I think the remarks regarding the "slaggy" staff are well off the mark, as the people who come in, come back time after time as they recieve friendly treatment, the atmosphere is good. theres Djs, live bands, karoke, quiz, pool nights.. It is a family pub, the people that come in, have lived in the area for a long time, and know one another. which in my opinion sets a good atmosphere. And theres never any trouble.

Each to their own i guess.

I live in the area and have always avoided this place as it looks shocking from the outside. However, I went in there the other day with a mate on a whim and within 10 minutes we were having a chat with some locals, the landlord and the landlord's son and involved in a pool tournament. I decided to go back with my parents and once again, more locals came over and had a chat with us. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but at least the people talk to you and it's not up it's own arse. Give it a whirl if you can handle people being friendly and a decent juke box.

I use this pub regularly with my wife and know most of the locals personally and the people who slate the pub have not spent any real time in there.the manager is extremley friendly lady and the owner makes time to get to know people so they want to come back.

I think the comments about the slaggy bar staff were quite gentle really when you consider what they are like. Loud mouthed, hard as nails and downright nasty to the eye is also putting it mildly. the one who served my group spent more time on our side of the bar mixing with a very unruly mob& seemed to drink more than the customers. This pub is disgusting. You can cut the aggresive atmosphere with a knife.Avoid at all costs.
