Was very disappointed that the new manager won't reserve tables for groups planning to gather to watch specific matches. I don't know if this policy will pay off as they've certainly lost out on 20 or so big beer drinkers on what otherwise would be a quietish Tues night.

Nice enough place on the inside and so easy to get to being right next door to the tube station - more of a Bar then a pub However be very careful about ordering a soft drink there - they totally fill up the entire glass to the very top with ice first and then pour in the soft drink - by far the most watery cola I've had in London in years and quite expensive. So using the words "No Ice" before every order is very important here.

Also their overhead signs says there are two for one deals available everyday and when we went there at 6pm on a Saturday - there was a single sheet of A4 paper just printed off with a very short list of food available saying sports day menu. The pub is known for showing sports all day, everyday so this could be a permanent menu for all we know. The burger and chips tasted good and was served in quite a nice space saving plate. However the quickly done up menu didn't explain it contains bacon, etc in it either which Jewish or Muslim customers especially might appreciate to know in advance before placing their orders..

Also the wait to be served is very long. When we went there it wasn't all that busy - just 6pm on a Saturday with no major games happening but the staff that were there took forever to serve you and when they did you had to repeat your order several times as they were not native speakers of English, so you struggled a bit to get your order in. This could be such an amazing place to visit on a regular basis but it's all let down by bad service and trying to squeeze every last penny out of the customer for the least amount of effort.

Went in last night for the WBA v Saints game. Pride and Brains SA Gold were supposedly available but I'm not sure the Pride was ever on. The Brains ran out towards the end of the evening and they still wouldn't turn the pump clips around.

Had a steak sandwich which was ok but nothing special.

Worth a visit if there is a game you want to see that is clashing with another match. On a Saturday night when I'd visited before they were charging to get in but don't know if they still do.

Had an absolute blast in here during the Liverpool Arsenal Champions league game, refreshing to see and hear the game I wanted without another commentary.

Only gripe is the flimsy plastic glasses, other than that great night had by all.

Long may it continue.

yippee, a new manager has taken over this wonderful pub, I'm sure we will get better service (I hear this new guy is tops)now, and we can watch our sport in peace without someone warbling on a microphone thinking he is bigger than sport itself, I for one will welcome the new manager as I know lots of my/our friends will, I will let you know.
