not coming here. Especially in terms of beer money. I think they just want a certain type of people in here... Sexy girls so the people in charge can watch.. Terrible really.

The Kings Head, Guildford

Same ales on for a long time now as SurreyPubMan suggests. Indeed Of the ales, i'd only recommend the Courage Best. This is a nice old pub though, which has a jukebox, and apparently a ghost! Its never been one of those pubs for events such as pub quizzes and live music. Its just a good traditional drinkers pub. 10/10

The Keep, Guildford

Best pub in town at the moment. Crazy to say that when they only sell one ale - Surrey Hills. It is just nice and neat and friendly.

Jo Clarks, Guildford

I really can't see what is confusing about the layout here, you basically have a downstairs room, an upstairs room which has an outside patio area and some toilets upstairs too. Not quite my cup of tea or my pint of beer. There are however bottled beers!

Slug and Lettuce, Guildford

Wow, such a low rating. Indeed I visited this place now, and i'll keep up the fun and give it 0/10. Mainly because my pint of Fruli Strawberry was as much as 3.90. It was also virtually clear of any customers apart from one very weird guy dancing. 0/10 from to people? Someone surely likes it.

The White House, Guildford

Staff can be a little bit up themselves here. Food is a little pretentious and over-priced. Beer is of a decent standard and its good location are what make up for the problems. 5/10 from me, middle of the range.

3 Sep 2008 14:08

The George Abbot, Guildford

Like the previous guy, i'd recommend Greene King IPA. Think the beer range could be better here. On that note i'll leave it a 5/10 for nice enough pub and decent service. Also shows Sentanta Sports which is neat.

3 Sep 2008 14:07

The Guildford Tup, Guildford

Not too lively this one. The deuchars IPA is ok, and i'd recommend it to real ale fans. Personally I find this one a bit dull and bland, only 2/10 from me.

3 Sep 2008 14:05

The Guildford Hotel, Guildford

Nothing wrong with this being called the Guildford Hotel. I do indeed like this name plus any pub which is passionate about sport interests me. Try the murphys irish stout for beer. 9/10 from me.

3 Sep 2008 14:04

Auberge, Guildford

Really its a restaurant but you can go there for just a drink. Hideously over-priced and something of a place which attracts arrogant businessmen. Maybe I just had a bad visit, but only 2/10 left from me.

3 Sep 2008 14:03

The Albany, Guildford

Couple of standard real ales on, they change from month to month, not too bad a beer pub.

On the entertainment side of things there has been regular live music with Gavin and his Guitar.

8/10 from me.
