Nice bar, Fruli on tap. only downside no table and chairs outside, so can be uncomfortable if you are a smoker, apparently the council objected to having tables and chairs outside. European cafe culture, *I dont think so. theregent - 2 Jun 2008 19:30
i quite liked this place - good quality beer and the girl serving us in the upstairs bar last week was brilliant - witty, informed, happy.. really very small and pokey toilets tho.... adamsant - 23 Apr 2008 18:21
Much better from it's previous incarnation as the faux Irish establishment O'Neill's. Mayfair was crying out for a bar like this the decor is retro 1970's but feels and looks right. A good selection of continental lagers, some real ales(not my scene) good wine list and extensive range of spirits. As for the bar staff no complaints there very friendley and professional. clean and tidy establishment, couldnt imagine the hopheads liking this place too upmarket for them. A good place to have a drink before watching a film at the Curzon. I have to conclude that this is the best establishment in the area, apart from Windows the bar on the top floor of the Hilton. theregent - 5 Apr 2008 17:52
Now called the Market Tavern after a complete refurb. Gone upmarket as is the trend these days, could fair well in this area. Extensive range of lagers and 3 real ales on when i visited, very dimly lit with fairly indifferent staff. sprungmonkey - 9 Jan 2008 18:13
I think this pub is great happened to come across it one evening and was pleasantly suprised, not over crowded but pleasantly busy and somewhere to sit(always a bonus!) And its the first pub where when I asked for a glass of nice white wine I was offered a good selection and helped in my choosing by the very friendly bar person! I and my friends thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are planning on stumbling across this pub again! well done Staff!! maggi - 19 Sep 2007 17:31
