In the period September 2006 to November 2011 (5 years) the C&A had 8 variable reviews. In the past 3 WEEKS the C&A has had 6 very positive reviews of which 5 were added in just 1 week. What good advertising for the pub.

Great pub for locals and visitors alike. As a local I have seen real improvements here in the last year with friendly landlady and staff, it is always 'service with a smile' here. Love the new menu and the food, whether you are a small party or a larger crowd the choice is abundant with excellent portions and all at restaurant quality and fairly priced too. Just about the only seafront pub in Eastbourne so well located to serve the many tourists as a break from the hotel bars (and their prices!) as well as locals enjoying a walk along the promenade. Whether you are here to enjoy a quick pint, a meal or an evening's entertainment you will be well looked after at the Crown and Anchor.

Excellent pub with friendly staff and quality food beer and spirits. This is a pub I never used to use until it changed hands last year since then it has become one of the best pubs in the town.Good mix of types of entertainment ,family and animal friendly, relaxed atmosphere a must for a night out.

I first started coming here in March 2011 after moving to the area. I can honestly say that in my opinion this is the best pub in the area. The landlady and staff are all really friendly, the drinks are fairly priced and every time I've eaten here i could not find fault with the food, it comes out quickly and I've never gone hungry! i enjoy the availability of two dart boards and two pool tables which is something thats sadly lacking in many other places in the area. Thoroughly recommended for all, you wont regret it!
