vistited this pub and thought it was excellent, very wellcoming, great staff, beer and food fantastic, plus they sell red guinness which seems to be hard to get hold of, deffenitly be going again, very happy with it all :-)

The landlord of this pub has serious attitude problems. He seems to consider that any display of happiness is in direct contradiction of the purpose of his pub. Woe betide anyone who feels remotely happy in his proximity as he will take this as a personal affront and an attack on the miserable atmosphere he so desperately attempts to maintain. Avoid at all costs.

Strange creatures, pubs next to bus and train stations, often full of the 'flotsam and jetsam' of the town and the odd shopper or person moving on to somewhere else. I've always been strangely attracted to them and i always seem to end up in this one whenever i'm in Ipswich. Big pub, standard pub fayre and drinks. Not great but not bad.

Went in here on a saturday night recently, ordered 2 pints for my friend and i, paid for them and before we had a chance to take a sip the manager told us we were too drunk and and to get out. Considering we weren't falling over drunk or causing trouble i tried to explain that we just wanted to drink our drinks quietly and go but he wouldnt even listen and then escorted us outside.
Its a real shame cause they have some good live bands in here but the pub is spoilt by having a manager on a power trip. Dont go in here if you've had more than 3 pints cause you'll probably be told that you're too drunk (after you've paid for your drinks!)

Tends to have three ales available (London Pride, Adnams Bitter and one other). Serves reasonably priced food. Lots of TV screens for watching sports and also has a pool table.
