The New Inn, Halse

Visited for lunch while waiting for the train to Minehead on the West Somerset Railway.
Enthusiastic welcome for our two dogs by theirs and the staff.
Great lunch but wife forgot her handbag which she didn't realise until we were all on the train.
Staff went through her handbag and phoned my mobile to no avail, it was off.
On return from Minehead went back to the pub where it was explained what they had tried to do to contact us - full marks for their efforts.
Sounded as if the place was under new management and they were really trying to make a difference.
Will definitely make another visit when we are in the area. Great beers - wife can drive me home afterwards!

The Tom Mogg Inn, Burtle

Had a cheap meal here but it deserved to be cheap and I wouldn't have liked to have paid any more for it.
Felt it was more like canteen grub than a pub meal

The Ring O'Bells, Ashcott

Excellent variety of beers. Eat in the bar area or a separate non-smoking dining room from an extensive and reasonably priced menu or from a board of "specials" that are normally sufficient to satisfy any palate.
Friendly staff and family owned.

The Crown Inn, Catcott

Enjoyed an excellent pint of Butcombe's real ale followed by a delicious meal that we really enjoyed beside a real log fire. Friendly feeling and will definitely visit again.

The Two Brewers, Street

Real ales, reasonably priced and excellent food, friendly staff and customers PLUS NO MUSIC.
Just the place for a quiet beer or a family meal as children are well provided for, unfortunately no dogs are allowed.
