Excellent selection of ales, probably only trumped by The Stallards. Well kept beer with Cask Mark. The people and the place leave a lot be desired, but then this is a pub in the 'heart' of Trow, so you can't expect too much. Pick the right time and its good for a few well kep beers. Pick the wrong time and you'll be surrounded by angry little wrongun's, old drunks and people spending their hard earnt dole money. Pubwatchman - 13 Jun 2011 13:12
Very friendly, if rather tired-looking 'Spoons, with mixed clientele and average standard beers (a sensible range, given local preference for lager). mtaylor40 - 9 Jun 2011 21:55
Quick visit at 11:30am on a Saturday - place was busy but not packed. Standard 'Spoons but better than average beer range. newbury_drinker - 20 Feb 2010 14:18
Had a look in yesterday whilst wife was shopping. Fairly tired looking Spoons with Abbot,Ruddles,Milk St Funky Monkey and Okells Smoked Peat Porter on at under £2 a pint and a couple of pumps with *coming soon* on them. I had the Okells which was ok but no better. Pub very busy at 2pm on a Sat afternoon. Wetherspoons have a formula which you either like or you don't. Some Spoons are better than others. This one is satisfactory and I would visit again. Blue_Moses - 7 Feb 2010 10:53
