| Further to my last comment the pub has changed hands and is on the up again. Under private ownership so it should be protected from the hassles of large pubcos. New licensees Gary and Katy are trying hard with a focus on live bands. | The last pub which I would recommend in the Village of Ripponden. Recently changed hands and little used by anyone (Lamdlord regularly locks up and goes drinking the Golden Lion next door!!). Admittedly based on 1 visit. No trad beer and no Guiness. Sold my soul to the devil and tried a pint of 'smooth'. Looked vaguely like beer but tasted more like Dettol.
