The Albion, Hampton Court

Sorry to disagree with everyone but I think this pub is OK. Maybe I need to get a life I don`t know. I don`t drink beer - only wine and the Albion seems to have what I want. They`re one of the rare pubs that have updated their decor and kept the atmosphere without becoming like an All Bar One. It still feels like a pub. Maybe we`re never going to get the drinks we want in a pub (I`d like Moet et Chandon at a good price -dream on) but if I want to go somewhere where my friends and I can have a few drinks in a good atmosphere then I think the Albion`s OK. I don`t give a shit who the landlady is just as long as I can get served with a nice drink and find somewhere to sit to drink it

The Up'n'Under, Twickenham

I feel really sorry for the staff in this pub because I wonder how long they`re going to have ajob for. I went in there early one Friday evening and asked for a glass of Cabernet. Not only did they not have Cabernet, they didn`t have any red wine at all - only rose and at the beginning of the weekend. The barman apologised but he was only trying to make up for the shortfall of the crap manager who was nowhere to be seen. This used to be a lively pub but on the plus side if you want a night out in Twickenham and it`s really busy with no spare seats in any of the pubs go to the Up and Under - you`ll have a good choice of somewhere to sit

The Crown Inn, West Down

I haven`t been to this pub for just a drink for many years but as far as food is concerned I think it`s great. This pub has become more acclaimed for it`s food these days and rightly so. I`m a local but live in London and if we had a place where I live that did such good, reasonably priced wholesome food as the Crown it would be packed out. Definitely recommended but book in advance on a saturday or in high season

The Eel Pie, Twickenham

Great pub which has stayed traditional. Nice not to have to listen to loud music when I`m having a conversation. I must admit the last time I was in there I took a look at the decor and it could do with some serious updating and I mean serious. Just a good clean of the ancient carpets and maybe a good scrup to get rid of 30 years of nicotine (since the smoking ban it doesn`t smell too good). Good atmosphere though
