| Typical large, cheap spoons pub. Neither a particularly good one nor is it a particularly bad one. ppw - 14 Aug 2011 10:02 |
| I have visited the pub on several occasion and usually there's a pretty good selection of cask ales on tap. I called in yesterday afternoon (29/5/11) and found only two available? Although 5 hand pumps had clips on saying "coming soon"? What's all that about? I'm guessing no one could change a barrel? It was very busy, staff were over stretched & the beer selection was poor...but no excuse, come on "Spoons" you can do better then this, on this occasion, a big disappointment. | next to bury parish church.named after the founder of the police who was from bury.was on a tom woods beer which was a better pint than lloyds the art house. an average spoons which i rate better than lloyds forestwood - 10 Nov 2010 18:50 |
| Certainly one of the better Spoons I've ever been in. 10 (possibly 12 - I can't count that high!) pumps with some interesting small brewers. Tried a couple of pints yesterday morning from Greenfield Brewery at £1.80 and both in excellent condition. Service was fine even though there ere quite a few breakfasts being served at the same time. cheshirecat - 3 Jul 2010 09:50 |
| We often call in here for tea when visiting the nearby Bury Met. There's usually a selection of 6 or 7 guest beers in addition to the Spoons 3 regular ales. The beer quality has always been good and the staff efficient and friendly. One of the better JDW houses. LittleFamilyFish - 2 Oct 2009 10:54 |
