Wow, the professionalism of this place knows no boundries!!! I've just been short-changed £10 from them after giving a £20 pound note to them (I bought a pint of Hobgoblin and a pint of Becks [for my mate] ) I disputed this with the staff and showed them a bank statement and the STILL REFUSED to give me the money they owe me. The female bar-tender there even admitted to me that the books don't always balance and said to me earlier in the night that "They even appear to be £10 pounds down". Professionalism at it's highest. I've been drinking at many places in and around Liverpool (where I'm from) and I have NEVER had this problem before, to say I'm dissapointed is an understatement. It's pathetic.

I work in the pub and the last message pretty much sums up the day to day trade we get... were still trying to find the switch that turns off the crazy people magnet

The best/worse you can say is that it's mediocre. The bitter is usually uninspired so I'm stuck with drinking Wife Beater. Having said that, the food, for a pub chain, is pretty good, the staff are excellent (if understaffed - always one less than they need), it's very reasonably priced and it's not the Kro Bar.

As a bonus, you occasionally get the odd alkie hopped up on hospital soap who's somehow got his internal pub satnav to guide him in there. Bets can be placed with colleagues about which direction he will inevitably crash to the floor. North, south, east, west? Round and round he goes...

Good cheap drinks and quite cheap food, and you can get a student discount card for only a quid, so it's all good. Handy for students wanting a bit of a pick-me-up between lectures.

Cheap beer, decent standard of pub food, friendly atmosphere, pleasant staff. Have been here every weekend since I relocated to watch the football, always seems to be a lot going. Unpretentious Studenty type place on the edge of Manchester city centre.
