It's quite student/young and noisy- pretty much a typical ONeill's. I've never found it rough though- it tends to be the 'reputation' of people walking up that road with its many pubs and deciding it MUST be rough. Come on... we all know what an ONeill's is don't we? Expecting it to be genuine Irish is like expecting Pizza hut to produce a stonebaked traditional pizza! It's nothing special but for a younger crowd perhaps with less cash to splash it serves a purpose. squizita - 21 Feb 2009 17:18
Ealing Pubspy would do well to check out the apocalyptic state of the gents in The North Star up the road. Makes O'Neill's seem like an oasis of calm and dignity. Is it any good, though? If you're looking for craic, atmosphere, warmth and charm - then you'd best avoid this place. About as "Irish" as a weekend in Bognor Regis. If, however, you seek to catch the eye of a lady, be sure to stand outside on a Saturday night and one might come your way, during a predictably tedious cat fight... E1_Norton - 12 Feb 2009 14:30
Hmmm tough one this OK at lunchtime I guess but needs a deep clean. Bar staff are friendly and helpful but it is in the warzone area of Ealing on a Friday and Saturday night and I refuse to go anywhere with bouncers on the door Loos are a disgrace. When are Pubcos going to realise that people who drink need to use the loo ? If you can't make the public parts of the premises look their best what is it like behind the counter or (worse) the kitchen ? Ealing Pubspy is watching you ! Ealing_Pubspy - 6 Feb 2009 13:20
I have been a regular visitor to this pub, but that's it for me until they clean and fix the gents loo's! In there the other night, I needed to use the loo and it was flooded, stunk of excrement and both cubicles were without a toilet seat and only 1 cubicle could be locked. Absolutely disgusting. Complained to a member of bar staff who shrugged his shoulders at me. Twat! Bouncers are thugs too and I watched as they goaded one drunken punter whom they slung out for no apparent reason. Needs a real shake up! Hanwale - 22 Dec 2008 19:58
This is a pretty much exactly what you’d expect from an o’neills, Irish Music, sport and Guinness. (Red Guinness was also available). My pint of Carlsberg was tainted – I’m not sure how you get Carlsberg wrong! There are much better places to drink in the surrounding area. Strongers - 31 Jul 2008 10:41
