This is just one of those pubs you feel lucky to have found, its off the beaten track in a wonderful old candlelit georgian (?)building with fantastic ales on tap and a restaurant out the back that just keeps things nice and simple and all very reasonable.

An absolute gem of a pub! Have been coming to this place on and off for a number of years and despite several changes in ownership, it has kept its character. Excellent roast beef lunch - one of the best I've eaten! A fine selection of well kept real ales, too. The previous review is spot on : you do .."leave this place with a sense of wellbeing and contentment."

A brilliant country pub hidden away in a charming little village, visit on a warm summer evening, sit in the stunning garden, absorb the tranquil views, finally decide on what you want eat, feast, give thanks to the landlord and leave with a sense of wellbeing and contentment.

Had a Sunday lunch here. Excellent roast and reasonable price. Taylor's Landlord was very good. Building looks a little odd (i.e., has character), inside and outside, being an ex-tannery. Staff were very friendly.

A great starting/finishing point for circular walks in the locality
