The Queens Head, Aldershot

Three staff behind the bar and two deliberately ignored me and another person waiting. There were plates left on tables for half an hour or more, but these for two chatting was more important. If you don't like pub work, find another job. Plenty of barstaff who do want to do the job, can then do the work properly and not be so lazy. This place was very good when it first opened, just going downhill fast now.
The food was ok, my steak was not overdone for a change. If the staffing issues were sorted out, this pub could be a real gem in the Wetherspoons chain. Will try again and see if this was a one off, somehow I doubt it.

The Bird In Hand, Saltford

A very friendly welcome, as the previous reviewer noted. Gladly provided my wife an item off the lunch menu on a Friday evening, due to her dietary requirements. If you are going to eat here I recommend reserving a table, as it gets very busy. The menu might be a bit limited for some, but there is a 'specials' board, and the pub makes up in quality to what some may consider a lack of choice.

My Salmon in a saffron and seafood sauce off the 'specials' board was superb, and for desert the meringue is a fantastic way to round off the meal. Mains were roughly a tenner and the deserts were £4.50, pretty good value and quality food.

Now has Symonds Cyder on draught, went down a treat.

The Coronet, Holloway

Used to like this place but not anymore. After asking for my pint to be topped up, the barman told me it was fine. I replied that he was breaking the law, and I would like a full pint please. He got very stroppy and now wont serve me at all. I've got news for you mr stroppy, if I never see you again it will be to soon. Your job is to serve a PINT of beer, try remembering that the next time you try and con your next customer. And a nice try at shortchanging me too, a really cute touch. Maybe a complaint to head office is in order.

First Class Sports Bar, Wembley

In this place, you would be better off eating the plastic glass, and throw away the shoddy lager contained within. The memorabilia is quite interesting , just a shame you can't bring your own beer. The managers a character, true enough, not so entertaining that I want to pay 3.50 a shocking pint to be in his company though.

The Edmund Tylney, Leatherhead

Got completely ignored for a few minutes, even though there was only 3 people at the bar. The 2 bar staff seemed to think it very funny. The only thing i found funny was the taste of my drink. Avoid like the plague, the youngs pub down the road is a far better bet.

Royal Oak Inn, Exminster

The food is very good here. The sunday roast is superb value for 6.50. You get; 2 large slices of beef(or turkey, or 1 of each)a large yorkshire pud, roast potatoes, 3 veg, stuffing balls and a half a sauage wrapped in bacon. You even get a gravy boat to top up your plate. The place was empty, which was a real surprise considering the quality and reasonable prices. The bar staff are friendly and efficient, and there's a plasma sreen tv. If i'm down Exeter way again, i will definately return to this pub. They also do plenty of entertainment at the weekends too.

The Wellington Arms, Sandhurst

Used this pub before going to Sandhurst Town FC, just down the road. Very friendly bar staff, and the clientele too. We only tried the bageuettes with (hot) chips off the light menu , and they were excellent. Will definately return in Summer, even though its 20 miles away from us. Loads of seating outside for the Summer months, the only detraction being the main road right beside the decking. A nice high fence would sort that little problem out, and this place will be perfect. There's a plaque in the car park, 'Brakespeare's pub of the year 2006' and well deserved it is too.
