In here last Saturday lunch time
Only two other punters and no real ale.
A bit dark, I wasn't sure it was open at first.

Time to update my review.

Archivist was right, it looked like a 60s pub, but it is actually quite old. It had the standard Ansells makeover in the 60s or 70s which made it look of that era

It's just been refurbed, but sadly the refurb has actually made it worse inside, though the outside now looks smart: The bar used to have a few booths around the edge, and some carpet, but now is hard flooring and upright chairs and tables- all the hard surfaces make it noisy- very noisy.

The lounge was previously not used much, and now is open but it could be nicer- it tends to get a bit creche-like and the sofas aren't comfortable.

Shame really, as otherwise my previous comments stand. The staff are pleasant the beer OK provided you're OK with the stuff Archivist mentions.

The pub is a free standing, mainly 60s looking building, with the paint peeling and looking a bit tired from the outside. There is a beer garden. I only saw the bar area, which had a pool table, with again, wallpaper, carpets and seats looking a bit tired - It was friendly and clientele mixed. Two TVs played different things (The Bill and Sky Sports News) with little sound.

The beer was the usual stuff, with Banks's MILD smooth. They had ran out of coke, just having the diet version. Whole place feels tired to me, wont bother again.

A nice enough local pub: dominated by the local football club, but friendly.
