where to start with this pub i have been using TBF on and off for many years now mostly for its carvery on sundays, but after a very poor lunch a month or so ago we now avoid like the plague on our last visit food was cold and tastless real ale tasted like vineger, most of the lighting was not working (toilets and dining area) add this to the death trap that is the childrens play area, just awful

i have to agree with Kath, TBF is a pig pen and this pub is head and sholders above its local rivals just a shame i have to rely on lifts if i want to sample more than one pint or this would be a great local

a good ale pub thought i have noticed the food is not as it once was, though its still better than some others in the local area

this pub underwent a refurbishment earlier in the year and is now quite pricey but that aside the food is of a good standard and the fulller ales are of excellent quality several sampled and all enjoyed pride, esb, discovery and chiswick where all available on my last visit........ a worthy 7/10

The White Star Tavern, Southampton
several very respectable pints of ringwood quaffed on my visit last week nice place though a tad expensive 7/10

real ales are always in good condition though i have never eaten here its easily the best pub within walking distance 7/10
