Must be one of the most under rated pubs in the area, a proper pub and I've always had an excellent pint of Cheddar Potholer (Butcombe & Doombar seem to be other regulars). Staff always are friendly. Probably best to avoid when big football matches or other sporting events are on if they aren't your thing as it will be shown on a big screen telly with others scattered around and this isn't a big pub, but if you like this sort of thing.....

Something of a commuter pub, so very busy after work, very quiet at other times. It always has some great beers on, one of the few places to regularly do Bath Ales Barnstormer on tap. I wish theyd sort the harsh strip lighting out! If the weather is at all nice, stand outside, enjoy the evening sun and the views of St Mary Redcliffe

this was probably the nicest looking pub i have ever been in. Had a couple pints of doombar which were excellent and the owner was very friendly. Next trip back to the U.K. I will come here again and bring my camera.

Traditional old style pub with lots of red carpet, red carpeted barstools, an ornate wooden bar and etched mirrors on the walls. Decent enough ambience, although very quiet on a recent Tuesday night visit. Perhaps the £3.05 for a pint of Thatcher's Gold is a tad on the expensive side. There's a large plasma in the corner that was showing football.
The only beers on were Butcombe and Bath Ales Barnstormer, although there were also pumps for Jem and Doom Bar. Ciders were Blackthorn and Thatcher's Gold.
