After reading the following in the local paper I wont botther visiting almost right outside here.
TWO men were charged with murder this week after a double stabbing in Highgate. Timur Gosov, 26, a Russian, died at the scene - close to Highgate Tube Station at the junction of Shepherds Hill and Archway Road - from stab wounds to the back and chest last Thursday evening at around 11.30pm.

I must say i'm somewhat suprised to read so many negative comments about this bar. I'd been in there a couple of times during the week after work and it's always been warm, quiet and welcoming and the jukebox is brilliant... So, I took my girlfriend there this Friday, initially for a quiet early drink but we ended up staying there all night. We honestly had the best night out since moving to London 6 months ago. It was really buzzy, there was a great atmosphere, everyone seemed very friendly... and the DJ set was without doubt one of the best we've ever heard, the whole bar was dancing by the end of the night & there wasn't a long face in the house - they even had me on my feet which is unheard of! Definitely worth a visit, no doubt about it.

Bouncer reeeally looks like Salman Rushdie.
Great music generally but staff really not cool. They don't give a shit about their clientele or anyone having a good time. You are constantly being told where to/where not to sit and stand.

Agree totally - the best bit about this pub is watching the teenage Primark-clad emo-chicks and their spotty boyfriends standing a few yards down the road, trying to get up the courage to blag their way in...

Shithole, full of self-satisfied, yet remarkably badly dressed idiots who think they're mates with Pete Doherty because they once read in the metro that he drinks here. The landlord must be loving it though as he prices the beer expensively in the full knowledge that star-f**kers like these will pay just about anything to say they've been.
