More typical Greene King pub. Youngs Original, Special and London Pride were available. The Pride was mediocre at best but the Youngs was just about acceptable. Barman didn't have a clue how to pull a pint though and I was usually left standing for 5 minutes while he struggled to pour 2 beers. Wouldn't rush here but not a huge amount in the area. Not cheap. Food was good though, especially the pie of the day.

Friendly service but guest beer was off. Could be anywhere however, its so bland and lacking in character

Stella was good but otherwise a study in mediocrity...my beautiful girlfriend didn't much appreicate having her arse oogled by uncouth punters at the cigarette machine either.

I used to work in here a long time ago, when it was called the Rat and Parrot and I must say that it hasn’t really changed that much – except for the staff being much friendlier.
I could be wrong but I think it was also called the George before it became the Rat and Parrot.

It is well known in the area as a great pub for watching the Football (prem +) on a Saturday, but like a lot of people I never use it any other time.

Apparently this used to be called The Rat and Parrot and has had a refurb. Well it worked. I really liked the decor and the atmosphere.Nice pint of Bombadier. I had a beef sandwich which was a little disapointing. When I casualy remarked that I would liked to have had the mustard seperate, the bar girl offered to replace it.I declined but I was impressed by the curtesy of the mainly female staff. Good place to drop in in the afternoons at least
