Very friendly staff, a credit to JDW. Good quality ale. Well worth a visit.

The Roebuck is tucked away down St James Street just a short walk away from the Bell. It's a handy pub to go to on a Friday/Saturday as the beer is cheap and the place so massive that you stand a good chance of getting a seat.
Not much atmosphere, because of it's size, but a nice enough pub in the Wetherspoons style.
The best thing about the place is the beer; they do excellent local beer from the "Nottingham Brewery", if they have 'EPA' then I would recommend several of those!

IMHO this is one of the better 'Spoons that I have been to. I know most of them are all pretty much the same but I did have a nice pint of Nottinghamshire Brewery beer and I unexpectedly saw the roof terrace which'll be a great relief to all you smokers!

In all I enjoyed the visit though as I went mid-afternoon may've been the best time to go as the evenings could quite well be another kettle of fish...

Staff are dreadful beyond belief, when I complained that I had been waiting 20 mins while the staff served theier pals who came in I was told I'd be thrown out. The manager is inept and unable to do what his job title suggests he should be doing. Dont bother, EVER.
