I was well impressed with this place, especially considering what it used to be like and the fact tha it's yet another chain pub. It's a chain i've never been to before (cornerstone) and i've got to say that of all the chains this seems to be the best. The beers were great and the food was ace, which shocked me considering it's an M&B chain. The barstaff and gaffers were friendly, it's nicely decorated, still feels like a proper pub. Well impressed. The people in charge of Ember Inns in th M&B chain could do with visiting this place to see how to get a chain right. mattyboy - 4 Oct 2008 10:03

WELL DONE TO THE NEW OWNERS OF THE HAZELWELL!! Now taken over by Cornerstone pubs and a new landlord and landlady to run it (Who might I add are very friendly but take no crap from anyone)It has a great feel to the place-the beer is a good price and the food is cheap but very good. The bar staff are exceptional. Always served with a smile and quickly. This place is a must to visit. For those that stillthink it's the same old clientele-go and see for yourself I can assure you all that you won't be dissapointed anonymous - 17 Jun 2007 00:56
top pub, carrying on from my previous review, very impressed, beer prices spot on. Pint of Black Sheep £2, and so is Carling .... Monday all day offers £1.49 Carling, Carslberg, Fosters and Worthingtons. Cheap and expansive looking menu. 16oz Steak for £6.45 looks worth a try. 7/10 and will get better seaman_max - 30 May 2007 08:59
