Now kind of gentrified and called the Drapers Arms. Has leather sofas, food, ales etc. They had Doom Bar and Purity UBU on draught - neither was up to much but I suppose they are at least trying.

I know Ealing well. Over the years it seems to have become ever more rowdy, especially at weekends. It appears this pub attracts its share of that type, and has changed with the surroundings.

Last time I went it was fair enough, acceptable Guiness, but it was a relatively quiet time.

The Wheatsheaf and Haven Arms are my preferred haunts in the area now: I'll follow the advice of previous posts, I think.

i went to this pub on a date.
There were well too many extremely drunk men there and a real feel of aggression from customers.
Bar staff pretty rude and prices expensive and quality poor.
The band ok for a pub band.
The security friendly but well too small to deal with anything starting in regards to fights.
Not a place I would ever go to again.
I like fun places with nice people having a good time.

This pub COMFORTABLY wins the prize of smelliest toilet in Ealing - the waft when you walk down the stairs to use the gents is vile. Despite complaints to the management, the last time I visied (about a month ago) the smell remains.

The pub itself is another souless chain, throwing out bad beer and insipid food. The only positives for me are the bands that appear at weekends sometimes. Otherwise, I'd give this a huge swerve!!
