Went into this place for a meal with my good lady wife yesterday. The food was superb, well priced and very well presented. The menu was on a par with what I'd expect with a reasonably priced restaurant and I will have no hesitation in going back again (indeed I intend doing so tomorrow). A nice selection of wines and my wife's Barcardi and coke was beautifully presented with ice, lemon and a straw without my having to ask. Well done all round!

9/10 - refuse to give 10 since there's always room for improvement in any establishment but no disrespect is meant by this!

I have a completely different view of The Plough. I regularily attend the steak day, and have had nothing but fantastic service and great value for money food. It is regularily busy, but I am still served by whoever is on the bar in a way that causes no complaints. I have also taken my family for the Sunday Carvery which again is amazing and all fresh cooked. If anyone has a bad experience here I suggest you go and try again, as I think the pub is doing great and has a friendly atmosphere for all.

10 of us booked in on the thursday grill night only to be told there would be no mixed grills that evening!! Said we needed more time as at least 5 of us wanted mixed grills, 20 minutes later we were still waiting to place a order.
our table was not ready on arrival and the pub was quite empty.
poor service, poor organisation, (we booked 4 days in advance, you would think they would have made the effort to provide mixed grills on a specials grill night!)
we cannot comment on the food as we chose to take our custom elsewhere as it struck us they could not deal with a party of 10.
all 10 of us will not be making a 2nd visit.

Hi David

Not sure which evening you visited, but I am sorry you didnt enjoy your time here.
The music is normally quite low apart from the weekends (Fri-Sat) and you should really come try our food! The chef is amazing.

Hopefully see you soon

Quite a busy pub, service was quick and efficient at the bar. Restaurant didn't seem as though anyone was eating, we weren't out for a meal so can't comment on the grub.

Huge TV on, gaming machine and music blaring out (someone even turned it up whilst we were there)...that's it - time to leave!

If you like a towny, noisy pub it's for you, but for those of us that like to find a seat for a quite drink and a chat...give it a miss.
