| The beer is of fantastic quality with an amazing selection. The staff were well mannered and served with a smile. With this in mind, it was a very retro/old fashion atmosphere where a casual drink or a slightly larger occasion could both be on the cards. As an overall, the best pub within the small town of newmarket i would say! Furthermore, i would fully reccomend it to all seeking a welcoming environment. Shepards_Delight - 15 Nov 2010 02:08 |
| AS A BIT OF A BEER MONSTER, I'D HAVE TO SAY " THE BULL " IS A GOOD, WELL RUN, CLEAN PUB. I GIVE CREDIT TO THE STAFF WHO MANAGE AND WORK THERE. THE BEER IS EXCELLANT, WELL KEPT AND SERVED JUST RIGHT. daz4beer - 4 Oct 2008 14:37 |
| GK pub almost next door to the Golden Lion. I know which pub I prefer. hogshead - 26 Sep 2008 20:42 |
| A traditional old pub in Newmarket High Street. Only G/K IPA on hand pump here. I seem to remember quite a number of G/K IPA pump clips on every other hand pump as well. The barman serving seemed to have a good eye for who was next in order to be served. On last Fridays N/M pub crawl we were only having halves in pubs serving only IPA. Like most Newmarket pubs a number of racing pictures adorn the walls. To the side of the bar there was an open hatch which showed a number of customers out in the courtyard seated area.
