Two out of the three pints of beer I was offered on a recent visit were undrinkable.
The Theakstons XB was not only cloudy but had large bits floating in it, I haven't seen that sort of thing in a long time.
I was accused of being rude when I asked for it to be changed.
Any perceived rudeness on my part was eclipsed somewhat by the foul language from the locals, which appeared to be acceptable.

I didn't eat here so probably missed out on this pub's best aspect, but when I visited on a Saturday night I wasn't impressed - a poor selection of ales did not tempt. It also seemed that they'd got rid of one of the doors (maybe I'm wrong?) so the pub is now an L shape, with a door at one end of the L and a long walk through the pub to the other end, which appeared to be in the midst of decoration. Could do better.

Charitable institution devoted to the promotion of meat consumption: there is a fresh meat raffle after the pub quiz and the food is almost certainly the cheapest in Oxford. In fact it's so cheap you could probably afford to taxi here and back and still feel it was good value for money. The drinks seem to subsidise this altruistic distribution of meat, but are tasty enough. Good roomy pub with great atmosphere. Worth checking out. The food is by the way tasty enough, and comes in large portions. Vegetarians, students and locals all well-catered for.

Cheap pub grub, good selection of cask ales and a good mix of students and locals. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazingly good value food. Nice atmosphere -- locals and students rubbing along very amicably. Friendly staff.
