More typical Greene King pub. Youngs Original, Special and London Pride were available. The Pride was mediocre at best but the Youngs was just about acceptable. Barman didn't have a clue how to pull a pint though and I was usually left standing for 5 minutes while he struggled to pour 2 beers. Wouldn't rush here but not a huge amount in the area. Not cheap. Food was good though, especially the pie of the day. Sharp - 31 Aug 2008 21:25
Friendly service but guest beer was off. Could be anywhere however, its so bland and lacking in character outsidewrecker04 - 1 Nov 2007 17:59
Stella was good but otherwise a study in mediocrity...my beautiful girlfriend didn't much appreicate having her arse oogled by uncouth punters at the cigarette machine either. TS77 - 21 May 2007 14:41
I used to work in here a long time ago, when it was called the Rat and Parrot and I must say that it hasn’t really changed that much – except for the staff being much friendlier. I could be wrong but I think it was also called the George before it became the Rat and Parrot. It is well known in the area as a great pub for watching the Football (prem +) on a Saturday, but like a lot of people I never use it any other time. Strongers - 21 Mar 2007 14:36
Apparently this used to be called The Rat and Parrot and has had a refurb. Well it worked. I really liked the decor and the atmosphere.Nice pint of Bombadier. I had a beef sandwich which was a little disapointing. When I casualy remarked that I would liked to have had the mustard seperate, the bar girl offered to replace it.I declined but I was impressed by the curtesy of the mainly female staff. Good place to drop in in the afternoons at least tinsoldier - 19 May 2006 21:56
